I have a feeling Mahrez stays other than a Chelsea offer .I think his family and home situation is good here money is great plays every week for club and country.

Just  a feeling

Media and other fans don't realise he gets away with murder here! May be a star performer on his day but also one of the most laziest and laid back footballers you could meet. Don't know how many of the big clubs would accept his approach in a group full of "consummate professionals".

We've learnt to live with it though! Hope he stays

I have this feeling Mahrez actually likes living in Leicester and is settled with his family and stuff.

I don't think it'll be too much of a lengthy period before he actually does leave, unless by some unbelivable miracle we win the CL we are going to be in a much more vulnerable position this summer, we wont be Champions anymore and can't offer our players CL football, big money offers come in this year with big salaries offering genuine chances of winning trophies and European football (especially now they've had a run to the quarters of the CL I bet they are loving life)  I think any of their heads could be turned. Whilst whatever was going on under Claudio was going on youd have to struggle to see why anyone would want any of them but if we continue how we are at the moment it could be a difficult summer.......but that's football we can only really keep those inclined to stay

Specifically on Mahrez...I'd not exactly be distraught to see him leave, he's probably improved the least since Shakey picked up the reigns and we have a promising young lad who perhaps isn't quite as close to the finished article as some on here think but can only get better if he plays more games.

I've accepted Riyad is probably gone.

Don't see Ndidi leaving after 6 months, Vardy's stock has dropped and Kasper is under contract and is extremely professional. I also don't think he's good enough to start for a United or Chelsea.

Only person we sold last year was Ngolo and he had a clause. Our owners aren't interested in selling.

Remember Vichai literally having Mahrez by the ears? lol

Surely Ndidi hasn't got a release clause lol

I actually wouldn't be too bothered if Mahrez leaves, I've loved watching him play for us but he hasn't played like he's wanted to be here this season and he's a shadow of his former self. Gray can step up to the plate.

No one will want to spend the amount they'd have to on Vardy after this season and him now being 30.

I don't think any player we would be interested in signing would sign for us without a release cause and I'm guessing that the fee would be in proportion to wages.

I reckon either Mahrez or Gray will leave in the summer and the club would rather it was Ryad than Demi. He's on more money, we'd get a better fee and Gray is a bit younger.

Not particulary arsed what Mahrez does either way to be honest and felt the same last season. We arn't replacing Vardy, Drinky, N'Didi and Schmeichel adequately like we have Gray for Mahrez so concentrate on keeping them. If Riyad wants to stay I'd be happy, though.

The implication of this comment is that you think if a player or his agent demanded a release clause as a condition of their contract we should just walk away. Right?

Selling and rebuilding isn't the worst thing in any case. Solid recruitment is all that's needed. Before Kante left, I honestly don't think we've had many players in the past 10 years that people really felt we should have kept. I imagine Mahrez's contract has a pretty hefty buy-out clause and as many posters have already mentioned, we appear to have lost his interest - it's understandable, he won PFA player of the year and he's put in some great performances in the CL. I would like us to sign a quality winger/playmaker should he go though, I do think his talent is taken for granted a little.

This season was also a learning process for all of us, meaning the fans...

I might be wrong, but I reckon majority of the fans have their wishes, but wont commit hari-kari

if we do lose some players..But would also be as happy if they stay.

Personally, I would like to keep Vardy, Schmeichel, Albrighton , Mahrez and Ndidi....

While its up there and my fans duty, obligation and desire is to dream....

It would really throw the cat among the pigeons, if we did win the CL...

With  an EOS run..

If We draw Barcelona/Bayern/Juve, the pundits will do the great immiitation of the hysterical mashed potatoe aliens.

when mentioning Leicester....but they did last season, didnt they.?!!

I think you're being harsh here, Riyad's tracking back and defensive work has been excellent lately. He's been marked out of the game because he has no support unlike the left wing where Vardy, Albrighton & Fuchs form nice triangles. Riyad has to do all the work himself. That said I won't begrudge him if he moves to bigger and better things. I also have a massive amount of confidence in Gray which makes it easier.

If Liverpool had Schmeichel this season they'd be at least 8-10 points better off, even though Hart has been mentioned he always looks like an accident waiting to happen, they'd be crazy not to try to get Kasper, the club and player can always say no and I hope they do.

I just hope Mahrez didn't have a gentlemen's agreement with the owners to stay for the Champions League season but be allowed to go after that if a suitably desirable club come in for him.

The dangers to us of nights like Tuesday are that they've shown to all watching clubs they can hold their own at that level and secondly they've convinced / proved to themselves (and their agents) that they're of that level and thirdly they've further increased their appetite for being part of it (European football). If only we could be in West Broms league position with a final push possibly getting us Europa League. Scrapping for seventh with the likes of Everton or Southampton is where I realistically see us, why we're not there....see the umpteen threads about this season (tactics / pressing / Claudio / not having Ndidi until January)!

You heard it here first, ITK.

:scarf::rolleyes:

Was it the lack of proper Crusty Cobs and the problems finding chippy's down south that do baked beans that have swung it? Or does his mrs pine for the Haymarket?

Kante left after 8.

Because he had a release clause in his contract and we had no say.

He was also entering his prime and is clearly world class, Ndidi is a solid prospect but he's got a way to go.

Your source is a bit late.

Kante came back on Tuesday.

only move that makes sense for Kasper would be someone like Everton who are striving to break top 4 in the near future. I think he'll stay a little longer anyway, I've been accepting that Riyad will likely leave, Ndidi is way too soon, lad is only 19 too so he's in no rush to make a big move. Could see Vardy retiring here, don't see anyone that far above us interested again like in the summer. Ones I'm more worried about is our prospects who probably think they should be getting more games i.e Gray, Chilwell.

Except when we turn it around and the season ends well and then no one leaves, because we finished 12th in the league

I'm not critizing his style of play. On the pitch he's a magician at times. It's his lifestyle choices - turning up late to training all the time, junk food etc.

Not that there's anything majorly wrong with that but we are quite lenient. Some of the big clubs wouldn't be

They are all on fairly high wages. I think Vardy and Mahrez are seen by other teams as one-season wonders, and I doubt many will meet the club's evaluation. Albrighton is also on fairly high wages, and with the downfall of Ranieri (and his Musa fixation) is more appreciated by Shakespeare.

I fear for Schmeichel, but he does like the owners, who would probably give him a bump to keep him.

As for N'didi's release clause: If it's there, it's probably higher than Kante's.

Last summer's transfer fees were insane, and I am sure all new contracts are reflecting that in their transfer clauses.

Unfortunately, like much of what passes for sports journalism these days - that *was* my source lol

Yeah, I think people underestimate just how good Riyad is. Gray is far from Riyad levels at the moment. Mahrez'S left foot is one of the best in the world.

I would not care less if Mahrez left for a decent fee.

I think people underestimate how BAD he has been this season.
