TJB-fox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 **** no I don't want RVP, he's won the league and scored a hatful in the premier league and champions league! I would much rather prefer Hal Robson Kanu, who's won naff all and scored about 3 goals in a decade.
MPH Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Cambiaso was the absolute exception to signing an elderly former star who is looking for Pension top-up. This would not be a good signing for us. Burnley of China but not us please. RVP is 32. Cambiasso was 34 when he joined us
Babylon Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Unless we have a bright prospect in the youth team I have no issue signing someone that age to fill the 4th/5th choice striker role.
Bakey Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Funny how RVP on a free...is more of a gamble than £30 million on Deeney. Says it all
RoyFox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Just for the prospect of Arsenal imploding on the 20th of August, gerrimin. Imagine the utter nuclear meltdown from 'Arsenal Twitter' if Vardy and Van Persie scored...!!!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 People should remember the long lasting impact Kevin Phillips had on our strikers when he joined us - a players value should not just been seen in terms of his playing time, especially in situations like these.
RoyFox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 It truly defies belief that we have the luxury of whether RVP is good enough for us, imagine if you told someone this 5 years ago? You'd have been sectioned! Amazing times, keep pinching myself how ridiculous our rise is!
mozartfox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 People should remember the long lasting impact Kevin Phillips had on our strikers when he joined us - a players value should not just been seen in terms of his playing time, especially in situations like these. Lets give Jimmy Greaves and Geoff Hurst a call while we are at it.
ealingfox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 People should remember the long lasting impact Kevin Phillips had on our strikers when he joined us - a players value should not just been seen in terms of his playing time, especially in situations like these. Do you have any tangible or formally measurable evidence of this long-lasting impact? Who could forget the massive 11 goals Nugent, Vardy and Wood got between them in 2014/15?
ealingfox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Do people actually think Van Persie would come here and happily be 4th choice striker without ever making a fuss about it? Deary me.
crazylegs1984 Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I won't lie this is up there with signing cambiasso if we pulled it off , yes his knees are made of glass but he has goals in him and he's a complete athlete he hasn't played at the top level of football for this long without reason
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 It'd be easier to attract now more than ever I think. To be honest, I reckon if we offer him to come he would. Palace and West Ham reportedly interested too.
Realist Guy In The Room Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 He's got legs. He knows how to use them.
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Do people actually think Van Persie would come here and happily be 4th choice striker without ever making a fuss about it? Deary me. That was my first thought. I wish we'd bin this idea. We've got to where we got to by signing young and hungry, up and coming players, accompanied by a couple of more experienced guys. Huth being by far the most important one. RVP would surely want to play if he joined us. And he's far from the player he once was.

Who could forget the massive 11 goals Nugent, Vardy and Wood got between them in 2014/15? Phillips explained how he coached our strikers to be proficient at one touch finishing, because that was how most chances fell to strikers in and around the box - and when I considered some of the goals Vardy and Ulloa scored following that statement, it became clear to me how much of an impact that had on both strikers performance.

SheppyFox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 I would love this to happen, just so we can see Arsenal fans crying if he scores for us against them.
foxy boxing Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Will the Leicester players RSVP to Rvp's friend requests
Rushden fox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 is he signing? Not a single shred of evidence to support this rumour
Guest Col city fan Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 Not a single shred of evidence to support this rumour This really is a bull-shit thread. If we are going to discuss the pros and cons of a potential signing, at least base it on some fookin evidence that it's likely.
FireFox Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 How does this get to 5 pages but the Balotelli one gets locked before getting onto the 2nd page? We were at least linked with him last summer. And he also made a social media post when we won the league.
filbertstreet Posted 5 July 2016 Posted 5 July 2016 can't wait for the limited edition robin van persil when we win the champions league
