Ok chill!!!

It's a rumour so I have posted it in the transfer section. I'm sorry if this has deeply affected you!

lol lol lol

Please God no.

He can t hold the ball up. He can't lead the line. He can't head. He can't defend. Poor technique. He's got the tactical awareness of an academy player and a first touch of a Championship player. He's a speed merchant, and he is exactly why England continue to fail at tournaments because we give frauds like Walcott £100k a week and rate him as an International player.

Wouldn't take him even if he improved his fitness.

Would personally like him here tbh. As mentioned, on form he's a good player. Not sure we could negotiate wages though and if he wants to stay in London it probably isn't going to happen.

Are Arsenals back room staff doing a proper job though or are they just unlucky? A fit Walcott is a bloody good player. They have players season after season playing 10-12 games for them.

They're just shit. Everyone that joins them turns into a cripple.

I think Walcott, with our medical team, could actually be good. But not on his wage demands.

Convinced there's something fishy at Arsenal injury wise. Would be interesting to see if him or Welbeck or The Ox came here and had the same injury problems. A fit Theo Walcott in this set up would be a superb signing, but there's so many factors that tempt me against signing him. Wages and injuries being the main two

Much prefer oxlade chamberlain or Joel Cambell if we had to take a winger from arsenal even though I think we can and will do better than both, people still talking about Walcott having potential to be a top player, he's 27,has no positional awareness, can't hold the ball up, cross or shoot, and is injured for the majority of the season so no thanks although I don't think this rumour carries any weight anyway

The Ox would be a great addition.

Not sure where he fits in. As a replacement for Mahrez? No thanks. Ahead of Gray & Albrighton in the pecking order? Don't want that either. He's not a goalscorer so he's not an obvious partner for Vardy, since a goalscorer is what we need.

And £100K a week for a squad player? That doesn't add up.

Bit harsh, top strikers have been calling for him to play as a striker for years, but Wenger refuses, whenever he does he does a decent job.

Injury wise I think you only have to look at arsenals injury record to see that it's clearly more than unlucky and the fault probably lies with the way they train and their physios/fitness coaches.

Never seen a club with such a poor record on injuries.

Not a goal scorer? Last three times we played them he has scored against us! Has a hat trick in a competitive match for England.

For someone who plays ostensibly on the wing, he has a reasonable goal scoring record.

55 goals in 236 as a winger?

Top strikers have been calling for him to be played upfront for years, when he has played there he's looked quality.

It's amazing how little he has progressed. He's 27 and still plays like the academy player that he was 10-11 years ago. Lots of pace but no brain.

Someone should dig out that clip against Palace the other week where he just ran into two Palace defenders and fell over. Summed up his career right there to be honest.

Who does he replace in our starting 11 then? He's not in the same league as vardy or Mahrez, can't see him playing the Okazaki role and I'd personally prefer albrighton on the left because he can actually cross the ball

This is utter bollocks.

Ranieri clearly stated 'no big names'.

He also stated in January he didn't want to sign anyone, then got Amartey and Gray.

I can tell you with confidence that we won't want to sign Theo Walcott, theres few players in the Premier League who are overpriced, overrated and overvalued, Walcott is one.

It would be a step backwards for the club, Gray offers so much more already.

He would have to take a big pay cut to move anywhere. No one is going to pay him 130k/week!

And asking who he would replace here?

Next season will be different for us. Players will get more rest. That includes Riyad who was shattered come April.

Not keen as he has never lived up to expectations and he would blow the wage structure.Swap deal for Mahrez surely not.Hope this is gossip seems based on one tweet.

I do wonder about the logic of our fans sometimes.

Fit and well, Walcott has his strengths. The problem is that he's forever on the treatment tables.

Yes, anyone can get an injury but Walcott's body seems hellbent on collecting as many as it can.

We're not talking short-term sprained ankles either.

Wikipaedia refers to persistent shoulder injuries during his early career, a ruptured anterior cruciate and latterly abdominal problems which needed surgery.

Look at his appearances and goals record over 16 seasons. Just 257 appearances for his two clubs since 2005 or less than 20 games a season on average. There's not much "overtime" in there! :)

And his goals return has been modest for much of that period, with only one season - 2012-2013 - when he notched double figures in league goals in what appears to have been the best period of his career with returns of 13, 11 and 21 goals overall in three successive seasons til 2013. That record has since tailed off quite significantly but i'd doubt his wages have reflected  that.

I wouldn't list Walcott among the bravest players I've watched or the most physical and if his  injury list has taken its toll psychologically I'd find it ever-harder to imagine him performing anything like my trusted Peugeot which has 340,000 miles on its clock up to now and would still treat a return trip to Scotland like a good warm-up.

Yes, of course I'm aware of our medical marvels but marvels are not margicians. At at a reported £100,000 a week for the Arsenal lad, it's maybe magicians we'd need.

Ask yourself this. Would you spend your own money on a substantial transfer fee (via a swap or not), plus the rumoured £100,000 a week (but plenty whatever the truth) on such a risk?

Why would you do it when there are likely to be swifter, stronger, younger and probably better players out there whose bodies might be more dependable and who'd perhaps cost less than half the price?

Yes, I agree, at his best he can be brilliant. But how often does he have a near injury-free season and show his best consistently?
