LCCFox96 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We missed Huth a fair bit there. A very poor start. We just lack the sharpness, alertness and efficiency of last season, as we did against United at Wembley. The amount of misplaced passes in the final 3rd, dodgy defensive clearances and slow speed with which we moved the ball was shocking. That was a game we SHOULD have got something from and to come away with no points is a big underachievement for us. Hull deserved the win today.
KFS Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 3 things from me: Kasper needs to iron out some of the horse shit he serves up every now and then. Today seemed to be a culmination of a few of those incidents. Reminded me of Chelsea away two seasons ago where he just looked out of his depth. He's just been part of a league winning team, yet looked a shadow of that player today. Kingy. Legend of course, but did he even play today? A few good headers but Dan Amartey looked so much more effective in a short cameo. You lot. "Win it 5-0"- this isn't league 1 any more. I hope the mods can delete that pre-match thread because it'll be fvcking embarrassing reading tomorrow morning let me tell you. Mid table does me this year, but it's going to take some getting used to watching us regress back to our "nearly amazing but not quite" selves of two years ago.
EGBFitness Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 My one and only post then I'm logging off and sitting in a dark from for 48 hours I'm not going to go into a meltdown as its one defeat, it can and will happen this season but that was a joke! We seem to think we are guaranteed a win before we turn up and living in last seasons success still. Pre season has offered little to be encouraged about and today has basically summend up what a lot feared. Tactically we we looked all over the place! Was a complete mess! We had 5 strikers on the pitch and had 5 shots on target! For a team that was set up to be attacking we was woeful! In fact we looked like a team that's never played with each other before! Musa was the only positivity from today's game but why does he have to pass to Vardy rather than take the shot himself? Basics of of the game was terrible, poor control, poor passing, two players going for the same ball - it was a disgrace to watch. Huth was missed, ive rated Hernadez in pre season but he was a liability! Lucky to be on the pitch aswell! Vardy is is well off any form of match fit! Lost his energy, looks slower, wasteful in front of goal. Mahrez and Gray very wasteful! Expecting big things this season from both but looks so poor! How many times did they both lose the ball. King and drinky don't work! Kante is missed! For a player of his quality we need to spend more than £30m and that's why we was short changed in his transfer! Defence look shaky without his protection, we look to have lost energy, over ran in midfield, allowed hull to go through the middle and generally looked so unorganised! Big changes are needed wether tactically with Ranieri or new faces. Very very very very disappointing!
Guest Manini Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Makes you realise doesn't it. Last season literally counts for nothing anymore, and nor should it by the way! We we should have taken our chances in the first half, as simple as that. Score them and the games dead. As time went on we allowed them to settle in to the game. Bit concerned with how many chances we created in the second half with that many attackers on the pitch. It was a good performance from Hull, typical first game of the season back in the prem showing though. Still think they'll struggle this year but good luck to them, wouldn't mind them proving me wrong. I do think we should have done our own thing in terms of preseason, but I suppose in a business sense you can't turn the ICC down, definitely doesn't seemed to have done us any favours though, we look off the pace. Up to claudio to do a bit of managing now, needs to give them a bollocking. It's all fun and games ringing an imaginary bell when you're winning but it doesn't quite wash when you've just lost to Hull on the opening day. Hope he gets right in to them and tells them how it is. They looked a shambles today, like they just wanted to live off past glories. We're not ****ing Liverpool boys I want to win it again!!!!
Drygon Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Quite funny to follow the meltdown of when Drinkwater wasn't selected for the Euros, despite his dreadful England displays. He's an average player to be honest, carried by Kanté and the system Claudio Ranieri set up.
Jakemoore Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We were absolutely awful today. We lacked fight, we lacked composure to play football, we didn't counter attack the way we can. It was horrible ti watch. But let's not go in to meltdown. It's only one game...

iancognito Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 That's what happens when you go on a pointless pre-season glamour tour and spend more time on planes than on a football pitch. Players are playing like strangers and three defeats in a row - friendly or not - obliterates confidence. We need to go back to basics and realise we are the team to beat. That said if Vardy buries his chances it's a much different game. I'm off now before the doom-mongers take over.

He should have known that from preseason. Why play Hernandez against a big powerful aerial team, tailor made for Was. Not to mention 442 with out kante doesn't work. Added to this we saw the return of calamity Morgan and why Hernandez s last team got relegated. Poor preparation and display. Yep. King in a 442 is not something I really want to see. If it is going to be 442 someone who wins the ball needs to be in there.. id go with Amartey and Drinkwater.

Drinkwater is still comfortably one of Englands best CMs
ozvaldo Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We look unfit. Clueless at the back. No bite in midfield. Couldn't put a chance away. Absolutely shit. Deserved to lose.
NeilLCFC Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Probably one of, if not, the worst displays since we got promoted.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Most toothless and lazy performance from a City team for a while. Actually for first time walked out and looked arrogant and assumed we'd walk over them and win comfortably. Mahrez didn't look bothered and Vardy played like he was back in 2012. For first time I think Claudio got it well wrong too. Was concerned at team selection with no Okazaki or Alrbrighton. Morgan looked sluggish again and was at fault for the first goal. Think Hernandez did grow into the game though. Attacking play was again like we were back in the Championship and shit. Toothless. Did we even really test their keeper? ****ing hate Hull even more. Take a point next week
FrankieADZ Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 we was poor all over the park for me, then again I had a feeling we would lose after all the Champions cup stuff and all the travelling and everything. pretty gutless performance on the whole for me

What on earth happened to this forum it's full of these no DP, weird username, doom mongering freaks at the minute! Have a wank or a hot bath mate. Its all all going to be okay!
FireFox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Disgraceful performance. Vardy, Kasper, and Morgan the worst of them. Please don't be giving out any more new contracts.
roylandski Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 One change to the back 4 exposed how poor the defence and how weak the squad is.
eastendfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I think I'm going to relive last season endlessly, play the dvd every time we have a game, and pretend football ended in May 2016.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 They're all coming out on Radio Leicester again. Must have been a lonely 12 months.
fazzyfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Musa's erratic end product doesn't help when you're trying not to get frustrated, decision making, Schlupp apart, has been one of our strengths, Musa's decision making process seems to be set to random, just a bit of composure from him and Vardy and we'd have scored some of those chances in the first half. Too many over hit and under hit passes and crosses, flicks instead of trapping it, continuing runs instead of playing people in, playing people in where keeping it was the better option. Overall there may be some merit in the argument that more games and less travel would benefit us but going into the Champions League without those international friendlies would be even more daunting. Something wasn't right (no shit Sherlock) we looked like a bunch of individuals with lots of unsuccessful passes and overhit crosses, cohesion and composure was missing.
