Let's all request for Preki odds and get Palace fans bobbin'. Woy 14's How does that prick even keep getting on the lists?
goose2010 Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 strange timing as you cant see them getting anyone in before the new year, so caretaker boss will have at least 3 in the league plus the FA cup. Big Sam would be an option just depends if he wants it, probably confortable living off him payout from the FA.
ALC Fox Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 I wouldn't be suprised if they approached Dyche or Giggs to be fair. It's no wonder Big Sam is the favourite though considering his pedigree and availability.
Lionator Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 Picking Allardyce is such a short term, eyes shut sort of appointment. There's more to football than surviving in the Premier League, ask Newcastle and West Ham supporters.

It is 100℅ fair. You can't just pick and choose to play or decline matchs/tournaments. You choose to represent a national team. So you should play every games. You don't decline a game in the African qualification against ( let's say) Zimbabwe. And then you expect to play against Brazil in the world cup. You don't just cherry pick. If you think that you should leave a team in the time of need. Then you better retire instead. Just imagine one of our players asks to sit out stoke city away in a Rainy night while fighting to stay in the PL and then demands to play against barca in the semi final.
Leicesterpool Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 Well so Padrew sacked! no surprise they've got a good squad there that are clearly underperforming, they've been poor all year, threw away the cup final playing against a ten men Man U side. Never keen Padrew so overated and comes across as bit of nasty bit of work. Allardyce would be a good move for them.

Koke Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 Shame. I was pretty confident Palace would one of 3 or 4 teams we'd definitely finish above.
NewEnglandFox Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 28 points in his last 38 games. It's almost remarkable that he was sacked now after putting up with him for so long.
Izzy Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 I really like Steve Parish the Palace Chairman. Tells it straight and there's never any BS from him. Always comes across as a decent, honest bloke to me..
Corky Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 He can't complain, won 2 in 21 last season, kept his job, given good money to bring in decent players and has fared little better this time around. Their 2016 record is pathetic.

You should be able to pick and choose as a player. If the manager doesn't like it he can leave you out or never pick you again - that's the natural sanction.

What more can Palace be looking for in their position as well? Appointing some 'exciting' could go either go the way of Pochettino at Southampton or Garde at Villa...Sam is solid and they it's what Palace probably need right now, been in free fall for a while.
foxfanazer Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 0.76 points per game average in 2016. He can have no complaints at all

Do you actually believe that a player has the right to choose games. So, you will not be bothered about a player only cherry picking. You have a responsibility towards your teammates and country. If you don't like to play then retire. Don't make false Promises. There is no "I" in team. Just put yourself in the players position. Imagine that there is a player in your team that picks and chooses. He is a big part of the team's plan. He is a very good player. The club just needs him. You and him play the same position. The team plays in the lower leagues. Team plays a game against another lower table team. And he chooses to sit that game. And instead he slept home while you traveled 800 KMs and then played your heart out for 90 minutes and managed to get a 1-0 victory. On to the 2nd leg. Played a lower league team. He sits the game again while you traveled for a long time and played in less then enjoyable atmosphere. The next leg. The same thing happened. But suddenly your team drew man united. "It is my chance to shine". But ohh nooooooooo!. The guy who didn't play the tough games thought that it is fair to take your hard work away from you. All the hard work, the countless training and Traveling hours, the Pain and the tears all for nothing. And you can kiss the dream of a scout discovering you goodbye. And that's why I said it is 100℅ fair.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 22 December 2016 Posted 22 December 2016 IoI if I were african I would be well pissed off to go to what's basically the arsehole of the world to play in some no mark Mickey Mouse cup. Even more so if I were essentially an english or french national like our players.

Have you not stopped to think they maybe just as proud as any of us would be to play for our country. in fact your whole post comes across as being very racist.

As a manager I would not select players who were not totally committed, but that is their choice.
