Bluetintedspecs Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Drinky has been outstanding this season, bar Sunday when the whole side looked shattered, Vards hasn't! I'd like to say it surprised me but we're d/w England FA and Yesgate temporarily in charge!
RonnieTodger Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 This "outstanding leader" bollocks is another way of saying that he will not drop Rooney, no matter how shit.
norwichfox Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Establishment squad by an establishment man, it'll never be any different. Don't read about any problem with DD anywhere else, Not sure that JV has done enough this term to keep a place in the squad....hopefully if he gets on the pitch he'll hit the net a couple of times to kick start his season.
st albans fox Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Why are people commenting on DD being omitted from the squad???? he is INJURED be be it a convenient injury or a real one, he is not available for selection. Sometimes, on here is like being in another dimension. Before you know it people will be posting we won the bloody premier league!
kingcarr21 Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Keane in for Johnson. Should be interesting to see how he does. That's his valuation gone through the roof now. Shame we didn't pick him up in the summer
The Railway Man Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 The original squad was hilarious, Glen Johnson Vardy is lucky to get in on the performances this season.

If the club are placing pressure on you to rest and put out a minor injury concern do you go with it, or take the England opportunity. Like many i'm quite happy he's not going but not all that convinced that the club aren't putting pressure on him not to go.
davieG Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Leicester’s Danny Simpson says he “can’t do any more” following latest England snub By Felix Keith Posted on October 4, 2016 Danny Simpson appeared to react badly after failing to win a first England call-up, simply writing “lol” on Twitter following the news of Michael Keane‘s inclusion. The Leicester City right-back could have been in line for a first Three Lions cap after surprise addition Glen Johnson pulled out of Gareth Southgate’s squad through injury. However, the interim boss instead opted to hand a first call-up to Burnley centre-back Keane, apparently prompting a sarcastic response from Simpson, who then swiftly deleted his tweet before it gathered much traction. The 29-year-old’s comment came several hours after another thinly-veiled tweet which stated “I can’t do anymore lol” – presumably referring to the same issue. Following Sam Allardyce’s removal as England manager following an embarrassing sting by The Daily Telegraph, the right-back position has become somewhat of an open position for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia. Nathaniel Clyne’s injury has left Kyle Walker as the only genuine right-back in the current squad, meaning players like Simpson – who has played in every Leicester Premier League game this season – were hopeful of recognition. Johnson, who himself hadn’t been in the England squad since the 2014 World Cup, was a left-field selection, but Southgate’s decision to replace him with a centre-back suggests he doesn’t like the quality of the alternative options. Aside from Simpson, other potential options included Bournemouth's Adam Smith, Crystal Palace's Joel Ward and Swansea City's Kyle Naughton. Simpson made 30 league appearances last season for Claudio Ranieri's Foxes to help them win a remarkable Premier League title. filbertway Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 I'd have probably promoted a right back from the under 21's. I suppose it gives Keane the opportunity to be around the senior team and get used to it all. Simpson is never going to have a future as an England player, he's far too limited. Pretty sure even Craig Dawson is even a better footballing right back than Simpson.
foxy boxing Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 if Simpson was a few years younger he would probably get in the team but as we are meant to be building for the future(which never comes) with England only players mid twenties or younger or players that have played for England regularly, or players that stand out will get a game. we might as well play young Engish players like Rashford and give them some albeit little experience
adam Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Simpson is no where near international class .Strange that he has replaced a full back with a centre half though .

Walcott was included in the 2006 world cup aged 17, having never kicked a ball in the premier league, simply because he signed for Arsenal. Rashford went to the Euro's after just 3 months in and out of the first team at Man U (Although to be fair he was one of the better England players this summer). When is this future getting here? Good quality regular starting players are constantly omitted from the England squad in favour of inexperienced youth team players with a view to building for the future, which as you said, never comes. Age and club should NEVER be a factor in selecting an international side. Most other countries have grasped this concept. I don't understand why England and the English FA can't see it the same way.

I think the England team is so poor at the moment practically every English player is disappointed not to be in the squad.
AKCJ Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 7 minutes ago, adam said: Simpson is no where near international class .Strange that he has replaced a full back with a centre half though . I think Keane deserves the chance but Glen Johnson over Simpson? Walker and Clyne (who is injured) aside we don't really have a right back who plays every week and is good enough but Simpson definitely should be the top of that list.
fuchsntf Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 I look over the talk on Simpson and G.Johnson.No value twiddle twaddle. Simpson is a good FB.He served our club well but it is not his position to believe he automatically deserves a call up. I have seen since the 60s, good top players, unfortunately or fortunately, not get the nod. Keane deserves his chance and his a talented youngman. He now has to prove that potential. We need a new up and coming young CB desperately, I for one hope he can make that break through.Shame the foxes couldnt of hooked him for 18mil or under. I am a weird crazy old man, but this social media shite doesnt half bring out from unturned stones some negative, weening snidey posters throughout the land. Instead of enjoying the life and miseries of defeat and adrenelin pushed victories, that are brought to us on the wisp of a breeze, some prefer the dark clouds of spite to criticise to death the players and people who dont live up to their own dreams.. The Rooney banter I can understand ,its the drivell of built up hate on him and others just ........ well lets just leave it at that, and let others ponder.
Samilktray Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Burnley have more players in the England squad than the current champions of England. What a weird world.

CosbehFox Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 There's favouritism on three counts. Firstly, youngsters are being favoured because there are within the set-up. Players who've been involved with the senior squad are getting preference. Finally the FA picking the big club players and dropping players who move. For example, see the repeated inclusion of Cahill (out of form), Jagielka (35 at the next WC), Keane (he's played 16 Premier League games), Lingard (big club), Rooney (out of form/not playing), Wilshere (non selection despite being fit - but he's now at Bournemouth), Sturridge (out of form), Vardy (out of form) and the Ox (4 PL games out of a possible 7 this season). Charlie Austin has a decent start to season and is ignored in favour of two out of form strikers. Players like Scott Dann, Adam Smith, Joel Ward and Craig Dawson are ignored for a player whose last England performance was in 2014 and then Keane who I've mentioned has nowhere near the top level experience those I have cited. Even Calum Chambers, out on loan at West Ham has more experience. For Jesse Lingard, see Nathan Redmond whose achieved far more than him in a short space of time. In fact probably the most in-form English player I've seen in the Premier League is Sam Clucas from Hull. As along as the FA keep this party line, it just makes a bit of a mockery of it all.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Gotta say it's a bit of a joke that Burnley have more lads in the England squad than us.
shailen Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Think Drinkwater would get into the squad when fully fit. Probably the outstanding midfielder for the past two seasons in the PL for me. Problem with England is that they seem too scared when it comes to tournament football. England need a manager who just lets them go and express themselves. Its got nothing to do with quality since friendlies and qualifiers always work out well but a fear creeps in during tournament football that criples the ability of some of these players.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 October 2016 Posted 4 October 2016 Vardy over Drinkwater this season, is a joke.

It's just bollox. That's the logic that if you keep on doing something that isn't generating the outcome you want, keep on doing it. That's the logic of the idiot
