Durnerz Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Morgan was the worst of the bunch by far, complete contrast to last season, just shows how vital Huth is. Huge gap between midfield and the forwards, no working the channels almost as if Vardy was still on England duty. Plus points, Musa looks decent and I think with time the team will improve but as for champions we looked a million miles from that team today. Credit to Hull.
Vlad the Fox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We're not ready for the season. Fitness isn't there, neither is sharpness and understanding between the players and system, pre-season tournaments travelling halfway round the world for one match is ridiculous. Apart from from that i'd have played Was with Morgan.
ScouseFox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 also as us clever folk knew pre match, we need shinji more than we know

Hull came fourth, scraped up through the play offs and then lost their best player to Newcastle.

It's ducking pointless thought, being constructive is saying maybe Amartey could have started instead of King or Albrighton instead of Gray. To keep harping on about a player who wanted to leave is idiotic at best. Also read your last sentence, take your own advice maybe?

Guest Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 What did I take from that: Huth has been the most important player in our team since the day we signed him. He holds together an average back 4 5. Musa is a good buy and will do well. Probably be our top player. Vardy isn't match fit, which is understandable King shouldn't be in the team Mahrez didn't play well - not sure why as this game he didn't have 3 defenders on him and he didn't play during the summer. Drinky is a top player. Gray played well. Conclusions: I like the look of our potential attack. If Mahrez and Vardy had been even their normal average we would have been dynamic as Musa and Gray were good. I'm worried about our defence. When Huth isn't playing, Morgan isn't confident, Simpson and Fuchs need more help. Shocked that Mendy wasn't even on the bench, King isn't a PL contending starter and we've got to hope that Mendy is. Plan A didn't work today and neither did Plan B or Plan C.

Said pre game, King is not good enough to start. Not that he was worse than anyone else. A loss is a loss, it's the nature of how we played that's more concerning. Kante really was exceptional. Really though we might try 3 in midfield today due partly to the Kunte effect oh well onwards and hopefully upwards
wokinghamfox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Dare i say it but we desperately missed the little shit in the middle today. Also Hull had today what we had in abundance last season and that was spirit.
Tuna Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We need some quality experienced signings. We don't need players who may be good in 3 years time. Look who are rivals are signing...you can't tell me Townsend, Benteke, van Persie or Ayew wouldn't have been good options for the squad. Spend some fcucking money and give us a chance.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 A lot of us said we hadn't sufficiently strengthened.. I don't think we have. Midfield relatively poor at this level. Defence suddenly looks shaky (no coincidence) and limited supply to the strikers. Poor......
sm1 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Ranieri needs to take as much blame as the players. King and Drinkwater doesn't work. He should have known that from preseason. Why play Hernandez against a big powerful aerial team, tailor made for Was. Not to mention 442 with out kante doesn't work. Added to this we saw the return of calamity Morgan and why Hernandez s last team got relegated. Poor preparation and display.
Callabinho Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Well absolutely nothing to take from that other than absolute negativity. You can say what you want "foxes talk melt down" "call yourself a fan" but that was ****ing pathetic. Firstly the formation, totally wrong we've already seen in pre season that without Kante we can't play 4-4-2, it may be getting boring now but it's the blunt truth. Last season we were able to force teams out wide and force them to put balls into the box which meant Huth and Morgan weren't exposed and only had to worry about defending, unfortunately for us it was down to one man that allowed us to do this. The only way we can replicate this is to try 3 in the middle. Face facts we've lost the best central midfielder in the world at what he does. There was no link up between the midfield and the attack, so we just resorted to smashing the ball upfield in hope both 6 foot plus, Livermore and Davies would miss a header for Vardy or Musa to run into. It's early yes, but it seems as though Vardy and Musa are going to struggle to play together, they seem to like the same channel to run into, so it's creating uncertainty going forward. Hull unsettled us and then frankly were comfortable from the second goal onwards. We looked toothless in attack and kept giving the ball away at every given opportunity. If today is anything to go by we're in for a kind old season, it just proves that our defence is now exposed. People say that our defence improved when we installed Simpson and Fuchs but really it improved once Kante had settled in his role. im afraid we've got to get the wallet out, but next week with that defence is going to be painful.

desertfox2 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Missed Huth. Said it last week and will say it again what worries me is that we have lost Kante and are starting with King. Andy King is a legend but let's be honest he should not be in the starting 11 of a top side. Losing a world class player and playing an average player in his place is not going to work. We need Mendy to be very, very good.
foxyblue Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Are we Chelsea from last season, went on pre-season travelling all over the world to get publicity and media and looked what happened to them.should have stayed here and had pre-season to get players fit and gel together.they should be 100% fit now not 60%.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 I said after the PSG game we really need to sign some quality... it is a must.. we need to use champions league football to attract players we normally wouldn't get. Do this while we can
lee7 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Gray showed just how inconsistent he can be. Hernandez was shaky to say the least. A very quiet game from Vardy and Mahrez also. I said it at half time but we deserved to be losing and overall today we deserved to lose. Hull really wanted it today and we simply did not turn up.

Guest Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 We just lost to probably the worst team in the prem but it's not the end of the world. It's one week.
Zear0 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Poor. No link up at all between the front and the back. Feel our strength was that everyone knew exacly their role and where they should be, there was none of that of that today. Praying Mendy comes good when he's available as there was absolutely no midfield cover for the defence. Hopefully we get back to doing what we excelled at last season and we take our chances. Yes we were shockling, but Vardy should have taken at least one of his chances. No kneejerk reaction from me but definatly want to see a better team performance next week. Credit to Hull, playing with zero expectation like we did last season takes so much of the pressure off and they took their chances. Let's hope we play faster instead of the slow build up we did today. Reminds me of England trying to play continental passing football, we need to stick with what we're good at. Bring on next week and well done to Hull.
SheppyFox Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 Ah, normality restored! That's better! Morgan was horrible like he has been all pre season, maybe the little fella Kante disguised how bad our defence is all last season
desertfox2 Posted 13 August 2016 Posted 13 August 2016 When was the last time a side out worked us? We needed a wake up call let's hope this was it
