Kasper's distribution.

There were times today in the second half when we were under the cosh and Kasper was just throwing/booting it straight to an Arsenal player. Then there were times when we looked to have a counter attack on and he held it, letting the Arsenal men get back.

Kasper needs to think things through more. There were times when a simple roll out to the wings were the better option, especially when the game became stretched, but i'm just really fed up with his inability to play the ball the simple ball. Kasper should have realised that Arsenal have a very quick defence and that balls over the top don't work like they do against lesser opposition.

I'm happy with him as a keeper but I think it's holding him back from becoming a top 5/6 in the world keeper. I think he's that good, but his distribution has been really, really poor recently and it's frustrating to see.

Were you the guy in SK4? Someone behind me made it so Kasper couldn't do anything right. When played quickly and it was intercepted the guy was shouting all sorts then when he held it he got an equal amount of stick.  Poor bloke can't win.  There were 3 or 4 passes he played that nearly released Vardy, you wouldn't be moaning if they had come off.

I think when he was holding on to it, it was to kill the momentum Arsenal were picking up in the last 15(ish) minutes of the game. They were piling men forward and at times had 5 or 6 players in the box. No point in booting it out only to have pressure piled back on you.

I can see why he would hold on to it but like you say, we could have distributed it out quickly but then Arsenal have quick player anyway to recover.

Kept a clean sheet and that, for me, is the most important thing, regardless of who we play.

His distribution will always be criticised on here and it's definitely one thing he can improve. But I think he's set in his ways. At times he has brilliant distribution (see Vardy's goal against Utd last season as one of the best examples).

Like I said previously when I got banned from that thread, his distribution is shocking. It's like he doesn't even think.

We've gotta accept the rough with the smooth when it comes to Kasper. Good at some stuff and no so good at other stuff. By no means the complete keeper but qualty at what he does well. I'm sure he's working on his distribution and studying his performances week in week out and will improve it over time.

lol

No, I actually really like him. I think he's brilliant but it's so annoying when we're under the cosh and he just boots it straight back to the other team.

I get what he's doing. He's taking the chance to get us in one on one. But there has to be times when you acknowledge that it's not working. The last 10 minutes or so he started playing the easy ball out to the wings and we profited much more from it.

What Kasper is trying to do is going to be ineffective more often then not but there is no doubt with the pace in the team it's a weapon to be used. I do agree with the fact that it should be managed better, ie. when we are on top, but then we lose that element of surprise.

His distribution was hopeless today in fairness. Its never perfect, but he does pull some great stuff off. Today, it was finding Arsenal and only arsenal.

Terrible distribution as usual. He needs to sort it out .If he doesn't we should give the German a go.

I think the criticism of his distribution is exaggerated. 50-60 yard passes to the wings are always going to be 50/50 balls. That's how he's been told to play and it often works.

Ah, glad I'm not the only one who noticed him holding on to it at the wrong times. I think he was trying to 'calm' everything before kicking it to one of their players.

It's frustrating when like last week against Hull his distribution puts us under pressure and consequently cost us.

At the same time though sometimes it comes off!

As we are a counter attacking team he has to be looking to release the ball early.

Mate you don't know how long I've been saying exactly this:blush:

If he concentrates on when to release and when to hold, his distribution is absolutely fantastic- and is a great weapon.

However he regularly kicks the ball away in ridiculous situations in which the opposition just win the ball back easily and come right back at us. He HAS to stop doing this or we will concede important goals eventually, there's only so long our defence can keep wave after wave of attack out, especially against the better sides.

Re: not a dig at Kasper I think he is an excellent GK

He's Kasper Schmeichel, he's won us the premier league, he's the best fooking goalie we've ever had and I'm a big Gordan Banks, Peter Shilton fan who I consider the two previous best. How many of you detractors are 100% perfect in your job day in day out, never make or repeat errors? I would dearly love to see a camera on some of you lot while you're at work and have this forum and the whole LCFC employees from top on down to the newest academy signing watching you. Whattaya think they would be saying about you? Do you bring 100% every day? Do you perform flawlessly every day. If we paid to come see you work would you perform flawlessly never  making errors knowing that thousands of people are watching you. Yeah criticizing is easy until you're the one being criticized. Kasper ain't perfect  no goalie is but he's the best goalie we've ever had and I'll take his 90% shot stopping over his 70% distribution any game of the week.

The ball is like a ticking timebomb, he can't get rid of it quick enough, that does lead to counter attacks don't get me wrong, but pick and choose them, change them up abit.

He's distribution really does piss me off! Always has.
