I'm not buying into this theory that he's an excellent club manager and will do job for us. Sven was also ex England manager and a vastly more successful club manager than Hodgson (17 trophies inc Italian league with Lazio). And look what a disaster he was for us.

 

It's rare for a manager of a national side to revert successfully back to club management (Hiddink and yes Claudio honourable exceptions). Theyre normally at the twilight of their careers and there is no turning back the clock - theyre often going past their sell by date.

 

This is definitely the case with Hodgson. He was decent in his prime but his performance in the Euros was incompetent, and symptomatic of someone on the wane tactically. 

 

And can you really see the players respecting him?! 

 

Hodgson is a big NO from me.
