49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Maybe he thinks he's going back to Fleetwood because they play at Highbury
lgfualol Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I hope we buy someone good enough to make 74 pages in 24 hours. Not sure how many we'll get when we inevitably sign Jon Walters.
GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I hope we buy someone good enough to make 74 pages in 24 hours. Not sure how many we'll get when we inevitably sign Jon Walters. I was thinking deeney but ya Walters sounds about Right
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I didn't say he does, but thats his choice to earn as much as is on the table, So basically what you and the other nob are saying is that every footballer once secure for life shouldn't seek the best deal/move for his family Well, yeh, basically. They should do the best for their career, and do what makes them happy. To be motivated by money in a job like that when you've already got so much is just silly. There are other, non-financial reasons to go to Arsenal, which I can understand, even if I'm disappointed in his final decision. The money argument does not wash with me. If that was the sole reason for him leaving I wouldn't respect the decision at all.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I was thinking deeney but ya Walters sounds about Right We have proven to be a little better at signing players than we were in the past
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I hope we buy someone good enough to make 74 pages in 24 hours. Not sure how many we'll get when we inevitably sign Jon Walters. It's got to be Shane Long - purely because of the endless amount of **** jokes we'd have to wade through.
KFS Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 So if this somehow drags on past Monday, can we expect that it isn't happening for at least a month?
Tuna Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I was thinking deeney but ya Walters sounds about Right I've got worse, Bamford.
49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 So if this somehow drags on past Monday, can we expect that it isn't happening for at least a month? The media will stretch it out as long as possible until the Euros start.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 So if this somehow drags on past Monday, can we expect that it isn't happening for at least a month? I would imagine we will know either way by Monday though. Neither Vardy or Arsenal will drag it out
Tuna Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Stringer was on RL earlier. He knew nothing, then they asked him about Vardy.
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Would be a good move for him. He's won a title now so the fact that Arsenal won't win one doesn't matter too much. He'll get a higher salary. And given Arsenal's injury record he probably won't play too much to pick up the money. On the other hand Arsenal also tried to get Suarez from his release clause and failed. They may not quite be the draw they think they are. They have one of the worst owners in all of pro sports. The people I Saint Louis want to string him up for leaving town and moving the NFL team to Los Angeles. Also if you look at his track record with his basketball, hockey and soccer teams in Denver they are pretty awful.

foxes161 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Rumour has it if it's not done by June 3rd something changes in the release clause
Ricey Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Rumour has it if it's not done by June 3rd something changes in the release clause ...but that was yesterday?
49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 In a funny sort of way it's probably better for us that this is resolved, either way, before the Euros. If he stays, we will pay him more and, hopefully, amend the release clause to something like £30+ million. Then, if he scores a sackful of goals at the Euros, teams may be sniffing around again but they would have to pay through the nose to get him. If there was no interest in Vardy at this stage, and he does well at the Euros, he goes for £20m
The Doctor Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Stringer was on RL earlier. He knew nothing, then they asked him about Vardy. Jokes about stringer aside, did they actually know anything about this? Seems odd that RL have said nothing despite being close to the club. Makes me think Ranieri is being misquoted and all he's actually said is arsenal have made an approach - and all this release clause, contract disputes and medical are nonsense
LJS Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This stuff about his wife wanting to "pursue a certain lifestyle" sounds like sexist bollocks to me. I'm sure he doesn't need his missus to tell him that £130k per week is better than £80k.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Rumour has it if it's not done by June 3rd something changes in the release clause June 3rd 2017?
ScouseFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This is what he said in an interview with the guardian in December. He's changed his tune massively if he sacrifices playing every week in his favoured position for a bigger paycheque. It all seems very strange to me. "Listening to Vardy rowing back over his story it is hard not to smile at how much his world has been turned upside down. There is a Bentley parked outside, a goalscoring record that has stood for 83 years in his sights and a place in that England squad firmly within his grasp. Yet he comes across as fiercely proud of his roots – “That’s made me the person I am” – and says that the former Fleetwood team-mate who described him as someone “who doesn’t care whether he’s on two grand or two quid” was spot on. “That’s true,” Vardy adds. “My life has changed, but I’m not money-motivated at all; that’s the last thing on my mind. I just want to play football and that’s how I’ve always been. To be honest with you, that shows in my performances, that I’m in a happy place, knowing that I’m doing the job that I love.” finally married his bird and she knows she's getting half of everything when she sacks him off in a few years. half of 130k a week or half of 80k a week? udothemaff
st albans fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 ...but that was yesterday? They made the offer in writing by then. If it's relevant then that's why yesterday.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Took my little one down to say goodbye because I'm sure there is a high chance some twat will deface this over the next few days ! Damming, some git's already lifted the wall and tipped it on its side.
