Not in the England squad.

Absolute madness that Vardy's in there and he isn't.

Dunno if anyone has said it yet. Future England captain

Future?

The guy is playing the best football of his career and still can't get into the squad. Unfortunately for him he'll never get a chance for England whilst playing for us.

It's a shame they're playing Malta. They could name a team of Championship players and they'd still win.

I'm past getting angry about England. After what's happened in the last six months I think you've got to just sit back and poke fun at everything rather than get worked up over it. There's no way they'll win anything in any of our lifetimes with ever-lasting flaws that are deeply rooted into the England set up, and with such a hideous lack of effort to reverse that too, so I'm just going to laugh at it all from now on.

Where on earth do you even start with that squad hahahahaha

Short term if he's not in the squad that's great for us because he's played so much recently.

Long-term it's not good. He's the most consistent English midfielder, playing for the champions but still can't get into the squad! Offers will come in for him and he might think he has to go if he wants to break through into the national team.

Hope I am wrong, but could see it happening.

Glen Johnson's got to be about the funniest call up since Theo Walcott in 2006. He was doggo a few years ago for England and he's made the squad off the back of being in a Stoke side that are getting battered every other week? What the ****? lol

England caretaker manager Gareth Southgate has said Leicester City's Danny Drinkwater was left out of his first squad because he was 'lost over the weekend'.

Despite Drinkwater playing the full 90 minutes in today's 0-0 draw with Southampton at the King Power Stadium, Southgate appeared to suggest he had picked up an injury and that was the reason for his exclusion for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.

"We've tried to keep some continuity from last month because my view would be that there are a lot of things that have been going right," Southgate told The FA.com.

"We've had a few people unavailable through injury like Harry Kane and Jack Butland, and we've lost a couple over the weekend in Danny Drinkwater, Adam Lallana and Nathaniel Clyne, while Luke Shaw isn't quite back fit yet. That's had a bearing on the squad."

Glen Johnson is in the squad!

I just laughed when I read that. Glen ****ing Johnson? What the absolute ****? lol

Jesse Lingard has really earned his place by virtue of being employed by Man Utd.

I want to like the national team and support England but you just can't can you?

Perhaps the club requested he isn't picked because he has played too much recently

if Southgate said he wouldn't be likely to play then Danny may have agreed to this - best he stays here and manages his fitness.

On this occasion our player's look like they need it!

Yeah but many won't even get a break will they.

As for Vardy, well i've called for him to play, I've moaned to hell about it, but how he deserves a call up on current form god only knows, you watch he'll start now he's off form, England/FA logic.
