Robin Van Persie

Experienced in prem and champions league, brilliant finished, wouldn't need pace bearing in mind the players he'd be surrounded by... Although it'll never happen.

This isn't going to happen I'm sure of it,Rvp would be a disaster, the exact opposite of our teamwork based ethos,my mrs's pal does the TV makeup for some of the pundits and some players, says everyone at arsenal thought he was a right bellend.

Not sure. Very iffy source, but could have some legs (unlike RVP, hoho!). An experienced head among the forwards could be just the ticket for the Champions League. We have gone for experience before - Philips and (at the back) Wasilewski. I don't think we need anyone at the back and an old pro in the middle wouldn't suit our game, but a wily poacher could fit well into the squad. Van Persie ticks every box for experience and quality, I wasn't sure about his fitness but if he's kept injury-free over the last year then that answers the question for me. We'll clearly sound him out on attitude and he can't expect to start most games unless he's an absolute revelation, so needs to be fully comfortable with the role we expect. And at his age, the squad mentor type role with an important part to play in the Champions League should really be quite appealing.

If not RVP, I'd be keen on someone of similar status and experience to have the same sort of impact as Defoe at Sunderland.

That could be a good sign couldn't it, given most of us think the Arsenal squad is full of bellends?

We used to get excited about signing players like Moreno in the not so distant past and now we're turning our noses up at Robin Van Persie. WHAT A JOURNEY!

When Arsenal and then Utd let him go says it all for me. I don't believe he has the passion anymore for the battles. He was a great player but I believe we can do a lot better and more in keeping with our Philosophy, Young hungry and on the way up.

I hate Robin van Persie with a passion. Everything from his attitude to that puffed out cheek celebration he does. Surely he's everything we don't look for in a player's personality? Also very injury prone nowadays too.

Why would we sign a seventy five year old with glass knees?

Makes no sense.

Complete opposite of a Leicester signing.

Champions league second round, Leicester down 2-1 on aggregate at home. One goal will take them through on away goals, enters Van Pierce with 10 minutes to go. Games in tight spaces, with teams siting back, he has amazing anticipation, movement in tight spaces, and acute finishing even now. If his mind is right and they had a meeting with him to ascertain this, what is down the down side? As far as his personality and work ethic, people are different things at different times, nothing is ever black and white so I am sure Ranieri will be able to see where his mind is at.

to be fair i was thinking the same thing but then i saw he played 45 times last season scoring 20 goals , he can't be suffering that much with injuries.

Cambiasso

Wasyl

Phillips

Hammond

Huth

Powell

To name a few, we often sign an older player here or there. Certainly wouldn't say it's the opposite of what we do. In fact it's something we did a bit more of after the Watford play off season as we'd focussed too much on youth.

Seems quite slow now, so really wouldn't be much point.

we wouldn't be signing the bloke to race on to through balls. He's come in when others are defending deep and we're laying siege. Think Norwich, West Brom, Bournemouth type games.

Probably bollocks, doubt it will happen.

Why do people think he's got an 'attitude'? Because he left the Arsenal bottlers in dodgy circumstances to actually win something at Utd? Seem to remember LVG making him Netherlands captain after initially dropping him from the team altogether because he was so impressed with his attitude. The bloke was the best striker in the world a few years back, i'm sure he'd still be able to offer us something if it did happen.

all this talk about him coming here is just because he has followed Mahrez & Vardy on twitter yes ?

is he not following other footballers from other teams to ?

sorry i am not on twitter so i cant see for myself .

Can't tell if you're joking or not.

would be pretty cool having another class player rock up. probably want mad wages though.

also a "name" like this could swing one or two signings or one or two current players into staying. if we tell foreign kids we're scouting and competing with other teams about the great cambiasso, the chance to link up with van persie in training etc it might make them think twice rather than just saying what is a leicester
