LCFC FOX Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 As stated above who would realistically join us who's a better option?
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 I don't like the comparisons to NP and Claudio... But.... In a interview after the match under Pearson when we had lost or in bad form, I always felt like we and he would turn it around. Felt like he could rattle some cages and not put up with shite defending or basic errors. Remember a classic line of when Stringer was told about how we need to change the results, and Stringer said what if the results don't change? 'Then I'll change the players ' This attitude is something we miss right now. Just feels like each game right now is just a continuation of the previous.... and I'm losing a bit of belief that Claudio can sort this.

Some of them need a rocket up their arses not being told they're playing well and are just unlucky. We are the worst side in this league right now
Footballwipe Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 It's obviously a topic that will split people in two. Those who want him to remain forever, those who are ambitious and want us not to completely ruin the fantastic opportunity we had to push on. Whatever your opinion, whatever the standpoint, we know that the owners are not going to risk this team ending up in the Championship. After six months of commercialising, capitalising on the triumph and earning around £130m from PL and UCL deals, they will not sit there at the end of the season thinking "oh well we're down but CR is still our man." No, whether he is "sacked" or he's encouraged to resign, if the owners feel sufficiently panicked he will be gone.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 We over achieved last season, that's something noone can deny, this season we are under achieving. Simple as that, we string 3 results together and suddenly all the glory boys will be back on the band wagon you see
Guest bennytwohats Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 As a slight aside, what do you all want/expect from this season? we aren't going to win the title. This season was always all about the Champions League - whatever you think of our group it's a phenomenal achievement what we have done in there. does anyone really care if we finish 8th or we finish 15th? As long as we don't get relegated I really don't - the reason last year gets brought up is because you shouldn't as well. If a league title can't earn enough grace for you to not be bothered by a few league places then it shows what kind of fans we have become! we are still well on course for survival, and if that is looking precarious in Feb then we still have plenty of time to turn it around. to have this conversation now is a farce, and it bothers me how much some of you are baying for blood - but let's face it loads of you were right at the start, and I bet have been waiting patiently for this excuse to tell us how much better we would be with good old, English, Nigel Pearson - f@@k off

If anyone should be "sacked" start with some of the players. It is obvious to me that they are burdened by the extra weight in their back pockets with new contracts and additional cash!! It is extremely hard to criticize Ranieri after last season's remarkable achievement and folk would do better to get behind the Club and argue constructively but to suggest the manager should be sacked is absolute piffle!! Why is this a disgusting topic? We are discussing whether or not to stick with Ranieri or sack him perfectly valid because at the moment we are in free fall. Give him till Christmas I say.

Here here! I'm also sure there'd be dozens of far better world class managers tripping over themselves to get here to save us! Oh wait a minute, I can't think of one available decent manager better than the one we've got at the moment. There's always big bent Sam Alladyce I suppose, give me a break. We're hardly on death row. We're in the knock out stages of the Champions league and how many games before new year? Before you can blink we'll have a choice of Drinkwater , Mendy and James to chose from in midfield. Players like Marhez and Vardy need to have a good look at their superstar overpaid selves first, neither of them are putting in the work, Shearers comment's on motd last night were bang on, the work rate isn't there. I think Ranieri s loyalty to some of them is coming to an end sharply. I'd drop Marhez full stop. Vardy too and replace him with Slimani in his favoured striker role with Albrighton on the right (his most effective position ) and Gray on the left. Ranieri has a long proven career as a good manager whereas some of our players are clearly transient one season wonder fly by nights. They should hang their heads in shame, Vardy and Marhez currently wouldn't need to take a shower after a game.
Itsthejoeker Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 What will sacking Ranieri achieve? that should be the question. We'll bring in a "relegation battle specialist", and settle for relegation battles every year.

We're creating next to no chances, we're losing the midfield battle every week and our defence is a shambles. You can't blame people for being concerned

We look like a poor Championship side at the minute. I honestly think that Claudio rode on the back of the good work put in by the previous regime. When we escaped relegation in 14/15, our lack of quality was apparent in parts of the season, but our work rate never, ever waived which gave me hope. This season however, the fight seems to have gone, the pressing is none existent, the quality is terrible and i can't see where the next win is coming from.

