That's exactly what we're doing with Adrien Silva. He is one of the top paid players in Portugal. He renew is contract six months ago. He said he didn't want to leave the club. Some weeks ago he told the press that he wouldn't leave until he could get to be champion. He is one of the fans favorites. He is our captain. Not letting him leave is not being dicks. Is to preserve the club's rights and to protect the clubs best interest. Just like you did with Mahrez.

 

Don't get me wrong: I think any player is free to wish a better wage and to play in the Premier League is an understandable dream. But the will of the club is always first (ask Mahrez...).

 

Marhez did not come out at all and say he wants to leave like Silva did.  The situation is not anywhere near the same.  It may be fr Fans and we understand the great concern you all have with the captain and best player basically saying goodbye when no one was expecting it. But let's not confuse fans hopes and demands from real life.  He is going clearly and likely to us, that seems to be the fact.  Media reports are full of Bull S$#t. You are hanging on with all you have but I would say it is a done deal as it is for Slimani.  Deep down I am sure you all know it also.

Slight difference though Mahrez has never said that he wanted to go.

 

The more similar comparison would be Kante albeit he had a release clause but even if he hadn't I think we would have still had to sell him just for more money as he wasn't happy staying.

First of all i could not care less if you buy them or not. Just to make something clear. Every time some club is interested in a Sporting Lisbon player, fans of this small Portuguese club invade the foruns and facebook of this clubs to try and sell their players. 

 

I'm Portuguese but not a fan of Sporting Lisbon, Adrien is a good player, but nothing special, you can get a lot better. The club does not have a winning mentality, in something like the last 40 years they won something like 4 championships or something like that. Their president is a moron and will bleed you dry. They went bankrupt just 2 years ago and have to deliver something like 50% of the player sales to the banks that forgave them part of their debt and no interests.

 

The banks will pressure them to accept and the players all want to leave the club (Adrien just yesterday said so publicly) and have miserable wagges, so offer low, wait and you'll get a fine player, nothing special. In Portugal alone there are better alternatives.

Yeah we would have still sold him as he was unhappy but you're right it would have been 50m+

 

Once a player says he wants to go it's hard to keep him. Slimani is arguably more important to CP but they seem resigned to losing him just holding out for as much as possible. 

 

Again though this is the problem with leaving signings so late, that's not a gripe at the powers that be doing the deals for us it seems to be every club. The closer it gets to the window the more the price increases. Not blaming CP either I mean you can see their point.

This my friends, is a perfect example of a brainless benfica fan (probably next he will tell you guys he doesn't support benfica, just to try to make a point).
There's lot's of them like this one, and despite we being here to discuss an eventual transfer between our teams, this guys need to come always after us to say shit about our team and our players. 
I don't know anywhere else where those kind of things happen, imagine that in every possible transfer of your team, fans of your rival would go to the forums of the team that want to buy your player, and start talking the kind of things that brainless people talk. It's sad, but it's true.

He claims we are trying to sell you guys Adrien, well, almost all of us want Adrient to stay, and also coming to Leicester forum wouldn't help the transfer in any possible way, so I have no idea why he thinks we win something for being here.

But aparently he thinks that talking shit about Adrien or any other player would have some kind of negative effect that could arm the deal in any way, that's a bit ridiculous if you ask me, but then again, we're used to this, happens every time.

By the way, Sporting didn't went bankrupt pal, if that happened we'd had to change our name and start in the lower division in Portugal. We agreed with banks a solution that's good for everyone, and arranged a way to pay our debt, because we have intention in doing so. Meanwhile your team keeps buying players for 22M € like they don't owe + than 500M€ to the banks. (And their president is one of the top debtors of BES, with more than 600M when  you put all of his companies together [Benfica not included].)
