Please for the love of god can we sign a midfielder with some ability? We could have Barcelona's front line and still be bottom half with Amartey and bloody Andy King in the engine room

Not good enough, was the backbone of the side that won Euro 16 and had Sporting fans almost in tears when they found out we were close to signing him. He's also that poor he managed to score against a sh*te team called Real Madrid. Oh and Sporting have only lost one game in the league when he has started this season!

Sounds shite. Bring back Junior Lewis.

if we can get him in January that would be great certainly better than Amartey and Mendy and with a lot more experience. imagine silva, Mahrez and Slimani all linking up

How can you say he's better than Mendy? They are completely different players with different qualities.

Don't get the what a signing that would be? Raniaris foreign players who he signed have been far from impressive. Could easy be another one of them.

Absolutely spot on . Not ONE of Ranieri's signings have amounted to anywhere good enough at this level . Just look at the dross he brought for millions and couldn't even get in the team  Inler.  Benhelouin , the Spanish Donkey  and Zeiler  to name a few . None of them good enough all of them bleeding the club dry with their wages .

We'd actually be lethal if we had a proper penalty taker.

Islam Slimani isn't a bad penalty taker?

The pen he took against Boro was a good one. Second choice pen taker for Algeria apparently, ahead of Mahrez.

However looked on youtube and the few pens of his that I could find weren't amazing, with a miss and some tame efforts.

If they go in they go in. Same goes for Mahrez. People loved it when he was doing his stopping in the middle of a run up against Sunderland, Everton( 2 won us the game there to have us top for Christmas last season) misses versus Bournemouth and Everton and all of a sudden he's a shit penalty taker and should be shot. I love Leicester fans..

Nobody is saying that though, are they? lol Not even close.

Watch Mahrez's penalties and then watch Adrien's. A goal is a goal, but Adrien's penalties are guaranteed goals. Mahrez's record is pretty poor from the spot. There are no excuses for missing.

Like i've said, he's got better and it was clever of him to put it to the left of Valdes because he'd clearly been watching videos of Mahrez (noticed he stood still because Mahrez has put his last 3/4 own the middle).

Against Sunderland and Everton they were right in the corner(un save able) now he puts it down the middle ish.

Because of the context of the game Slimani didnt get the credit he deserved for having the balls and composure to take such a calm penalty when we needed it.

When Leo did the same thing against West Ham he was heaped with praise for it, the situations really are the same. Pressure is pressure.

My point is that because we find ourselves in a bad situation even if a player is playing well they wont be seen in such a positive light because of the doom and gloom about our position in the table.  Slimani has been great, if people cant see that then thats their problem.

How can a penalty be amazing?

Okazaki's overhead kick would have been amazing had it gone in but a penalty no sorry.

I wonder if he'd actually be that keen to join us now though? He can't play in the CL and we're in a relegation battle so it's not quite as rosey as before. I suppose it depends what other offers he might have in January, it's a horrible market to operate in. I just hope we've a plan and we act ruthlessly and efficiently. We will likely pay way over the odds if we leave it too late.

Rght now the Premier League is literally awash with money. One of the Sporting fans came on here over the summer and said that Silva was the best paid player in the Portuguese league at £40K a week. He'll comfortably double that here I imagine which is why even teams like Burnley can go out and sign the best players from other leagues.

Your point about actually wanting to join us based on football merit is totally valid of course but I imagine that Slimani being here is a help and he did come out with that press article earlier in the year where he said the Leicester "project" was very interesting to him. That implies a multi-season strategy and though we have floundered in the league surely we still have captured people's hearts!

Leicester are a historic club now.. we also do have an upper hand because of our amazing accomplishment last year.