But give him a transfer window at least! we aren't in the bottom 3 yet and haven't been so far this season. So while I appreciate the worry, saying that relegation looks unavoidable seems like an overreaction to me. i think people are being myopic as well. If we had been knocked out in the CL Group but we were up to 8th in the league I think people would be fuming that we didn't give more in the 'once in a lifetime' CL campaign - I wish that people could apply a bit of balance the other way around.
Fox92 Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 He shouldn't be sacked yet but he is showing very little to turn this around and that is worrying. The players don't even look bothered. Nobody is safe from getting sacked. Ask Mourinho - the man who delivered a first league title in 50 years. Poor start in 2006 and he was gone.

A few decent points to be fair but we simply can't get relegated and on current form it doesn't bode well plus his transfers in so far have been very questionable. ranieri has spent a fortune!

foxinsocks Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 This isnt the moment to twist... we have to stay focussed on making the improvents to garner pl points. Harder work... more pressing to make their passes stray. We will have to get two cm s in january. Okizaki must start to effectively make 5 in mid field. Mahrez is in too much traffic.... eitger he crosses in early or ge should be subbed for grey. Musa is better than albrighton going fwd and travking back. So there are things we can do....
Buzzell Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 Can see the owners losing patience with him if things don't get turned around. Relegation is not an option for them.

Yeah I'm happy to stick with him if he realises he needs to change it up. I probably didn't explain it properly, I don't mean I think we're already doomed. My point was I don't see where the next result is coming from playing the way we are. Usually a team in a poor run of form puts in a decent performance or two but we look devoid of any ideas. Being in the champions league is amazing and beyond my wildest dreams in all honesty but I'm a firm believer in prioritisng the league. We all know how long it can take to come back if you drop out of the prem
Suggy fox Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 For me he should be allowed to leave when he wants to. We are never going to win it again and he gave us the best season any non superpower team could ever dream about. I'm going to Porto this week to see my team in the champions league, Leicester in the champions league, I was at Hartlepool in the JPT or something a few years ago. how people want him out after not even half a season is beyond me. Got some good players in and they need time to gel and my only criticism of Claudio is he needs to play them ( gray. Musa kapustka) for five games running and give them a chance. Being a bit too loyal to a the stars of last season (Huth, vardy) the league has got tougher this year with everyone apart from the top five beating each other. We are seven points off 6th place, if we are seven points off 6th by the end of the season then we will probably look back and think what a good season we have had. Having said that I was there yesterday and I understand everyone's concern, dodgy last minute win against man city next week and watch us kick on. Up the city

Good points. There's been no evidence of CR acknowledging that changes need to be made so far. Hope he realises sooner rather than later
weller54 Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 Looks to me like the players (especially Vardy and Mahrez) are taking advantage of Ranieri's good nature and loyalty to them.. shame we can't sack a few of them!.. but they just look happy to live on last seasons events, take their 100k a week and show Claudio and the fans two fingers week after week! Reality is the buck stops with the Manager and he's currently showing he cannot manage!.. Think the next 4 league games will decide his future, if we're in the bottom 3 after the Everton game on Boxing day.... he's gone!

Hope he realises sooner rather than later That is a worry. I think that is my main worry. But I think he isn't the kind of manager to give the players a public dressing down though. I guess it is fair that the fans want a bit of reassurance it is being acknowledged. i think a lot of our problems come from the midfield, and to be fair we don't exactly have options there. That's why I'm hoping January will bring change. That said i accept its a failing from summer to be so short there. And it's blindingly obvious that in the absence of better midfielders we might be better to occasionally line up with 3 in the middle. It certainly isn't positives all round from me at the moment. But we aren't into sacking territory yet, not even close! Patience
Monsell1976 Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 I understand the frustration, as we are all feeling it, but for now I would hold off, give him time. Yes we are shite at present, dare I even say as bad as we were under Pearson, when we had that bad patch, and he refused to change. I would personally give him to the end of Jan, and if there is no signs of life, I would get rid. I would because I like Claudio, and don't want him to take us down, after what he's achieved last season, I'd like to remember him for the right reasons, not the wrong. If we aren't well over 20 points by the end of Jan, he has to go.
Oxfordlcfc Posted 4 December 2016 Posted 4 December 2016 My point of view is last season wasn't supposed to happen in our wildest dreams. This season I knew it wasn't going to be the same so I take the view that we forget last season as it never happened we finished 14 the first season and will be happy to progress a couple of places each season so if we finish 12 I will be happy
