theessexfox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 We've been very dominant, and not just passing back and forth, we've passed through the lines well on a number of occasions, got in behind on a number of occasions, Henderson and Wilshere have had some poor moments but I'd be very encouraged if I were Hodgson. Col is probably right when he says a goalscoring midfielder would seriously help this team, however.

We are very very average in this respect, in terms of real creativity AND midfield players who score enough goals. A Steve Gerrard or a Lampard in this side would have scored in this first half. Lallana isn't really good enough, Henderson bang average and Wilshere blows hot and cold. It's the midfield where we fall short IMO. Spot on Col.

The lack of shooting and poor finishing from our midfield is shocking. Lampard or Gerrard would've scored that Lallana chance. As would the pundit sat in the commentary box.
