I expected determined and effective players would be the ones who'd get picked under Allardyce. That's not what we've got here.
Blackpool Fox 69 Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Sam old story!!! Henderson and No Goals Vane, knew it was coming, swapped with a Villa fan to work Sunday, felt sorry for him (Villa) and knew it would be the same old rubbish!
st albans fox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Well played agent shakey - keep our boys fresh !!
Matt Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Urgh, so I slagged Woy off and he needed slagging off, but I think it shows now the FA has a strong say in selection, they've got to, that's the only explanation I can come up with. Let's just hope Sam's tactics are better than Woy's, otherwise nothing has changed.

It's what the FA wanted whilst Hodgson was there. Hodgson was useless but he's not the main issue here. Until there's a noticeable change in mindset and philosophy from the FA then I'm out. I hope Drinkwater & Vardy pull out and spend more time with a proper football club, not this sponsor pleasing mess.
Larry_LCFC Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Absolutely laughable. Same old hopeless shit. Wouldnt think we just got whipped in a major competition with that shower of crap.

We will win and qualify but with crap like this probably not get out of the group stages.
Fox 4 Life Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Meh, the little interest I had has now completely gone.
TheMightySystem Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 I can't even be arsed to get angry anymore, just disappointed. Thought Sam would have a back bone but apparently not ( and before anyone says that the FA pick the team, accepting the job under those conditions is even worse then picking that team himself imo)
EnderbyFox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 So 8 out of the 11 who started the game against Iceland? Oh and one of the changes is bringing in the utterly useless Jordan Henderson, lovely stuff.

weller54 Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Couldn't give a flying Fart about England!.. Nothing will change under Fat Sam.. Different name.. Same old shit!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Thank the Lord Drinky and Vardy will be fresh for City... Oooohh I cannot wait for the game in Sunday vs Slovakia to be on ITV and it to be commentated on by Clive Tyldesley whereby England will be struggling to break down Slovakia until Rooney saves us on about 68 minutes with the first goal.... And Tyldesley will shout "Roooonney".
brucey Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Why upset half the squad two days before the game?
whoareyaaa Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Henderson the complete myth of English football

EGBFitness Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Knew Sam didn't have a back bone, he'd do anything to get the England job. Same old england, until the powers of the FA are removed it's barely worth wasting time, money or effort on this pile of shit. If I were the likes of some of the so called fringe players I would just announce retirement unless change in circumstances E.G massive sponsorship money. Literally the most embarrassing exit to a major competition in the countries history and the same team is basically picked again - just added more shit in Henderson.
st albans fox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Given how much different Slovakia's prep would be defending against a vardy/Kane front two or a Kane on his own, I do wonder what benefit there is to be gained from naming your team so far in advance?
Carl the Llama Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Genuinely unsure that side can beat Slovakia. Had my concerns about our future line ups the second Sam came out with the whole 'easy to keep Rooney as captain' bollocks and Rooney's 'I'm retiring after the 2018 World Cup' horror announcement. Basically we won't be seeing a sensible England squad until 2019 at the earliest, see you all then.

I'd not be at all surprised to see the same happen again, regardless of how embarrassing it would be because as it turns out, Slovakia were dross after all, and we still couldn't beat them, or even score. It irks me more because it's our players, I get that, but how can there be so little change after such a disgraceful tournament?
filbertway Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Yes Sam! I don't even care about the team. It's 100% for me the mind set of the players. I love how much stick Henderson gets but when you compare his 90 minute metrics from last season to drinkies they're pretty much similar. http://www.squawka.com/comparison-matrix#premier_league/2015/2016/jordan_henderson/641/165/86/0/p|premier_league/2015/2016/daniel_drinkwater/641/165/10693/0/p#key_passes/assists/chances_created/goals_scored/interceptions/pass_completion/tackles_won/tackles_lost#90 Could stick out a team from the conference if you want major changes to the line up. Christ. At least see how we look under Sam after 6-12 months before you form an opinion of how good he is or how much of a yes man he is.
lcfcben76 Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 If Sam makes this starting 11 work then fair play to him but it really is a joke and i reckon the FA do have influence in team selection after this shambles. Hope we scrape a 1-0 win after 90mins of shit because maybe the fa and Sam will see the light, we can only dream
