He was good at Southampton but lacked a end product. Now he's scoring goals to go along with his frightening pace.

People are forming this opinion because he has similar stats in terms of tackling and interceptions. Kante's game is far, far more than that. He dominates every game he's in in all areas, Gana does not.

I agree that Kante is worlds ahead but I still believe Gana is like a B-Tec Kante and would have been better suited to Mendy in a 442 formation. Also, that Chelsea team is miles better than the Everton one.

Koke Posted 19 December 2016 Posted 19 December 2016 Kante is better than Makalele and the latter had an entire position named after him, he was that good Kante's passing is underrated. We didn't see it often last year because we barely had the ball but at Chelsea his passing is on point, his tackling is world class and he drives his team forward.

Brilliant. A player I love watching. A lot on here laughed at the price Liverpool paid for him but as I said at the time I think he's worth it. Didn't realise he was only 24 though.

He's the 3rd best player in the world for me. If i'm picking a world 11 he's definitely my 3rd pick anyway.

It's no coincidence that Chelsea are not conceding goals. His passing is and always has been very underrated and his ability to win the ball and burst 10-15 yards is crucial. He gives it to the likes of Hazard FURTHER UP the pitch, where they can do damage. At what he does (winning the ball, bursting forward over and over again), I suggest he's the best in the world currently. He's not the best player in the world of course, but at what he does, he probably is.

filbertway Posted 20 December 2016 Posted 20 December 2016 I fancy Kanté could genuinely join any team in the league and have them top four contenders if he played every game. He's an incredible asset to any team being able to win the ball anywhere and drive forward. I think he'd be the second name on my team sheet after Messi.

Matt Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 Quote Liverpool's Joel Matip is one of seven Cameroon players who have said they do not want to go to the Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on 14 January. The defender cited a "bad experience" with the previous coaching staff, according to a Cameroon football association (Fecafoot) statement. West Brom full-back Allan Nyom is also among the seven. Fecafoot can ask Fifa to suspend the players at club level for the duration of the three-week tournament. Cameroon coach Hugo Broos said: "These players have put personal interest above those of the national team and the federation reserves the right to take action against the players in accordance with Fifa regulations." Centre-back Matip, 25, joined Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer having previously been at Bundesliga club Schalke. He has made 14 appearances for the Reds this season. Nyom, who told Broos he wanted to stay at West Brom to keep his place in the team, joined the Baggies from Watford in the last transfer window. The 28-year-old has also made 14 appearances for the club so far. The other five Cameroon players are Andre Onana (Ajax Amsterdam), Guy N'dy Assembe (Nancy), Maxime Poundje (Girondins Bordeaux), Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa (Olympique Marseille) and Ibrahim Amadou (Lille). All seven had earlier this month been named in a preliminary list of 35 for the tournament - the final 23-man squad will be named next week. Cameroon are drawn in Group A with the hosts Gabon, Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38385694 How pathetic. Who makes and allows these rules?!
jammie82uk Posted 21 December 2016 Posted 21 December 2016 What was your Premier League team's best day of 2016? http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10703197/what-was-your-premier-league-teams-best-day-of-2016 Leicester City May 2, English champions for the first time The greatest football story of the year - and for many years, too - Leicester were confirmed as champions of England for the very first time in 2016, after overcoming odds of 5,000/1 to shock the world. Jamie Vardy had a party all right. In fact, the whole City squad were at his house to take in Tottenham's 2-2 draw at Chelsea live on Sky Sports which gave them the crown. In the end, Leicester won the league by 10 points and had Andrea Bocelli singing at the King Power on the day they collected the trophy. Who could have predicted that 12 months earlier? Manager Claudio Ranieri said: "The fans pushed us all season. I am very happy. It was an amazing moment to lift the trophy." Tottenham Hotspur December 1, Kane signs new long-term deal Harry Kane's importance to Tottenham has been evident since he marked his first full season as a regular in their side with 31 goals in the 2014/15 campaign. He had signed a new contract in the latter part of that campaign but his continued progress has been such that an improved deal had been spoken of for much of the time since.

Matt Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 Pardew Sacked. It's a shock but not a shock if that makes sense, weeks ago I was asking how long he'd got left but since then I though he'd picked up abit? If they were gonna do it I thought they'd have done it weeks ago. Steady manager, bit like Pearson in the way he went through bad spells but soon picked up and got runs together, although Pearson pisses all over him. Hmmm maybe he didn't pick up, 1 win in 11. Tbf you think back and this 'bad spell' goes back well into the end of last season, so they've been fair with him and gave him enough time.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 Pardew's a tool. You can't survive forever on a couple of unbeaten runs a season and massive runs of losses. Bit harsh to do it before Christmas, though.
