Allardyce left by mutual consent to avoid being sacked? - official

Ranieri didn't exactly rule himself out of the job when asked just now. Was asked if he'd consider it and rather that saying 'no' he swerved the question. CR for England and we end up with Fat Sam. You heard it here first

What an idiot!

A middling career as a manager - this was easily the best he could have hoped for and he's ruined it. I agree it's dodgy journalism but how stupid must he be? As England manager why would you take the risk?

Ranieri to England and we get Pearson back. Make it happen.

BBC quoting reactions of different people... Linker, Shearer, Cordon, Owen... what, wait! Corden? Renowned football expert James Corden (who incidentally was quoted as saying he couldn't see what Sam has done wrong lol What a knob!) Might as well come to Leicester and ask Bernie.

Wouldn't be surprised if everyones at it to be honest. When you buy a player from countries such as Italy, Spain or others who have known links to corruption you have to do what's needed to secure the deal.

The governing body for the whole of world football have been proven to be corrupt and endorsing this kind of behaviour so it's not really a surprise when clubs and managers follow suit.

Alan Sugar made an interesting piece on this in his book about signing one of the Romanians in his Spurs days. As a businessman you are quoted the asking price, meet the price, player agrees terms, signed. The club who were selling the player kept asking for extra plus the agents wanted money on the side, its a dirty business.

The list is on twitter is you search '8 premier league managers'

Pearson is on the list. Not a surprise considering some of the signings and younger players he brought in.

Absolute twat.

Not many people would risk a guaranteed £3 million a year for a spurious  £400k but Fat Sam did.

He may never have been charged for it but he's got previous when it comes to treading a fine line between unethical and down right corrupt. I can't believe his utter stupidity.

Job of his dreams? Can't have meant that much to you, you money-grabbing twat.

All that said, I absolutely detest this form of 'journalism' - disgusting. So the Telegraph sell a few more papers and gain a few more hits while English football picks up the pieces again.

But isn't that actually one of the primary goals of journalism in this day and age? To investigate and uncover corruption like this?

He should be banned from managing at the least, He has always been a shady character looking for ways to fill his pockets of any job he has ever had.

there should have been people advising him from the f.a. but obviously this didn't happen and the f.a. are a shambles and a complete laughing stock and in need of rank and file changes and a complete new broom if things are ever going to change. clearly sam thought it was a money making scheme and the England manager should not be the highest paid manager in world football at least until they have done something tangiable

Good - Lost faith in him in regards to his comments about Rooney picking where and when he plays. Might have been a little early to lose faith but he shown how completely out of his depth he was.

Southgate for the next 4 games doesn't fill me with confidence but hopefully the FA now just wait until someone half decent becomes available - I really hope this whole incident doesn't drive them to go for someone like Hodgson though who is seen as safe.

Completely agree re: Big Sam's Rooney comments, I would have sacked him just for that.

Southgate may surprise everyone, he's been doing a good job with the U21s and the pressure is off really, he will be the first England manager for a while to have actually been an England International, and has had experience with that sort of job at U21 level.

I thought the interesting bit was about the FA only being able to pay the interest on wembley, which would lead you to think about why certain players are picked who just happen to have massive sponserships. Are the FA forcing the england manager to play certain players and taking bungs from their sponsers because they need the money.
