Defending is absolutely dog shit.

Reasons to be concerned -

- We don't look settled

- Defensively look poor

- Have we decided on number 1 GK

- Jetlag/fitness

Reasons to chill out -

- It's a friendly

- Opportunity to assess ourselves against some big teams

- Forces the chequebook open on reinforcements/improvements

- White kits looks great lol

Result doesn't matter but we need to get Hernandez on with Morgan for second half because we will be missing Huth at start of season.  Or Fuchs inside and Chilwell at left back?

Can't read too much into this game. We were completely in the game until we conceded. As soon as that first goal went in it allowed Barca to start playing with freedom. One thing that this game does emphasise is the need to take your chances. Despite Barca's dominance we have created some good chances but haven't put them away. We shouldn't be too disheartened, we're playing an amazing side who'd turn over some of the World's best so let's not criticise the guys too much.

We've been naive up front because we had chances and were in the game for a good twenty minutes, at least show your quality.

Goals conceded were class, not many complaints there, that pass for the third was crazy.

Take your arfing chances, ball goes in the net

At least Celtic scored and looked like they could string a few passes in the final third, this is a tad embarrassing

they were gifted their goal ffs.

The premiership teams have really been awful in the pre season tournaments

Man utd - won 1 lost 1

Man city - won 0, lost 1, drew 1

spurs - lost both

chelsea - won 1 lost 1

liverpool - won 1 lost 2

Leicester - lost both

No way would we play without a midfield 5 against barca in a competitive game. it's a work out. Shame about the publicity that will follow it but Claudio and the boys need to have it in perspective. should get them wound up nicely for Sunday.

Second was flukey as! No way would Huth allow that to happen when playing full throttle. Likewise Vardy would have professionally fouled messi on the builf up to the third.

You have to remember it is preseason. No one wants to be injured in these games. I know they are meant to be competitive but in reality we are playing at half pace here. Barcelona want it more, likewise PSG did too.

There are positives to take and i won't much more into it than that.

Jesus H Christ will people stop the fcuking meltdowning?!

2 of the most ruthless attackers in the world have ripped us apart - it's not like we're struggling against Rotherham. This is a preseason friendly designed to get our fitness levels up and for Claudio to tinker - it means fcuk all other than that.

As it happens apart from some defensive errors against 2 of the most dangerous players in the world (one currently sentenced to prison, the other managing to find game time between regular bans for being a disgusting human being), I actually think we've played quite well and come quite close to scoring against one of the best teams in the word.

everyone chill for fcks sake.

If Gray stays on the pitch, we need to get him on the ball more. Sometimes there's so much space down that right hand side he's on but no one spotting the run.

It's not nice viewing, granted, but it's nothing to be concerned about.

It reminds me of when we first got promoted in 2014-15. There's a naïvety there and Barcelona are clearly a cut above in terms of class. But if we can keep getting to the top table, we'll get better at it. Just look at how far PSG and Man City have come on the European stage in the last few years. It takes time, and if we can keep going and qualifying for the CL, we'll compete with the really elite teams.

But games like this won't indicate the kind of performance against your pot 2, 3 and 4 sides in the CL. Granted there are top sides in those pots, but we're actually decent as well, you know. Even seasoned European campaigners like Arsenal get routinely torn to shreds by the likes of Barca.

Edit: typo correction

this is just a workout for the lads, they don't care about the score and neither should we its not important. You people really think we'd be this open in a competitive match?
