EGBFitness Posted 8 July 2016 Posted 8 July 2016 Is this actually a rumour!? Doesn't make no sense to me, I know Everyon have had a takeover and have Koeman in charge but can't see how they would be more attractive than us!? I know we've just signed Zeiler but Everton have just signed Sketleberg (however spelt) too so no difference with competition. Kaspers a big character down here and seems the loyal type, can you remember how he was when he signed for us with Leeds? Before the euros there was talks over a new £100k a week contract, is it just another case of agents flirting to try and get the demands he wants as the talks could be going on a little longer than they hoped!?
Kitchandro Posted 8 July 2016 Posted 8 July 2016 In what way are Everton a bigger club than us , bearing in mind football has changed and it's no longer about fan base ? I would say they are a medium size club just like us . No way would you think them bigger than that. It will always be about fanbase. You can be richer, more currently successful, etc, but all that is temporary. Everton have been in the top flight for about 60 years anyway ffs. However, them being a bigger club is irrelevant. Schmeichel would have to be on crack to go there now.
Beliall Posted 8 July 2016 Posted 8 July 2016 Kasper - Everton are interested in me, can I have a better contract? LCFC - *sign zieler Kasper - nevermind

Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Imagine spending your entire career building yourself up and getting to the pinnacle of club football and then leaving for a club who apparently have a project. There is no certainty with regards to this project, just like anything else in football. However, you choose to go just to see if it works out and risk everything you spent your entire career trying to get. Simply put, if he goes, he is as daft as a brush. **** it. You all got great support from us fans. We will always be the club who made you what you're. Stuck by you when you misplaced a pass (Mahrez) or gave away a last minute penalty at Boro at home (Vardy), replaced probably the most technically gifted player we ever had (Kante) flapped like cheap hooker at a cross (Kasper) skied a sitter at Everton at home (Schlupp) or stank the place up for half a season so much so it would've made sense if we had sold you to Barnsley (Drinkwater). You are insulting yourselves and your so called team spirit! I'm fed up of the lack of integrity of this so called band of brothers. Go! I really am fed up of hearing all these rumours. Go and guess what, you will never acheive the pinnacle you did last year cos we have dressed up mutton as lamb for an entire season and the manner you are offering yourselves out at the moment proves that. **** risking the clubs future anymore. They were nothing when we signed them and guess what the ones who are unknowns now will be something when they finally choose to move on. Onwards and upwards.

He is already involved in a project, one that has led to him winning the Premier League and making the Champions League. I bet he never thought that would happen when the 'project' at Notts county fell apart. He's worked too hard for too long to give this up and must know it could be his only chance. Hopefully the 20M figure will put them off, if he even is for sale which I doubt, they will end up with Tim Krul.

LCFC - good at spotting talent, shite at negotiating

Foxes1 Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Don't know who Schmeichels agent is but I think he takes a lot of his advice from his dad and I can't see Peter telling him to go to Everton. If as people say Everton have a project how long is that going to take, it may be another 10 years, why would he want to go I mean thay are only the 4th biggest team on Merseyside behind Liverpool, Liverpool Reserves and Tranmere Rovers.

LCFC - good at spotting talent, shite at negotiating Would be the 3rd highest sale in the world for a goalkeeper and record fee ever paid by an English club. Just beaten by Manuel Neuer at £21m and smashed by buffon at £37m. Wouldn't sell him at all tho...worth much more than that to us!
Fox92 Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 It won't be true but £20mill would be a ridiculous price. Sell and get in a better goalkeeper for much less than £20mill. He isn't worth that much.

He isn't worth that much. Not the point! He's class for us and fits in with our ethos and squad. We don't need £5,10,20million. I'm already fuming at the fact ranieri openly said players can leave. We're premier league champions and need to keep the squad together!
Fox92 Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Such as? Schmeichel was arguably the best GK in the league last season. Dunno I'm not a scout. In recent years we've found the likes of Kncokaert, Mahrez, Kante etc from nowhere. I have full belief we could get a goalkeeper for much less than £20mill. £20mill is a ridiculous price to pay for a goalkeeper unless they are proper World Class like Buffon.

