AyewJoking Posted 11 June 2016 Posted 11 June 2016 What the hell do people mean club over country? I don't understand it. It's not like the two things ever need to clash, Leicester will never play against England, so it's not a betrayal of your club to follow England in the same way. It is, without doubt, the stupidest phrase I've ever seen or heard. Anyone who utters or writes it, is a complete waste of oxygen. maybe they mean they invest more emotion into their club than they do the national team?
Littletoe Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Didn't have the bollox to swap Kane for Vardy tonight. Kane didn't have anywhere near the pace tonight, to break past defenders after we scored the first goal. Russia were pushing and pushing, which opened up us to play counter attacking football if we wanted too, Roy bottled it. Whole world again is laughing at us, just check twitter....
Tuna Posted 12 June 2016 Author Posted 12 June 2016 Woy is so deluded he probably genuinely believes he is doing a good job.
Zapp Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 The performance was good 7/10 The substitutions were horrific. As soon as we went 1-0 up shouldve got sterling (who was looking tired then) off for some pace. Ideally vardy but Sturridge or rashford could do a job. It baffles me to the extreme that in tournament football with a game every 5 days, when you only have 2 natural wingers, you try and burn them out in game 1. 0/10 Kane on corners <0/10 As someone else said, progress in this tournament will be despite hodgson, not because of him
filbertway Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Vardy isnt the answer in this situation. Players who play in their correct positions is vital. Hodgson being the highest paid manager in this tournament is embarassing.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 In the first half we looked unbelievable, albeit with the finishing of a conference team.
jaqo88 Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 In the first half we looked unbelievable, albeit with the finishing of a conference team. If only we had a top striker in our ranks to bag a few...
biggs Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 In the first half we looked unbelievable, albeit with the finishing of a conference team. ......and Russia didn't look any better than a conference team If Hodgson won't play Vardy and Kane together then if Kane is under performing it makes sense to switch him up with Vardy. The game screamed for this change. The Russian back line appeared slow and we failed to take advantage of this.
ScouseFox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 huge differences between us and the top sides, the main one being the manager, really. france we struggling on friday night, that was obvious. they took off pogba, their star, their main man and their poster boy because he wasn't doing anything exciting. replaced him and greizmann because they were both playing poorly, replaced by two kids with no experience who can attack and cause problems. we have harry kane falling over and miscontrolling the ball for 90 minutes, never a hint of taking him off, changing anything or even being bothered. he didn't touch the ball in the box once all game. should've had him off for vardy (or even rashford i don't care, anyone would've been an improvement) not long after half time. the fact we played half well with a completely anonymous, bar a few pathetically bad long range shots and corners, striker is pretty positive tbf.
Jattdogg Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Woy should be given a medal for being the best tw@t in the world by a country mile. Its not just his decision making today but his belief that he never gets its wrong. Ive tried to be a tw@t but no matter how hard I try you make it impossible to beat. Its just a natural thing for you woy. A natural born Tw@t. Inspiring. Legend. FOAD you stupid daft bird brain feckin cvnt
ealingfox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Was at the game, didn't have the best vantage point so couldn't process the game all that much but I thought we were shite tbh. Rooney and Dier played well but those players in that formation make a very average side. The fact that Vardy's not seen any minutes there is a joke.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 We played decent the but Russia were shite. Kane was poor as was Sterling who was embarrassing actually. Roy won't change the formation now I guarantee it
Webbo Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 I used to love watching England, almost as much as Leicester but how can you support a manager that is way out of his depth and continues to prove that he just isn't capable, look what happened at the last tournament.. And he is still here, brainless as he was back then. What did you think of Leicester when we'd been bottom of the table for 16 weeks? A supporter supports. It's like Seenitall has taken over this thread.

You stick to your blind optimism though mate, happy for ya

It's like Seenitall has taken over this thread. i used to bring this up a lot but it's pointless, most people revel in the national team being rubbish. all the arguments about mismanagement, rubbish games, crap results, players not caring, humiliation, etc etc etc apply to city from about 2001-2009 but we didn't just "give up" or cheer when we conceded like all the anti England lot. we have to support them so we just carry on it blind faith and hope it'll get better someday. that's part what being a football fan is about. "through good times and in bad we always back the lads"? not "if there's not gonna be good times we cheer russia goals against us cos hodgson out".
