whoareyaaa Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Wenger is a shit coach, would much rather work under Claudio.
FireFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Been talking to Arsenal fan tonight who lives in the same village as me,he's says that getting Vardy is not the big fish Wenger wants, his No1 fish is MahrezI was talking to Wenger a week ago and he said he wanted Vardy more than Kante or Mahrez. I told him about the release clause and he seemed happy.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I was talking to Wenger a week ago and he said he wanted Vardy more than Kante or Mahrez. I told him about the release clause and he seemed happy. All three are going to Arsenal in a package deal, was confirmed today via Wengers carrier pigeon
m4DD0gg Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 It wouldn't surprise me. Arsenal have the cash and it's the sort of cowardly thing a past it has bean like wenger would do in poaching 3 players like this.
Adster Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Most likely not real but this makes me sick to my stomach.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This is what he said in an interview with the guardian in December. He's changed his tune massively if he sacrifices playing every week in his favoured position for a bigger paycheque. It all seems very strange to me. "Listening to Vardy rowing back over his story it is hard not to smile at how much his world has been turned upside down. There is a Bentley parked outside, a goalscoring record that has stood for 83 years in his sights and a place in that England squad firmly within his grasp. Yet he comes across as fiercely proud of his roots – “That’s made me the person I am” – and says that the former Fleetwood team-mate who described him as someone “who doesn’t care whether he’s on two grand or two quid” was spot on. “That’s true,” Vardy adds. “My life has changed, but I’m not money-motivated at all; that’s the last thing on my mind. I just want to play football and that’s how I’ve always been. To be honest with you, that shows in my performances, that I’m in a happy place, knowing that I’m doing the job that I love.”
foxes_rule1978 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Everyone loves a Vote right? https://twitter.com/mrjakehumphrey/status/739165585154691072 How dumb, can't even do a poll correctly...
cambridgefox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 What disappoints me is having won the league with little old Leicester I would have hoped they would have all stayed together for one more season, especially getting CL football.Shame but life goes on.Really do not want this to be the catalyst for others. Then I will be bitter and feel used!
st albans fox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Awful. How is this happening? I don't understand? Well it started on page 1 ..................
49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I was talking to Wenger a week ago and he said he wanted Vardy more than Kante or Mahrez. I told him about the release clause and he seemed happy. I think you are quoting what was said on the Arsenal Fans TV You Tube channel earlier today
The Doctor Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Why are you comparing your own earnings to his, how do you know what it would be like to be a millionaire, then offered a chance at making more money? Not sure anyone has suggested about 80k and 120k being the difference between him being poor on the streets and being able to sufficiently provide for his family. that's your own warped interpretation Whats your postal address, ill send you some Tampons You're entirely missing the point - it's not like he needs more to provide for his family: 8 million over the next four years after tax plus whatever he's saved in the past four years since joining. Not really a destitute unless he gets a pay rise is it.
STUHILL Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 There is no loyalty involved when you can go from 80k to 130k a week. Ridiculous sums of money involved in football and that dictates everything. The real shame if he goes is this bullshit 20million release clause business. If he is going, at least rinse Gooners for a lot more. 35million would ease the blow and we would be totally in our right to demand it too. If he goes, then so be it. He has had ONE incredible season with us, and we are bigger than any one player and we can attract some top quality strikers now and have money to spend. If he does go, I won't be wishing him luck, because of all the things he said about "why would he leave" etc, but I also won't do a 180 and be hating on him as many have already started. We move on and find replacements. I do however think that with Vardy going, this opens the gates for Mahrez and Kante, which is a real shame as I was so confident all 3 would stay after achieving the miracle. Naive of me.
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 You're entirely missing the point - it's not like he needs more to provide for his family: 8 million over the next four years after tax plus whatever he's saved in the past four years since joining. Not really a destitute unless he gets a pay rise is it. I didn't say he does, but thats his choice to earn as much as is on the table, So basically what you and the other nob are saying is that every footballer once secure for life shouldn't seek the best deal/move for his family
MC Prussian Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Figures are over a 4 year contract period, he will earn £24 million rather than £16 million at Leicester. You don't have to be a genius to understand that it's greed. How much do they really need? Once upon a time footballers would argue it's a short career and they needed to earn enough for the whole of there life but come on! If I have to listen to another person drag out the old 'it's a short career he has to provide for his family' line again. Don't put it down to 'wanting to provide' - it's pure greed. 80k a week, 320k a month, 3.84m a year. Even after tax, with a career spanning just 4 more years I think you'll find Jamie Vardy has quite enough money to 'provide' for his family for the rest of his life. Provide in a significantly more lavish way than I will ever, most likely, be able to provide for my family, even if I work until I'm 70 years old. I very much doubt that even at this stage his future finances will ever be in question again. Stop saying it, it's ****ing silly. He can always go and do a postal route with his lookalike if he falls on hard times / gets injured. He's got a family to take care of, a new wife who's likely pushing him to pursue a certain type of lifestyle (which I think given Vardy's past and upbringing is probably not entirely his case, but stranger things have happened in the name of love). And yes, tax eats away a large chunk of it all. You argue over "greed" - how much of that is down to Vardy and how much of it down to other influences? We'll never know - unless there may be a divorce settlement on the horizon in the near future... (Sorry for coming across so cynical, but it's not like it's an unrealistic scenario). Remember that there have been other sportsmen or footballers on a decent chunk of money losing it all before. And please also remember that any future sale of Vardy will see both Fleetwood Town and maybe even Halifax benefit financially (or Stocksbridge, for that matter). A transfer isn't just about the player, there are other parties involved, as well.
foxes161 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 I'm sure Vardy comes back down to earth next year..taking the money and running maybe is smart as doubt he gets offered 120,000 a week again
GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Took my little one down to say goodbye because I'm sure there is a high chance some twat will deface this over the next few days !
49er Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Isn't there a sub-clause of the release clause that states if we get to 100 pages then Vardy has to remain a Leicester player for the next 10 years?!
potter3 Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Don't really care tbh, apart from the fact I wanted to see how the current team would fare in Europe.
Sharpe's Foxes Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 This doesn't surprise me one bit. Vardy strikes me as wanting to go all the way to the top. Whilst no doubt he's happy at Leicester we are not as high profile as some of the other clubs. I'm sure he was happy at Fleetwood, but he left. Same thing here. My money is on him moving Then why would you go to Arsenal? They haven't won Anything in ages with the American buffoon owner Stan Kroenke Man city with Pep or united with mourinho would make more sense if you wanted to go to the top.
HoustonFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 What disappoints me is having won the league with little old Leicester I would have hoped they would have all stayed together for one more season, especially getting CL football.Shame but life goes on.Really do not want this to be the catalyst for others. Then I will be bitter and feel used! This. If all this is true, it seems if all of our players have gone a bit "Big Brother contestant" and are trying to milk their 15 mins of fame.
