Thracian Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 He deserves punishment. Got out of the easy one he had. Seems justice is served. There's a lot of people need punishment but don't necessarily get it. How's that report on the Iraq War coming on?

4everfox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Indoors between 2200-1800. Will he make it back to Manc after Chelsea game? Judging by those hours he won't even make it to the match.
Strokes Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 He was lucky to escape without a prison sentence, so this is still getting off lightly in some respects.
NG14 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Is missing the parade really that bad I can't imagine anything worse if I was a player. I can assure you they won't be looking forward to standing on top of a bus for hours on probably a boiling hot day after a long season.

It's one of those things where they will probably love the first few minutes then the next 3 hours will be the longest of their lives ! It's a shame he misses the parade but the law is the law and if you break it you suffer the consequences. While he's been awesome for us, if he did what he was convicted of then he deserves to be punished like anyone would be.
Len Finsbury Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 He'll be playing in his ankle bracelet on Sunday, will he? Another player did the same a few years ago, who was that?
onekeithweller Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I won't be hiring his lawyer. Not that i've done anything.
NZ_Foxile Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 His lawyer obviously convinced him he'd be able to get out of the community service and pay a fine. Oh dear. A bit stupid and presumptious really, should've just served the rest of his sentence
ThaiFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 To be honest it just seems like punishment for punishments sake, he was given community service and he has been doing it. I'm sure if they used their brains they could find a way his fame and success could be used as part of community service. If they can't then surely a fine and or deferred community service would be preferable. Making him wear a tag just seems obtuse, he's hardly going to disappear with the amount of press attention he is getting, yes he can afford a fine, so make it a big one and use that money to do something good. I agree with this. Surely it wasn't his fault if the press messed up his community service? And although I see the point of a tag as an inconvenience to him, surely a substantial fine would have done a lot more good for the many victims of abuse? In 21 days his punishment will be over and no-one will have benefited. Will he play against Chelsea? Maybe do a Vardy and sub him at half time so he can back home in good time!

Taking your supercar to do community service was like flicking the V's at the legal system, and now they've flicked them back.

Why waste a substitute on the right back? He's hardly as influential as Vardy
stripeyfox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Maybe a better option would have been to move his community service elsewhere? Lots of litter in the park near us, and the railings need painting....
Itsthejoeker Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Err, the squad will travel to the game on Saturday so he won't even make it to London
Livid Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Taking your supercar to do community service was like flicking the V's at the legal system, and now they've flicked them back. He's paid god knows how many thousands a week it's his car it's what he drives. Should he have hired a Fiesta for the day?
reynard Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I am in no way condoning his actions but this is ridiculous. The man was found guilty and was sentenced to community service. Whatever one thinks of the sentence he or any other offender should be allowed to complete their punishment without the interference of the press. Personally I think in cases like this the press should be told to f*** off and allow justice to run its course. Guess I'm just some weak minded old liberal but rehabilitation of criminals through a combination of redemptive and punitive measures is something of which we should be proud.
ThaiFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Why waste a substitute on the right back? He's hardly as influential as Vardy Maybe so, but look at the goals we let in early in the season without him in the side......with Vardy suspended we didn't lose, but when Simpson was sent off it cost us the match!
Guest Manini Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Excuse me for possibly being thick...but he will be able to take his tag off to play against Chelsea won't he? Or does it come in to action after the Chelsea game?

ScouseFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 does seem weird to change it now. community service "punishes" him, helps other people out. a fine "punishes" him and could well help people out if they make it a nice tasty one because of his "financial circumstances". a tag "punishes" him and does nobody any good. end of the day don't strangle your bird and you're golden, but to change his punishment because some scrote journalist took loads of pictures of him to make some shit "#CELEBGOSS" column is a bit weird.
