Ironically if he goes, it will make me support England more. The thing that frustrated me was not using Vardy enough, if he goes to Arsenal I hope he never makes the pitch

What if Wilshere plays?

The shirt is only on loan lads, the only ones it means anything to really...is us!

Sorry for butchering your comment but this is the truest thing that's been said

"Winning the league, and having Champions League football next season, you hope it keeps everyone together"

This lad has come from literally nothing, to being offered 100 grand a week. I don't believe any of you would sit there and turn that down to show loyalty to a club which, let's be honest, means very little to him.

Why does it though? I can't understand that. He's gone from literally nothing to being offered £100K a week because he's spent the last 4 years with us. Everything he's been through, the best time of his life. He'll be associated with some of the greatest sporting stories and moments ever. Becoming a world famous fairytale as part of a team and as an individual. All of that whilst he played for us and because he played for us.

Achieving all his dreams. Being worshipped like very few players in our history. The 250,000 people at the parade.

If he doesn't feel a connection to the club after all that, I think it's fvcking weird tbh.

Very interesting reading this interview from November with Stuart James, the journalist who broke the Arsenal story a couple of days ago. Especially the last paragraph:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/dec/04/jamie-vardy-leicester-city-interview?CMP=share_btn_tw

“That’s true,” Vardy adds. “My life has changed, but I’m not money-motivated at all; that’s the last thing on my mind. I just want to play football and that’s how I’ve always been. To be honest with you, that shows in my performances, that I’m in a happy place, knowing that I’m doing the job that I love.”

Have I just read people comparing Vardy to Bony and Lambert? You shouldn't be that fussed if he's leaving if he's that average then should you really? Because both are really average and I don't think Vardy is. I think his movement, pace and finishing is a huge upgrade compared to what we have. Sorry that you're losing one of your best players, we've experienced it plenty of times, we all have.

It's not that mate, it's just he doesn't suit Arsenal unless they massively change how they play. Vardy is best up field running at the last few defenders, basically counter attack style. When in possession I'm yet to be convinced, even in the championship when on form he 'only' got 16 goals cos we had most of the possession. Arsenal are the last club he should join in terms of suiting his style. However, I may be wrong but, I'm not.

Although i think vardy is a good player lets put things  in context 29 going on 30 , game based on pace so will be getting slower soon, one good season at top level

how many penalties in total , team still won without him in side and not really having a other striker with any pace ,so a younger  replacement  would not score for us after all its the

other players that create the chances 20 to 30 million for  a player that on all probability has just peaked in a poor premiership this season, on the whole if you look at the champions league [ of which vardy has never appeared] the strikers are top drawer his he in that league  time will tell  i would take the money and run and invest in some younger strikers

i do not think we will miss him that long there are some players we would miss far more .

Use full stops

Well, even you'd have to admit that she's led a rather edgy life so far. The Peter André story, three kids from three different men, and apparently being the sole source of Vardy's strained relationship with his parents (if you believe the yellow press, he hasn't spoken to them in a year and they didn't go to the wedding because they don't like her).

Even me? Who do you think I am? Germaine Greer?

I don't know anything about the woman. I'm a grown man so have no interest whatsoever in the lives of the wives or partners of footballers. Whatever their circumstances, the choice about what to do next in his career will be Vardy's. Yes, as his wife she will quite rightly have a big influence on that, but whatever he decides is on him, not her.

Also, a few people saying he said he'd be staying with us? I've not seen any quote saying that anywhere. Saying he is happy here doesn't mean he wouldn't be even happier at a bigger club on more money.

You're right but he could at least have had the decency to let the club that made him make him an offer first. Gold digging ****

How do you know we haven't...?

How do you know that hasn't happened? Or that the club haven't already told him they can't or won't match what Arsenal are offering him.

Anyway, it might not be solely about money. I'm sure it's a big part of it, but he's not a Leicester fan and if you're not a Leicester fan you're choosing Arsenal over us every time. Be honest with yourselves. Playing for Arsenal is basically guaranteed Champions' League football every year, deep runs in cup competitions and winning more games than you lose every season. Probably also guaranteed England call ups while he is young enough. Unless you really believe that one brilliant season has fundamentally changed the future of our club then Leicester City just cannot compete with any of that.

shock arsenal fan don't understand footy.

it's not comparing the players it's comparing the situations. going from internationals, heroes, potential (vardy already is) club legends. literally all you could want or dream of as a footballer. to what? i don't even know who lambert plays for anymore? did he even score a league goal for liverpool? will bony ever play for man city again? they've gone from having it all to training with the reserves. but they've got that extra ten grand a week.

Still have no reason to doubt the club or the owners, if players no longer want to play for us it is time they moved on and we just need to get the best deal for the club and that goes for any player however much they contributed last season. There is no reason to believe the club has not tried everything to keep the players deemed required for the club going forward.

Any outgoings will only add to the kitty for incoming players and players who want to be here.

If Vardy or his agent have actively been pushing for a move then he's got to go as far as I'm concerned. For me he'll go down as a legend for what he achieved here last season but make no mistake this puts him below the rest of them, and I'm absolutely gutted it's coming to that.

Am I the only one who thinks he's never looked 'happy' here.

I've never really seen him smiling and relaxed other than in training or with his teammates. The rest of the squad seem much more relaxed.

I've seen some clips of the lap around the pitch after Everton game carrying his Daughter from the look on his face you'd think we had just been relegated not won the league.
