Voll Blau Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Fire away... (Question should read 1888-89, obviously)
Babylon Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Can we have a third option of not really caring either way?
Bilsthorpe Blue Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 To me the best version as sang towards the end at Everton on Saturday was "Champions of England, we'll sing it till May"
lestajigs Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Least it's got a thread of its own now, not hijacking others
Guest MattP Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Surely the chant needs to be (to those teams who won it pre 93 like Derby, Forest etc) "Premier League Champions, You'll never sing that" It's just daft going to places like Derby and singing the original when they've won it more times than we have.
kingcarr21 Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Just now, MattP said: Surely the chant needs to be (to those teams who won it pre 93 like Derby, Forest etc) "Premier League Champions, You'll never sing that" It's just daft going to places like Derby and singing the original when they've won it more times than we have. Thank you. 'Premier League Champions, You'll never sing that' = Problem solved
VLC86 Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Sing it to everyone, Derby, United and **** it Sevilla as well.
foxes21 Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 just sing we are the champions, or championey ole ole ole ??
AlphaMaleFox Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 The song police guys here are deluded if they think 200-votes-strong FoxesTalk poll can stop other few thousands of fellow supporters from singing it. Some people just don't spend their lives on social media and don't care what other fans think about them.

What is this strange 'pre 93' you talk of?!
mackiepas Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 so we should stop singing (and so should every other club) 'we're by far the greatest team the world has every seen' too?

There has been times were we sang champions of England you'll never sing that to teams who have won the title many more times than us, admittedly not in recent years, but you have to cringe when they sing the amount times they have won it back sing back. I could understand us boasting and making songs up like Man U 25 song, I think that's what it's is now, but be proud, be humble, and hope for more.
Vacamion Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 We know what we are..... This thread is unfortunately about what other people and clubs are.
katieakita Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Well we did actually win the title on grass something that anybody who remembers the Baseball ground knows Derby cannot say.

I'm not sure that was the point of Voll's poll. We're gauging opinion.
Bert Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Can we have the option of "why are grown men bothered about what other people that we don't know or care about think of us?
LCFC FOX Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Since when was "why do grown men care about what others think about us?" The question? its about making our selfs look stupid in the chant that's stated. Its like a group of people living in Blackpool going to Paris and singing "a tower in your city, you'll never have that"
notnow john Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 There are people who are worryingly concerned over what other fans think of us !!! So they don't lose too much sleep , the chant is accurate ,if it was" you've never sung that" (past tense) it would be incorrect but "you will (you'll ) never sing that is a prediction!

fuchsntf Posted 10 January 2017 Posted 10 January 2017 Now children, settle down...Its not your ball, nor your title to keep... Now behave yourselves...Be happy you can play with your friends and sing silly songs together. I know its an hard time that we have to leave our inner boy behind.... But do it....!!! You can still swear..that makes up for many things...

The difference is that's an over the top chant about us. Not trying to dig at another team when it's incorrect. Otherwise we may as well sing Weve got Payet and we are Leeds then.
