Filbert1962 Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Taking my lad (12) & Mrs H to the England friendly against Turkey. First time for us all. They have asked if we are OK to wear LCFC shirts. What's the protocol? Is it ok? Will we get admiring glances and pats on the back for a 'job well done' or are we more likely to be chased and spat at by rival English fans?

Sit in the Turkish section and you'll be fine
Filbert1962 Posted 19 May 2016 Author Posted 19 May 2016 Sit in the Turkish section and you'll be fine Helpful, thanks.
Danizen Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 We don't really have any rivals and everyone outside of North London loves us so you should be fine. It would take an absolute bell end to give you any kind of trouble. Especially if you have a kid with you. Don't worry about it.
StanSP Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 You'll be fine. Loved and adored by all if you get Izzet printed on the back of the shirts.
Swarles Barkley Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 At an England game you are an England fan. No one is going to give you grief and dn besides loads of people wear their respective teams shirts
Turk123 Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Sit in the Turkish section and you'll be fine I know there was sarcasm in your message, but it was also true We Turks loved the Leicester fairy tale this year! so yeah please, do sit with us
The whole world smiles Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 You will be fine it's a bet of a pet hate of mine, in a ideal world every one would put there club colours aside and get behind England. But like someone else said loads of people do it so if that's what you wanna do knock yourself out.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 It's not really the done thing but I've done it before.
Filbert1962 Posted 20 May 2016 Author Posted 20 May 2016 Thanks everyone for your advice. We will wear our shirts with pride and soak up the praise!
st albans fox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 depends if JV misses an important pen ................
LanguedocFox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Wear them with pride: a few years ago you'd have got nothing but pitying glances, now you'll bask in the glow.
Sir Shep Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 To be fair, there'll probably be no end of people wearing a city shirt including people from Bristol who've never even been to Leicester
Livid Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 We're everyone's favourite second side, with the exception of a few bitters here and there. Say it loud, We're Leicester City Champions of England!
foxes_rule1978 Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Just make sure you're not standing next to a load of Spurs fans
m4DD0gg Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 You will be fine and get lots of congratulations. I was in Italy last week and wore the green ind coope shirt one day and baring in mind it is not instantly recognisable i had about 20 people both english and italian congratulating me.
Hollism Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 Sing Leicester songs throughout too. "ENGLANDS. NUMBER NINE. ENGLANDS ENGLANDS NUMBER NINE!" At Jamie Vardy wearing shirt number 18.
ClaphamFox Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 depends if JV misses an important pen ................ "ENGLANDS. NUMBER NINE. ENGLANDS ENGLANDS NUMBER NINE!" At Jamie Vardy wearing shirt number 18. I'm pretty sure Vardy is 'excused' from Sunday's game due to him getting married tomorrow...
Filbert1962 Posted 20 May 2016 Author Posted 20 May 2016 Should be great - my lad has the new shirt with 'Champions 16' & I should have my first tattoo celebrating our success!
HEGGSY Posted 20 May 2016 Posted 20 May 2016 I'm pretty sure Vardy is 'excused' from Sunday's game due to him getting married tomorrow...He's getting married on the 25th. Remember reading it and him saying its harder for guests and stuff because it's a midweek date
