Vardinio'sCat Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 This has already been posted by Spudulike in a Fuchs thread, but it is such a good read it deserves it's own thread. How lucky were we to get him? Hats off to Nigel Pearson for his efforts to bring him in... http://www.theplayerstribune.com/christian-fuchs-live-from-leicester-fuching-city/
Finnegan Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 On the pitch, all I can remember is 90 minutes of Danny Drinkwater shouting at us, “Talk! Talk! You’re not talking!” Love that.
Countryfox Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 Not seen it before puss. Just watched it. Don't know what to say ... Blubbing again like a good un. Loooooooove it !!!!

WigstonWanderer Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 Always strikes me as very articulate and comfortable in interviews unlike the majority of footballers who usually come across more like this:
one F in Fox Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 That is a great read, thanks to Vardinho's Cat for posting, otherwise I would have missed it. Christian always comes across as a really decent, down to earth guy. I especially love that photo of him with Kasper and Claudio. Certainly brings back all the memories and emotions of last season.

The people that are behind it know how to put this stuff together and how to get to the heartstrings. There have been a few accusations if you Google it. Claudio's was pretty much 10 of his best quotes melded together. I highly doubt any professional athlete would be able to naturally write something in that prose.
Foxxed Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 I love how obviously wonderful he is for team spirit. I pretty much always check his Twitter after a win to see him somehow congratulating a team mate. It's amazing how important those small things are.
AKCJ Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 Loved that. You can tell that Fuchs is a football fan. That if he wasn't a player he'd be in the crowd.
Great Boos Up Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 Thanks puss I'd not read that. In years to come I think I will remember the character of the player rather than the football. I love his explosive passion and sheer enjoyment of what he has achieved here. A basic football soul even to the point of pouring beer over Claudio's prepared big speech. No Fuchs given with the banter on this guy. Love him!

The write up will make him a Leicester favourite to every foxes fan, no matter what age..
Loves2spooge Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 for some reason I always liked fuchs no matter how good or bad he was on the pitch , it nice to take a peek behind the scenes and know what's going on inside a players head good read , and if it did anything for me , it made me like fuchs a little more
StriderHiryu Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 Thanks to both Vardinho and Spud for sharing! This is honestly one of the best sports articles I've ever read. Very sincere and humble but also really captures the magic of that season. Fuchs is definitely a class act and like many I went ballistic after his debut strike on Saturday!
Illusion35 Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 I really enjoyed that. Also think he is more than capable of writing this himself - he is clearly intelligent and discusses his university level education in the article! He is very 'in charge' of his online and social media presence. It will obviously have been proof read and edited etc but I'm sure the ideas and quotes etc are his own.
Durnerz Posted 26 October 2016 Posted 26 October 2016 Could well be at the club for years after he's finished playing. Succeeding the Birch at half time with Egg roulette and rounds of 'Schnick, Schnack, Schnuk' ear flicking of youth teams from the county.

Normally I would agree with your point about ghostwriting, because it is done for just about everything. Just because you are famous, it doesn't mean you would have the skills/stamina to write a book, or even an article, so it's hardly surprising. Most of the newspaper columns 'written' by football people will be done over the phone to a journalist, who will translate the pearls of wisdom into something legible. Having said that, it sounds pretty much as written or said, it's not hard to hear CF's voice (or CR's in his piece), especially in bits like this... I just looked up at him like, Well, I can only laugh about you, sir. That's not looking like it's been proofread/edited to me, never mind ghostwritten!
Bayfox Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 That one article is better than the whole of vardys book. Hope once his career is finished he writes a biography. Sure it would make a good read. In the meantime I look forward to more paper, scissors, stone.
Koke Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 Speaking of Fuchs asking Hazard if he could kiss his feet, this guy who covers Chelsea games tweeted this when we played them back in May.
ozleicester Posted 27 October 2016 Posted 27 October 2016 Something i dont think ive quite realised before, is that virtually all of our League winners seem to be really good, decent people
