Vardy has 6 in 11. Enough said. Dunno why we fired owl faced hodgson with that lineup. Poor selection only hoping his substitution pattern is much better. Clearly we doNt believe in best form which is our downfall. Hope sam pulls it together but right off the bat this is straight up wankish.

Dan Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 How serious is Shaw's injury? I really rate him and I find it disappointing he's missing out.
ARM1968 Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 It didn't take much to be outstanding for us during the euros.

foxes_rule1978 Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Can't believe Henderson starts , the lineup I'm quite surprised about... do the FA really manage the team? Why isn't even Sam picking players who deserve a place more than the overhyped rubbish

Not surprised we have a nation full of failures who have achieved nothing at international level when you see the dribble ex pro's come out with. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/29327/10563033/carra-on-sam8217s-england-xi On Stones - "Considering the start to the season he's made, I think Sam has to build through him from the back." - As apposed to building through the middle with Drinkwater who has been outstanding this season but picking Henderson who has had a shocker for the last 18 months? "Dier was the outstanding player for England at Euro 2016, so he was always going to play, and Jordan has great experience in there internationally now. It's up to them to show Sam is right." - He scored a free kick. Big fcucking deal. Describing anything as outstanding in relation to Euro 2016 is an outrage in itself. "Jordan came in for one game and did very well too, and with my Liverpool hat on, I hope they do well." Jordan came in for one game and did very well too, and with my Liverpool hat on, I hope they do well." - Erm, no he didn't Jamie. He was shit. And you can take your Liverpool hat off and replace it with a dunce hat. Used to think Carragher was all right. Emphasis on used to. He makes Danny Mills sound sensible.

Dier was the outstanding player for England in the Euros so it's only fair he keeps his place. Dier outstanding are you serious? He scored a free kick and all of a sudden he's our saviour. He was just as shit as the rest of them.

Bloody play the best players not the ones who have the biggest sponsorships and wage packets...
Webbo Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I would think with the new wage deal Drinkwater is on more than Dier.
Dan Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I rate Dier but I'd probably say he was one of the "less shit" in France.
Donut Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I think Harry Kane gets a rough deal on here to be honest. Hes very very good. But in a bad patch of form. Hes the first player everyone on here kicks the f out of. I felt sorry for him having such a bad euros, its not like he was alone in that though. Hes a prolific goalscorer and we need to find a way to utilise him AND Vardy together in a team. Drinkwater not featuring is bizarre though. He could be EXACTLY what we need, considering we seem to want a possession based style of play. So why not pick someone who dictates the tempo and rarely misplaces a pass? its counter intuitive.

Dan Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 I agree that Kane gets a rougher time on here than he probably deserves although I think it's natural reaction to circumstance. His flaws will always be highlighted more on here.
NewEnglandFox Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Vardy is England's leading goalscorer for 2016. Their star striker just blanked at a major tournament... Yup.
Donut Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Giving Rooney the captaincy is a bit of an issue too. I thought he was one of our better (ok....less bad) players at the Euro's other than that infamous Iceland game in the 2nd half, but with the captaincy now, he basically has to play. And that will take us up to 2 years to another tournament and i dont think he is as effective as other options. If Mourinho starts playing him in a deep midfield role, and he excels in it then fine, but his inclusion is always going to force someone out of a position because he cant play up top as effectively as Kane and Vardy, he cant play as a 10 as effectively as Alli (in my opinion) and he isnt a natural central midfielder. So although he is a talisman and a leader, and the best leader we have probably, he causes a headache.

Donut Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Its the Henderson inclusion that is the one that i find the strangest. Im not sure what he offers, in any team he plays in. I look at him and i cant think of a standout attribute he has...... i dont view him as very creative, yet he doesnt read the game like a top class defensive midfielder. And even if he did, Dier plays that role, and plays it well, shielding the back 4. He doesnt control the game the way that someone like Kroos would, or Pirlo would, who would sit in the middle of the pitch and everything would go through him. But having said he doesnt do that, its not like he bursts into the box either late. He hardly scores a goal. All i can say about him is, he is basically a donkey with a good engine.
ozvaldo Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 The FA must be behind picking the starting 11. I'm not even being biased, Henderson is just shit. Drinky has to start over him everyday of the ****ing week.
J.Lisemore Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 It's a simple game lads, you play the best players. Drinkwater was instrumental in a premier league winning team last season, Henderson was average, if not lower. Rooney has been awful for years, (people can't even agree on where he plays anymore) Vardy is on fire. This isn't Leicester biased... This is COMMON SENSE.

Corky Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Why would the FA be behind the selection? All I've heard is since the appointment is that Allardyce isn't a yes man and will make his own mind up. Just because it's similar to Hodgson's doesn't mean he's being dictated to.