GaelicFox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 (Repeat post) Anyone wanting thier country to lose for any reason is pathetic , you back your country over the cliff and even then you climb back up with them ! As an immigrant watching the England team last night I was horrified at the amount English people abusing their own players it was shocking ! Would never see a Mick/Jock/Taff behave like that Bloody embarrassing ! That "loyal Leicester" flag looks a fecking joke at this stage Get behind your fecking team !
Guest ttfn Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 We played decent the but Russia were shite. Kane was poor as was Sterling who was embarrassing actually. Roy won't change the formation now I guarantee it I'm not sure there was anything wrong with the formation. The biggest problem with the formation is the squad selection - if Sterling or Lallana get injured then we've got nobody semi-competent to play on the wing and the formation becomes un-playable.He's taken a lot of flak on here (from me included) but with Rooney on the pitch we were in total command of the game. It wasn't exactly Brazil 1970 and we weren't creating chance after chance, but we were well in charge of the game and deserved to be ahead of a poor Russia side. Not bringing on Vardy at 0-0 was bloody strange but not bringing him on at 1-0 was absolutely mental. Had he brought on Sturridge or Rashford for Kane it would have at least showed that he understood that there was a clear weakness we could exploit at 1-0 up and that maybe he just didn't rate Vardy, but bringing none of them on in that situation worried me greatly and suggested he couldn't see what was staring him in the face. We've all seen Leicester close out countless 1-0s this year and the common factor in all of them has been that no matter how defensive Ranieri has gone with his back 8 or 9 players we have always retained a counter attacking threat. It's absolutely critical in closing out those tight games because it gives the opposition something else to think about and also makes it far easier to just smash the ball 70 yards down the pitch and waste time at the other end of the field. Perhaps had Roy spent a bit less time at WHL he might have seen that.
biggs Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 I'm England to the end and was so pissed off when Russia scored but am so much more pissed off at our effing manager and the idiots he reports to. it's tough to enjoy when you're screaming at Hodgson on the TV to sort it out as he sits there like a dumbass refusing to open his fooking eyes.
foxfanazer Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Cheering a goal against your country is clearly embarrassing. I just want us to go into tournaments with the best possible coach we can atttact and with players that have had great seasons. I like that we have a fairly youthful side but if we're gonna be mismanaged it makes you wonder how it will affect their confidence
Guest Bob Hazels shorts Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 i used to bring this up a lot but it's pointless, most people revel in the national team being rubbish. all the arguments about mismanagement, rubbish games, crap results, players not caring, humiliation, etc etc etc apply to city from about 2001-2009 but we didn't just "give up" or cheer when we conceded like all the anti England lot. we have to support them so we just carry on it blind faith and hope it'll get better someday. that's part what being a football fan is about. "through good times and in bad we always back the lads"? not "if there's not gonna be good times we cheer russia goals against us cos hodgson out". I don't feel any connection with the England players and possibly haven't since 96. This is not something I try or like to happen. Something has changed, them or me? Hart seemed like the only one showing interest as they came out, even Rooney was tolerable compared with the new wave. Through no fault of my own I prefer to see a team containing any of my teams (Leic) players do well, obviously a bit of a cloud and uncertainty at the moment. The fact that Woy didn't give Vardy a run although the game was crying out for him and the Russians scored had me feeling that that'll teach the blithering idiot. Milner more impact than Vardy ??!! Rooney top ever scorer, although decent but not a midfielder and any better than Drinkwater in that role?
Sir Shep Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 I didn't cheer when Russia scored, I went really angry and Mardy even more so when Hart (who's kicking was awful most of the game) nearly allowed them a winner. I struggle to get behind England as it always seems to be the same old rubbish served up by the wrong players in a wrong system when it's blatantly obvious that there are better choices out there. I also reserve the right to be critical of the manager just like I was about Pleat, Taylor etc.
m4DD0gg Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Played well and didn't win, this has World Cup 2014 written all over it. We need Vardy to give us that killer instinct. We didn't play well then
m4DD0gg Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Woy will be gone when we are home a week on Tuesday but who to replace him? I cannot think of one single English candidate. Anyone saying neville needs to have a word. Already part of hodgsons mess and look at Valencia. Could genuinely see ranieri doing a job for England but before I get concerned about that I know it would never ever happen.
foxfanazer Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Think after this season we've just been accustomed to seeing our team win. England just haven't got a Riyad, Kante, Drinkwater (through choice) or a Wes
