Arriba Los Zorros Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The ONLY way we are, and were ever going to win the league was playing that way. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that is the way successful English teams will play from now on. Chelsea's way of playing is dead. Negative tactics won't win you enough points and you won't be consistent enough with slow build up because defences are too organised. Saying we're one dimensional is hilarious. We thrashed teams 4-0, we put men behind the ball when needed and nicked them 1-0, we counter attacked and yet we played other games with all the pressure like at Southampton away and Everton at home. Disagree. What happened last year was a perfect storm. We'd be sussed out with all the time to study our players and style of play during the summer. Vardy's strengths and weaknesses will be analysed throughout the Euros. Other teams will be looking for the next formula to emulate what we did and improve on it; our best bet is to do it ourselves change things up ourselves subtly and alter the style of play to keep us near the top - see Southampton who constantly reinvent themselves
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This feels similar to when we were waiting for O'Neill to be confirmed at Celtic
The_77 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I'm not doubting your intel Bert, but why? Why, given everything that Vardy has said (not motivated by money, band of brothers, owes the club, here to stay) not to mention done, why do you believe "we need to match that to make him stay"? Plainly yet another new contract fro him is in the pipeline, and if what we hear about Kasper's contract is true, the weekly wage for Vards would be over £100k a week. He'd leave all that he has here for an extra £20k or so a week? Really? £20K a week. Say that out loud. That's before any possible increases to his endorsement contractsSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Babylon Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Very harsh suggesting that about King, just about the only player left in the game with any loyalty, he could have moved to a bigger club early in his leicester career but didn't. So what bid was accepted and who did he turndown?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Steve Walsh (the legend, not the scout) seems confident that Vardy's staying (on Twitter)
RowlattsFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The most disappointing aspect is the fact vardys agent has initiated the transfer. Surely he would need some sort of interest from vardy to do that. Unless he thought we'd offer him more money and we haven't fell for it.
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Vardy won't have that much money compared to other professional footballers because he didn't start earning big money until this year really. Prior to this what was he on, £10k at most when he joined us, maybe up to £30k until he signed his latest deal? That gives him maybe a couple of million in take home, a bit more in bonuses, which isn't much when it has to keep an expensive wife and family in luxury for the next 50 years+. But he's on £80K a week now, no? Is that not a ridiculous amount of money, more than enough to fund a rich person's lifestyle?
Moksky Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Feel sorry for all the punters vardy shirts sold on the new kit. If he leaves then absolutley , thousands with City and England shirts on the back
49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 May be the legal bod who drew up the release clause accidentally put that he could go for £20m to a championship club, rather than someone playing in the champions league, and he is joining Nigel at Derby!
TJB-fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 So what bid was accepted and who did he turndown?Irrelevant. Didn't try and force a move to Everton did he when he clearly could have. In this case Vardy and agent looks to be the instigators, Kingy could've done that
smudger63 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Unlike Delph last season, Vardy has just been key to our greatest ever achievement. That means a lot to people who stood with 8000 others on a wet January afternoon as Pleat's Leicester lost again to Blackburn Rovers. He's let nobody down, and if - in spite of the best intentions to stay - someone comes up with an incredible offer which does turn his head, then I don't think that makes him a snake. You can be disappointed, of course, you can disagree with his decision, but if you're a Leicester fan then it's a bit silly to start getting bitter about the club selling players to other clubs who are offering them more money and longer contracts. If we want to get into an argument about the morality of Vardy leaving, then certainly the fans who have abused his wife, called him a snake, threatened to boo him, or actually did boo him in his first year at the club, have done us few favours. He, on the other hand, helped give us the most wonderful moment of our lives. The fact that he said he wanted to stay and then, at some point, may have changed his mind doesn't change this. Except that if the reports are true, he was being touted to prospective buyers by his agent, undoubtedly with the blessing of Vardy a month ago, while in public saying that he is happy at Leicester and wont be leaving.
Jace Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he leaves then absolutley , thousands with City and England shirts on the back I don't think he's leaving England, just Leicester
Babylon Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Irrelevant. Didn't try and force a move to Everton did he when he clearly could have. In this case Vardy and agent looks to be the instigators, Kingy could've done thatAnd the Everton bid was confirmed by who?Face it, King is bang average. He's had nothing to turn down.
whitlock Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Suppose I better change my avatar and my phone wallpaper. I've got full wallpaper in the third bedroom!! Bollocks.

Teams had all last season to 'suss us out' and they failed miserably. People will still not give us the credit we deserve. Won the league by 10 points, why? Because we were that much better than everyone else. Reinventing ourselves will only leave us just like everyone else. Our style of play had to be unique, had to be a result of thinking outside the box. Had we tried to play the way other top teams play, we wouldn't have had a hope.
Buzzell Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I've got full wallpaper in the third bedroom!! Bollocks. Well we all know what you'll be doing tomorrow then!
nettle Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Hernández the former united striker to replace Vardy. I'd take that.
Merging Cultures Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Just think of all the kids who got this ***** name on the back of their shirt, how anyone can defend the rat is beyond me. Just brought my daughter a England kit with Vardy on the back and it's going straight in the bin now. **** England aswell, hope Andy King scores right at the end to send England outCan we ban this person please. They are spouting vile hate filled rubbish. Not just this post but a series of them.If Vardy goes it will be a shame. But he is nearly 30, and had the season of his life. He'll be good next year, but it will be neigh impossible to replicate this year. I appreciate what he has done for the club, I'll be disappointed if he goes, but 'fans' like this poster are embarrassing and disgusting. Be passionate by all means, but don't be so crude and hateful.
chicagofox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 im actually gutted Don't be. It might never happen. And it certainly hasn't as yet. None of us know anything other than another team has bid for one of our players. Until something is officially announced from either Arsenal, Leicester City, or Jamie Vardy, there is absolutely no point in anyone getting their knickers in a twist.
smudger63 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 The most disappointing aspect is the fact vardys agent has initiated the transfer. Surely he would need some sort of interest from vardy to do that. Unless he thought we'd offer him more money and we haven't fell for it. I think you answered your own question. The agent wouldn`t be going behind Vardys back trying to get him a move. Vardy will have been asked before hand, if he was happy for his agent to put the feelers out..
Buzzell Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I can't believe how quick this has materialised. Here we were thinking he was going to end his career at Leicester and help us fight in Europe to now being on the verge of signing for Arsenal. God I hate football sometimes.
Fox92 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 If he walks out he's not a club legend Why is he walking out? He's going to a bigger club. There's a difference. He'll always be a club legend for helping us win the top flight, all the squad will be.

Remember Berahino and what seemed like the inevitable move to Tottenham that never happened?
