Livid Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 We matched them but it just didn't seem to be there for us today. We just seemed off in so many areas. We weren't poor but I've seen better.

Foxhateram Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Slightly concerned about the sloppy defending for the first but we looked pretty solid other than that. The second goal felt like we got caught pushing. Musa looks like a fantastic addition and Mendy put in some Kante esque challenges. Lots of positives to take again. United put out their first team and we matched them. If Musa had finished that chance we would all be celebrating in the streets again. Very close game. Albrighton seemed well off the pace which is a real shame. He has been brilliant for us over the last few seasons. He will lose his place to Gray and Schlupp if he continues to play like that. Some people being harsh on Kingy again who made some fantastic challenges down the middle of the park and picked out some decent passes. I never understand why people don't see these things. Hernandez shaky at RB but had a big challenge in keeping Rashford quiet. I think he looks like he has potential though. Overall we have a really exciting young side that is only going to get better again.

It was like going in a time machine back to our first season where everything went against us lol. After PSG, Barca and Man U on the bounce, a managerless Hull should be a bit better but being us, we'll end up bloody losing.

Callabinho Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 I thought it was relatively easy for United, they seemed to me like they could have taken it up a few gears and it was a bit of a stroll about for them. I'm worried about our midfield...I'm yet to be impressed with Mendy.

They hardly challenged our goal and we had as many clear cut chances as they did.
The Guvnor Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Kante broke up the opposition play in midfield and quickly turned into attack unfortunately we do not have that quality now, thought our long passing was a bit off the pace, maybe Kasper could have positioned himself a little better for Zlatans goal. Next game move on.

Next game move on. But there were atleast 4 or 5 times in the second half we did this beautifully. Just the final ball wasn't happening for us today.

There were a few times when he had gone past a man and then ran into trouble when perhaps laying the ball off would have been a better option. I think the second goal wouldn't of happened had we not made all the subs we had at the back. Plus Ibra was offside by at least a nose. In my opinion, I'd like to see this against Hull: Schmeichel Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Gray Drinkwater Mendy Mahrez Vardy Musa

Blue Ed Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 An even match I thought. I thought Sinje was ok first half it would be great to find a way to play him Vardy and Musa together. Mahrez was not to bad people thinking he was awful just not the case. Fuchs coming off may have led to their second goal
LcFc_Smiv Posted 7 August 2016 Posted 7 August 2016 Mahrez w@nk, defence not good enough, Vardy had to play off scraps, Albrighton, Mahrez and Gray to some extent offered little, pretty poor display today, don't think it represents how we will play against Hull but we could have gave a better showing of ourselves.
