I didn't say he does, but thats his choice to earn as much as is on the table,

So basically what you and the other nob are saying is that every footballer once secure for life shouldn't seek the best deal/move for his family

If they move for more money when they're already set for life on the current contract then it's a move for greed - plain and simple. It's not about providing at that level, you're already more than capable of that: once you're earning more post tax per week than the average person earns per year (pre-tax) talk of having to do what's right for your family financially is ridiculous; they're already sorted either way.

Unless you count grandchildren, etc. as family. But I do agree, might not even be good for his children to grow up with that kind of money.

If he goes, how long do you think it'd be before someone spray painted 'Judas,' or a large phallic symbol on that mural?

I'd do it within the day if I could.

The way I see it, if Jamie Vardy has any common sense he will stay.

Karma is a bitch, if it wasn't for the owners and staff here he would more than likely not be in the position he is now, granted we have benefitted as well and it may look like a great move in hindsight but down the line if he does go he will 100% regret it.

it would be better if they sprayed " Judith" that would be funny.

someone should spray paint james pearsons face over vardys face, if he goes arsenal then i'll only be telling my kids about the former, as he'll be more of a legend to the club than this absolute chump.

I'll be desperately, desperately sad if this happens... it feels entirely different than if Kante or Mahrez were to leave. I'd still be gutted if either of them went, but I'd accept it. It just felt like Vardy had so much more of a connection with this club and this city, given the journey both club and player have been through together... was that not real? He was like an adopted son of Leicester.

For me, Jamie Vardy is the heart and soul of this team. He typifies everything good about us, the qualities that have led us to defy the odds and claim the Premier League title. At times it felt like he was driving us forward through sheer force of will. Kante and Mahrez are both phenomenal, and they will be extremely difficult to replace... but Vardy? It honestly feels like we'd be losing everything that makes this team what it is.

For everyone saying "if he goes, he goes, we have to move on" - honestly, do you really feel this way? How can it be as simple as that? Yes, he is only one man, but he's one man who has meant so much to every single fan of this team. For me it would be like losing a limb. Maybe Musa, or Slimani, or someone else will come in and replace him, maybe they'll score 15 or 20 goals a season. But will it feel the same? Can it, really? I don't think so. We might have a new hero, but we'll never have another Jamie Vardy.

People might accuse me of being melodramatic, or overly sentimental. But this is football. Football is drama and sentiment, football is heroes and villains, football is legends and stories that are told for time immemorial. Without any of that, football is nothing. I understand that this career is a short one, and when you've got a family to provide for, and an uncertain future to prepare for, you have to make decisions that you believe are the right ones for you, your family and your future. But it doesn't make it any easier to accept for us, the fans, the ones with romance in our hearts.

Desperately, desperately sad.

Excellent post. I agree with every word. F**king excellent.

And here's a big, fat BUT:

If he goes we have to move on. We can't as supporters just sit around and reminisce and ponder what might have been. We have no choice.

We've got a football club to support. A football club that's entering arguably it's biggest ever season.

If he wants to leave, that's his decision, and it might not be a decision we can necessarily understand, or for some of us, forgive. And it's natural for us to find something, or someone to blame for it.

But, should it happen, we applaud him for what he's done for the club, and everything you mentioned so coherently. We remember it with bleary-eyed affection, and draw a line under it...

Because Leicester City was, is, and always will be more important than one player.

all we can hope now is that arsenal buy all our good players and we get so badly embarrassed in the champions league we legit do ruin the coefficient and they finish 4th next year. THATLL TEACH EM.

If this goes through, Arsenal are making a classic big club mistake, and Vardy is an idiot for not seeing it. That team doesn't suit him. He won't score a bucketful next year, he'll really struggle. But Arsenal see a good player and think we must have him, he'll improve us. He'll be another Bony at Man City, or Memphis at Man Utd, or Felipe Luis at Chelsea, or anyone Liverpool have signed in the last 5 years etc. Just randomly throwing money at a problem with no real thought going into it.

We'll be fine. We'll scout the right players for our team, our way of playing. We won't just spend £30m plus on a superstar because it makes a statement.

This stuff about his wife wanting to "pursue a certain lifestyle" sounds like sexist bollocks to me. I'm sure he doesn't need his missus to tell him that £130k per week is better than £80k.

Well, even you'd have to admit that she's led a rather edgy life so far. The Peter André story, three kids from three different men, and apparently being the sole source of Vardy's strained relationship with his parents (if you believe the yellow press, he hasn't spoken to them in a year and they didn't go to the wedding because they don't like her).

I've had enough, I've eaten my Vardy Salted Crisps and chucked the packet in the bin.

At a birthday party, all of the other halfs family are arsenal fans - they're talking about how great it will be to have him on the wing. Knowing he's going to destroy any career he had by moving should convince him to tell them to bollocks

Can we start hating him yet? Bloody judas bastard

Worse than Delph.
