Same old same old...Sam out!!! England fcucking hotspur again, didn't we learn anything from the Euro's. Sam has proven himself even before his first game to be an establishment man, what a tosser. I couldn't give a flying fcuk if we loose.

I presume he's using the same old for this game given that Slovakia away should be the toughest game, to get a draw or 1-0 win, then hopefully he'll phase in some new players after, heres hoping anyway.

The "same old" were humiliated at the hands of Iceland. The "same old" couldnt beat Slovakia. If there was ever a time to phase in new players, its now, not next game or the game after. You send out your message from the start. Same old shit with England sadly.

Worth bearing in mind that Vardy played up front against Slovakia only 2 months ago and was almost totally nullified.

I remeber watching at 7am in 2002 to see us lose to Brazil in the quarter finals thanks to another goalie error. I loved supporting England, you felt they were competetive and on the verge of achieving something.

 

Now my overriding emotion is one of complete and total indifference. Every manager is a weak puppet, squads full of talented individuals but no leaders, square pegs into round holes, players picked on reputation rather than form. I want to see players who put 100% in, grafters who will feel privelege to play for their country rather than being in the squad based on entitlement.

 

I am very, very disappointed in Big Sam.

 

Or as the papers will be calling him tomorrow when we lose 0-1 thanks to a Hart own goal 'Big Sham'.

Having Rooney in there is just embarrassing. After watching us crash out to Iceland I cannot believe that the starting line up is almost identical. We are a laughing stock across the world. 

 

No one can sit there and tell me Vardy and Drinky don't deserve to be in the starting line up. Then there are other players such as Noble who have had fantastic seasons, who have been overlooked yet again. I thought Sam would have big enough balls to give this a proper go. Clearly not.

I did it more attacking seeing as the position in question is attacking midfield behind the strikers. Threw in tackles won and lost for you as well though seeing as you're insisting on comparing the two.

Fair enough. Tackles won is a hugely important for someone playing in midfield. Winning the ball high up the pitch and delivering the ball quickly is vital in today's game and Drinky does that for city so often.

 

Rooney gives a slightly better attacking threat but leaves a huge whole down the middle. As we sore in the last tournament.

Me too! I cannot believe that Fat Sam has chosen Henderson and Kane over Drinkwater and Vardy. Allardyce won't be hugely different in terms of selections to Hodgson despite what the media try to portray him as. Expect similar to before.

Oh in central mid I didn't like him at all. Lost way too many 50 50s because he backed out.

 

I'm not saying that Drinky shouldn't be in the starting line up, as I think he's as good as the others. It just seems that because we watch him more than most others we disregard the fact that the others players are basically on par with him. 

 

Pretty sure Mark Noble  will go down as the only world class englishman player never to play for England.

Thought it was supposed to be the dawning of a new era. We should be building for the next world cup, not picking players who have demonstrated their pure lack of ability in tournaments such as rooney. One effin goal in 3 previous world cup finals and still the fat lump gets picked. Surely someone at the FA must have kinda noticed his innability to actually perform in a tournament situation.

I personally think Rooney is the biggest problem for that England team. Ignoring the fact he's arrogant enough to announce his retirement two years in advance, it seems as though he's shoehorned into the team in one role or another out of necessity when in reality he's been finished as a top level footballer for a while now. His legs have gone, he insists on taking a touch or two before inevitably playing the ball sideways and you get the impression other players on the field play their game seeing Rooney as the conductor which is holding us back massively.

 

As for Henderson being selected over Drinkwater, faaakin hell Sam!

For me, this selection is just reinforcing the message that failure and underperformance are perfectly acceptable for this bunch of England players. For there not to be any repercussions for any of them sends out totally the wrong message for me, it just invites complacency.

 

The fact that not a single one of them has been dropped following the worst result in our history sums up why so many people just don't give a **** about England any more.

Thats exactly what every spurs and arsenal player did last season.  I'd not noticed it before, I'd never been that interested in the prem run in, but that is what set Man U under fergie apart and why Liverpool haven't won anything for years.

 

Still pick the same old same old and we'll breeze through qualification and then choke either in the group stages or the 1st knockout round again.

as such, surely we should be more concerned about our boys getting a rest and not risking injury ahead of the frustration that others are picked ahead of them??

 

im sure the two guys are peed off about it -and they have every right to be - they are pros.
