Dan Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 If Southgate picks sides on merit he has my backing.

RonnieTodger Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 Cant be arsed now, the list gets worse every time. Glenn Hoddle?! Even Big Sam didn't really have international management credentials, but literally anything seemed better than Hodgson. ****ing hell what a mess Give it to Pardew. We'll be shit, but it'll be a laugh. Thank goodness we've got Leicester.
Jon the Hat Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 Give Eddie Howe a 8 year contract, and keep him no matter what. It worked for wales.

Not 100% sure who you're referring to. Sparky had the legend factor and only took us upwards for the most part, nobody could be worse than Bobby Gould to be fair. If it was a reference to Tosh, he had years on his cv, was a legend as a player and managed Real Madrid before starting here. Yes, the FAW put up with a lot of poor results and performances but he also had a very clear mandate to cultivate an entire generation. We basically put our entire u19s in the seniors and rolled with the punches for the best part of six years. Speedo had a wonky start but was another legend of our game and made rapid progress when he settled and then Cookie picked up the baton. I don't think results were ever THAT below par under Coleman that the FAW were really holding on despite it all to keep him. The closest to what you need and are implying really is Toshack's reign. I'm not entirely sure you need to interrupt the great progress Howe is making at club level to have him play your u21s every week for England. Personally, I think if you want to follow our model then you give the job to someone the players all respect, someone they grew up watching, a recently retired pro with a bit of coaching knowledge and a hard enough nose to not suffer Prima Donnas and to pick an unpopular side. Step forward Gary Neville. That's about the most "Wales-like" appointment you can make.

Agree ..in fact Sky and BBC quoted that his agent advised him, to ignore it and let it go. Oh another thing before we crucify football...if It was found wanting with this new offerering, and proved stories in the past... Where/what do you think is happening across many big businesses, Banks and withinside politics. Balls, Baksheesh, Bungs, wild promises tend to pull in all the bad elements. Big Sam trying to make sense of his his own greedy actions, makes it worse by leaning on Journalists entrappment. It may be snidey, but tell me this what Ffs was this idiot, new crowned English manager, doing by insulting the fans and his management, by not understanding his Contract....Not 3 months into his contract, only 1 game played. Sympathy.???? .hes going abroad......hes ruined his dream and honour of his post. I have sympathy with his family, but he should not hold any high football job again. His cred has Flown away into thin air. It takes one to know one....Well done to the Telegraph undercover journos. You cant entrap anyone who stays true to their own Principals, he let his family down, not just Himself, and with all those years of experience, for a few bob, and trying to prove he could play people and ride the consequences....Jesus what chance do footy youngsters have, when groomed into this shite.
Matt Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 I just want someone with the bollocks to tell the FA to fuck off and let them do their job. I thought Allardyce would be that man, but after the line up in his first game it all but confirmed what I suspected, The FA picks the team. What changed in Allardyce's first game and the Euro's, the Iceland game? Nothing, absolutely fuck all. Until there is a total overhaul within the FA then nothing will change for the national team. I was never keen on Southgate, but i've grew to like him, not really took any interest in the U21's (It's a massive effort to take interest in the senior team) so not sure what kind of job he's done with them, but at the end of the day as i've said above it doesn't matter who is in charge, nothing will change while the powers that be, the big wigs, the suits at the FA are there.

This basically. It's quite simple - we are a very mediocre international side and have been for decades. We don't have a plan, an identity, an ethos. We just stick the 'best' players onto the pitch and hope it comes off. That approach was crystallized perfectly under Woy. I mean, how many times do we have to struggle against so-called lesser teams before we recognise what they're doing that we aren't? And even other 'smaller' teams that have done far better than us at tournament? Iceland, Chile, etc - they have a bloody plan - why is that so hard to understand? In the year that Leicester won the premier league, Wales got to the semis and Iceland got to the quarters, Roy Hodgson came out with this gem before the tournament. That might explain things...
foxy boxing Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 i am absolutely disgusted that fat sam has walked away with 1million payoff after managing just one game, pure madness and shows how unproffesional the f.a. look, the f.a need reform thrust upon them or face being destroyed and rebuilt. we need to know where the money is coming from and most importantly where is it going?

Says who? To be honest, if he has signed as settlement agreement that is pretty normal practice. The FA doesn't want or need this to lead to any sort of legal proceedings by Allardyce, or have him shooting his mouth off about the FA internal working elsewhere. Worth $1M to them I would say. In short this is normal business practice, a long way from madness and certainly not unprofessional.

Well they wouldn't as b) is a Prem rule for a start off not a UEFA rule. I aint getting into the ins and outs of it with you as it's pointless. Just suffice to say he was most definitely not corrupt otherwise they would have had a penalty and would of been allowed to take their corner just before half time.

Jesus Christ given you can't be arsed with it you don't half like to moan about it It is just a sack of shit, on thing after another with that team, I've not been an England game for about 4 years and I have absolute zero inclination to change that. Having had time to reflect I am actually quite disappointed with it all, Big Sam is not a managerial genius and was more than likely going to find the job hard going (mind you who wouldn't) but is someone I had a bit of respect for being a straight talking manager who has done a very respectable job at numerous Prem clubs, probably got the job on merit for his achievements over the years and then goes and does this, its beggars belief really. I wait for the day someone restores some pride to the national set up, I am sure it'll come at some point. Whether we will all be alive to see it is another matter.
