Freeman's Wharfer Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Anyone but Man City! How many of us ever though we'd have the chance to see Leicester play a competitive fixture at the Nou Camp or the Bernabeu? Exactly. One of those two please.

Still counts in the next round, but resets for the semis. Obviously red card bans still apply. And don't feel daft. I'm sure they change the bloody rules every other year anyway
Lcfcrory Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 would be happy with Man City/Monaco, Atletico or juventus think we'd give all of those a good game, we've beat Man City convincingly the last two times we've played them, Monaco are a good side but don't have any so called world beaters in there and think we could take them, we'd match up well with atletico both play similar style of football and would make for a hell of an entertaining game, and I've never really got the whole love in for juve, they have a quality defence but they aren't that strong other than that it might be just me but I've never rated higuain and think he'd struggle to get any chances against the faster paced English style of play. Worst tie would be Bayern i think just couldn't see anything but a mauling and Barca and Real offer a better day out anyway and have been known to slip up this season
Floridafox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 How is it decided which team plays home leg first?
STUHILL Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 I actually think we could beat Man City again, even over 2 legs. Would be a dull way to go out though if we lost. Don't really want Juve or Athletico. I think Bayern and Barcelona are two teams who could rip us apart no matter how well we play. Real Madrid all day long for me. Huge, dream glamour tie for us and the players and for some reason, I think we could cause them problems.
Bossman Blessed It Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Well, shit gets serious now! We're a strange old team to come up against though - every single team in the draw will dominate possession, which always leaves us in with a shout, especially if we defend like warriors, in the manner in which we did today. As Ferdinand said on BT Sport, no team will enjoy the aggressive press that we offer - combine that with a few of our players showing true grit and a genuine nasty side that you only get from having to go through the gutter in order to make it to this level of football...
Finnegan Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Monaco or Leverkusen, to beat the teams that knocked out the other English sides and because we could win. Given that neither are favourites to go through, Dortmund, Juve or Man City give us the best chance of a semi final which would be immense.
HybridFox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Seriously would take on anyone! Amazing that we've come this far and who's to say we can't turn one of the big boys too. My hunch is on Bayern though. Given we've just played a Spanish team, it be another country to tour. And the meltdown from Arsenal fans would be priceless if we beat them
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 QF Atl. Madrid SF Barca F Real Madrid Then we'll get the La Liga Trophy, too.
Guest Col city fan Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 The team I don't want most of all is Bayern. I just couldn't see how we'd beat them over two legs.

I said before the Sevilla fixtures, there isn't a team in Europe who will want to play us, on form, at a rocking KP on Champs League night. I stick with it. No one would want to be put through what we put Sevilla through last night.

HighPeakFox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 The 2 legs are played April 11th or 12th, and 18th or 19th. From an entirely selfish point of view, this couldn't be better timed... I don't care who we pull, but it'd be a shame to pull City, since we play them twice a season anyway...
Aus Fox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Bayern v Barca Real v juventus Man City/Mon v Leverkusen Lecester V Ath Mad Winner of Man/Mon/Lev on the semis and we a little chance. The top 4 side Real, Barca, Juve and Bayern the only chance we have is in a one off game. Just can't see how we could do them over two legs. The rest and we press we can get a result. We could win this....

So then a busy schedule, after getting back form the international break... Match 18th (this Sat) - West Ham (Away) International break April 1st (Saturday) - Stoke (Home) April 4th (Tuesday) - Sunderland (Home) April 9th (Sunday) - Everton (Away) April 11th/12th - first leg April 15th (Saturday) Crystal Palace (Away) April 18th/18th - second leg And then a break that weekend after - with the Spurs game postponed Everton is scheduled for the Sunday, any chance that could be moved to the Saturday or that we'll be guaranteed to play on the 1st leg on the Wednesday? Manchester City play on the Saturday before, so depending on the teams we draw (assuming they go through) and their schedules, then it should be them on Tuesday, us on Wednesday? Do they still try to separate the days that teams from the same country play? I think the two home games and break did us a big favour for the game yesterday. This looks a bit more tricky though. Almost wouldn't mind Man City because that reduces the traveling a bit.
Fox92 Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 I'd love to go Real Madrid/Barca/Bayern away - that would really top off following the club away from home all these years.

Whereas with Barca and Real it's obvious? ? The benefit of Bayern is that Munich is a fabulous place to visit. But, I share your desire to avoid them. Quite fancy Juve.
ZeGuy Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Anything but Bayern or Barca. They'll absolutely kill us no matter what. A chance of going through or at least putting a good fight with any of the other teams.
Vlad the Fox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Don't want man city, 3 days in Manchester doesn't excite me.
mozartfox Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 Apologies if I missed something, is it fact that we have now pocketed nearly 32M Euros thus far in prize money for this adventure?
Alf Bentley Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 2 minutes ago, Vlad the Fox said: Don't want man city, 3 days in Manchester doesn't excite me. A visit to the People's History Museum, a tour of the Coronation Street set, 10 pints of Holt's Bitter and a chip barm in the rain before getting mugged by a scally in a hoody....what's not to like?
Guest bennytwohats Posted 15 March 2017 Posted 15 March 2017 This thread is utterly surreal. Just enjoying the ride so would rather bag a glamour tie than hope for something 'winnable'. Any team on paper is well equipped to destroy us, but I wouldn't go into any game without any hope after how we played last night. Right back at the start of last season when we were unexpectedly playing well (think October), my housemate from Barcelona jokes that we would be playing them this year in the Champions League. At the time it was so obviously never going to happen. I'd love to see it come to fruition.
