UPinCarolina Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Well, it looks as if we have the GK that was so sought after.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Well up for this one. What a cheeky little bit of business that was. Up the foxes
Holdernessfox Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Was thinking: Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron.... [ahem] Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron Don't give their strikers their fun, fun, fun If they get by There'll be no pizza pie For Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron Hello, by the way.
WigstonWanderer Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 [ahem] Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron Don't give their strikers their fun, fun, fun If they get by There'll be no pizza pie For Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron Hello, by the way. Really like it!
what? Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Ziel is German for target fyi. So assumedly the plan is to get people to aim at him rather than the goal.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Takes off any huge stress about losing Kasper. Not that I think that will happen, but at least we have top notch cover now, assuming Ron Robert Ron actually does sign.
FoxonMaui Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Gotta love our scouting department!!!! If Hernandez rumor is also true we have snapped up two huge signings for chump change Imagining Wenger on the phone right now doing a tantrum at his scouting department,..... hehehee
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Hernandez-Zieler double announcement? I can see this.
st albans fox Posted 29 May 2016 Author Posted 29 May 2016 Rob dorsett tweeted that the player and Hannover are keen on the deal so have publicised it. Apparently more so than we are. Makes no sense to me.
Merging Cultures Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 [ahem] Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron Don't give their strikers their fun, fun, fun If they get by There'll be no pizza pie For Ron Robert, Ron Robert, Ron, Ron, Ron Hello, by the way. Stellar first post!!
ajthefox Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Handling looks a bit suspect but decent at shot stopping. If the consensus is that he will challenge Kasper for the starting spot though then that's great, and at a snip too. Such a relief we won't be relying on Hamer and Schwarzer.
foxes21 Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 yeh I cant imagine we're too happy Hannover leaked it early
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Confirmed by Hannover that we have activated his release cause ( yep - one of those !) and he is rravelling for a medical. We rarely comment until deals are done and dusted. Sounds promising then, Kasper will need competition and a good deputy next season
Tuna Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 yeh I cant imagine we're too happy Hannover leaked it early 2.6 million apparantly, ****ing love these cheapo buys.
MC Prussian Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Zieler at Northampton Town in 2008/2009 - the look on Joe Benjamin's face (#9).
murphy Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Don't understand how you qualify as homegrown for Champions League, but if his time at Man U qualifies him, then surely Kasper already qualifies anyway?
act smiley Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 I want this to happen not because I've got any insight into how he's been doing the past few years, but simply because as chants go, "Zieler" to the tune of Hey Ya by Outkast is too good to pass up.
jammie82uk Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Don't understand how you qualify as homegrown for Champions League, but if his time at Man U qualifies him, then surely Kasper already qualifies anyway? This explains it better then I could: No club may have more than 25 players on List A during the season, two of whom must be goalkeepers. As a minimum, eight places are reserved exclusively for 'locally-trained players', of which no more than four can be 'association-trained players'. What is a 'locally-trained player'? These are split into two categories: 'club trained' and 'association trained'. What is a 'club-trained player'? One who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which he turns 21) has been registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months. This is irrespective of his nationality and age. What is an 'association-trained player'? One who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which the player turns 21), has been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the same association as that of his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months. This is irrespective of his nationality and age. What is the B list of players? A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season. The list must be submitted by no later than midnight CET on the day before the match in question.
cityfanlee23 Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 One of the first players I've seen us linked with that actually underwhelms me on YouTube, Seems to parry almost everything even when it's straight at him and easily catchable. If the scouts like him, I like him, but even kermorgant excited me more based on seeing his "best saves" on YouTube...
cityfanlee23 Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Definitely not denying his ability though, 2nd most saves in Europe or something.
Webbo Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Definitely not denying his ability though, 2nd most saves in Europe or something. All that proves is he's faced a lot of shots, not that I'm saying he's a bad keeper.I'd never heard of him until today.
cityfanlee23 Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 All that proves is he's faced a lot of shots, not that I'm saying he's a bad keeper.I'd never heard of him until today. That's my thought, his YouTube video considering so many saves seem pretty average but if we sign him I back him, the scouts know what they are doing. Just felt a bit of an anti climax when I started watching him online, all you see branded everywhere is "world cup winner" "2nd most saves" "German number 2" etc etc
Tuna Posted 29 May 2016 Posted 29 May 2016 Best name for a premier league player since Joe-Max Moore.
