Merging Cultures Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 KS is really justifiying his pay check at the moment. Very impressed. Overall, it was a terrible game for us. They looked much sharper and fitter in the first half. While we looked better in the second have we couldn't string a set of passes together the whole game. Do the team even practice together?

I don't see him day in, day out at training etc. Ian Wright didn't break out of non league till he was in his mid twenties or something, I believe? Similar with Vardy etc. I think Ranieri will continue to use Amartey at present as we don't have much choice until Mendy gets back fit (whenever that will be). He is no danny drinkwater but he is also better than some suggest. To say he is 'one of the worst city players you have seen for some time' .......... really ? fwiw, once mendy is fit then I suspect we will see far less of him as a starter IF we retain a two.
Number 6 Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Well that was a lot of money to spend to not see a goal. We clearly came for the draw. also think Copenhagen were fairly content with a point and preserving their home record before Porto arrive (I'd back Copenhagen to win that). If they had a single player who could actually shoot properly they'd be pretty dangerous. Amartey and Schlupp appear to be scapegoats again. Amartey was no better or worse than DD and Schlupp was better than Mahrez. Was good rotation whilst still getting the point. Was also thinking how nice it was to have a pint in my seat (despite it being Carlsberg) until in the second half we didn't get a corner and two appeared to get hurled forwards. We do have some morons in our fan base.
kingcarr21 Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Cant believe people aren't happy with that. Yes it was a bore draw but Copenhagen are no mugs. People calling for Gray aswel. Didn't he leave the stadium in a strop when he wasn't playing against Porto (i think it was Porto). Clearly the kid needs to grow up. Ranieri is clearly taking a stand with him and fair play to him. Schluup was better 2nd half. Mahrez ran his socks off last night but Copenhagen played really well defensively. Did a number on us. Both teams really lacked quality in the final 3rd which was down to how well both sets of defenses played. I would have snapped your hand off for a point. The Bruges home game was always the game to secure the last 16 so last night was a free game. I am delighted with last nights point. Get Slimani back for the Bruges game and lets progress to last 16 in style with a comfortable home win

Yes I think so. I was meaning midfielders essentially. James, King, Drinkwater, Cambiasso, Kante...all superior footballers to Amartey based on what I've seen so far. Even looking at the Pearson Premiership side for instance...was there a worse player in the usual starting 11 than Amartey? Struggling to remember any. Maybe Konch.... though he was a top player when he was younger. But, as always, I'm happy to be proven wrong. I'd love to see the kid start to look like a really good central midfielder. It's not helping him that he's playing in a 442 though. He needs to be in a 3.

Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 I actually think Schlupp was our best player last night but he should be nowhere near this team. Ranieri is making some peculiar decisions this season, it's starting to worry me.

None of those quick raids down the wing granted, but he was one of the better ones for me. all opinions of course, hey, we got 10 bloody points, happy days People are just blinded by their pre conceived ideas. Was in the ground last night and Schlupp put some miles in and was the player most like likely to make something happen going forward. And of course he spent a large portion of the game playing out of position. But it would not be Leicester if we did not have a scapegoat or 2. There were far worse performances in a Leicester shirt last night although don't get the negativity as job done.

Ricey Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 I'm still confused as to how that first half system was ever going to work. Not so much the 3 at the back, but more the selection of pace players everywhere else, instead of players with more technical ability. We knew FCK would be very hard to break down, so why not pick players like Okazaki, Gray or Albrighton who are better at working in tighter spaces. I cursed the inclusion of Schlupp but he actually did ok. He knows his limitations. The same can't be said for Musa. He is Lloyd Dyer but he thinks he is Riyad Mahrez. His decision making is consistently baffling and I'm struggling to think of one positive thing that he did last night. I'd love to have seen us go 4-4-2 and take the game to them from the start, but I think Ranieri was worried about them getting a goal and just sitting on it.
Guest MattP Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Decent result, not a great performance but 10 points from 4 games is superb, we didn't seem to have as much desire to attack as we usually do, worrying thing would be if they could finish we would probably have lost by a couple of goals. Might have already been spoken about so apologise if so but why were our fans so quiet? Twice as many that went to Brugge yet could barely hear them.
RonnieTodger Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 I think we got what we came for last night, but that was painful to watch.
daddylonglegs Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Ranieri leaving shinji out is reminiscent of Pearson not playing Mahrez when we completely shit two years ago.
Tevez Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 The Shin should of started. Great point away from home to virtually put us through. Musa was very poor.
Happy Fox Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 This was always going to be a tricky game for us, so to get a point is job done, Brugge at home we should be winning that, and if we do, can see us winning the group. Now to the Premier League.
Callabinho Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Shout out to sick boy who emptied his guts everywhere, during half time!
foxy boxing Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 WE ARE STILL MAKING HISTORY BOYS the first team in champions league history not to concede a goal in their first four champions league games is amazing. unbeaten with no goals conceded it was a poor game and we didn't play anywhere near are best but a point away from home of course we would take we once again have kasper to thank for a fantastic save and it was disgraceful the way the Danish fans treated him but he got the ultimate revenge. we were not at are best and made too many sloppy mistakes and didn't hold on to the ball long enough. i would like to see a massive improvement in our ball retention and not just counter attack teams. i know everyone and his dog is having a go at schlupp right now and he really does need to up his game and playing Hernandez as a wide player made no sense but we got the job done and can look forward to the knockout stages
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Ranieri spouting off that Shinji is as important to our team as Kante was and then rests him? The man has played two games, he's hardly hanging out his arse. Bizarre

Thats how its always been in Parken, but maximum pressure on the opposite side. Tbh, it dint help that he took his time whit goalkicks from the first minute. It has nothing to do whit the fact that he is Danish, only that he was playing on the opponents side. Kasper is not hated or anything like that.
Callabinho Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 I think we showed them and their record more respect that it deserved. They're actually dog shit, plenty of sideways passing but do little with it. Our poor play tended to create opportunities for them, and only a few times did they genuinely carve out a decent chance themselves. Had we started the side that has done so well in the previous two games I'm confident we would have taken them to the cleaners, their front two are possibly the worst strike force I've seen for years.

I despise seeing him in the team based on recent performances but I thought he was the best attacking threat til he came off. Obviously the lack of real quality remained an issue. I can't quite believe he persisted with Mahrez who I thought had a shocking game
MPH Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 I think it was more of a case of two teams canceling each other out. 4 games in, top of our group and yet to concede in the champions league. I'm happy.