I'm already fuming at the fact ranieri openly said players can leave. We're premier league champions and need to keep the squad together! You've answered your own question. Players that don't want to be here don't fit our ethos and squad... If any player wants to leave, let them.
katieakita Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Think you will find Claudio has said he wont keep unhappy players which is a big difference. The press could also point out that our owners were going to spend £180 million making us a top 6 side which the majority laughed at like the majority had us bankers for relegation or Claudio first to be sacked. The press could also do a piece on the owners and their wealth and if you believe some the wealth of some of the other backers of the club, they could point out that since we won the Premier league and we kick off the new season Vichai's personal wealth has increased by enough to buy Paul Pogba, the press write and print many things but does not mean they are all true.

If any player wants to leave, let them. I didn't say players that don't want to be here?I said ranieri set a dangerous precedent by saying players can go. If I was a mahrez or Kante and had just won the league I'd feel the club lacked ambition by just accepting defeat immediately in terms of keeping me. No other premier league champion of old would say yep our players can go if they want. I'm not saying it would necessarily have made a difference with Kante but just as a PR message it's basically an open invitation to teams and agents to unsettle and bid for our players. That in itself can be the root of unhappiness for a player and then they go. And again to emphasise I feel Kante wanted to go regardless but we shouldn't lose more than 1 or 2 of players we wish to keep. Let's just hope Kante is the only one to go!

They were nothing when we signed them and guess what the ones who are unknowns now will be something when they finally choose to move on. Onwards and upwards. One..one player has decided to go.!!! Too many fans are losing it here. So far the fans are showing its themselves who have little integrity and have lost their banners of fearlessness. Media outlets, as expected are throwing their lines and hooks out to see what players, agents, clubs and fans will bite, they need their stories. Lets see how many of our players, stay and stand up to be counted before we start to criticise, the state of the game, our own players integrity, and pushing panic buttons, while hiding behind the sofa looking through spread fingers. Vardy tested the water, which was in his right, but realised his future lays at the KP Kante the expected mercenary got the move he was striving for, before he kicked a ball for Leicester. Mahrez who many expected on this forum, would be the 1st to agree a move a further a field, despite media utterings, at the moment he is still a fox. A statement or story in any of the media of a players possible transfer, does not destroy the group of players ethos, or character. If we lost suddenly now 3-5 players then we have a different situation..
Webbo Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Doesn't he live in Manchester? I think his wife works there as well. A nice house in Cheshire, sounds ideal.
MerseyBlue Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Hello... Everton fan in peace! My first post was in the Steve Walsh thread in this forum (page 7). Glad you won the league and a big admirer of what you guys have done. Certainly no beef with Leicester at all. Some very amusing responses in this thread! From an EFC pov, we would be delighted with Schmeichel, if a bit surprised. You can only think he'd give up the chance of CL football with you guys if he's been told he's no longer your first choice. Just a few points - we've finished in the top half of the Prem 8 times out of the last 10 years, which suggests the last 2 season when we didn't was an anomaly (hence the manager being sacked). Regarding the so-called project - it took Leicester 7 years to go from League One to Premier League Champions, so the idea that it would take Everton 10 years to achieve anything meaningful seems a big overestimation. Everton have the basis of a top 6 side with some good players - eg a 20+ goal striker in Lukaku (as long as we keep him), we've just had a very poor manager for the last 2 seasons. In the last 8 years, we've been to Wembley 4 times in the FA Cup, reaching 3 semis and a final, and have also been in the League Cup semis twice. So it's not like we haven't been close to winning something. A lot more than some other clubs (excluding yourselves naturally). If we can add to what we've got, now with a good manager, we should be able to progress. Like Leicester did!
CosbehFox Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 My honest gut is that some of his weaknesses would be exposed at another club. He doesn't claim crosses but it works here because of his understanding with Morgan and Huth who are happy to play deep. It's one position I wouldn't be too concerned with. We have a guy waiting in the wings whose been Germany's no.3 and has an excellent reputation
Sharpe's Fox Posted 17 July 2016 Posted 17 July 2016 Everton have been in the Prem since its conception, 3 times longer than us. We have still achieved more than them in that short time.
