LCCFox96 Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Santi Cazorla on a free transfer is an interesting one. No doubt he has his injury problems and is in the twilight of his career but he's a stunning footballer and would provide some great link up play between our forwards and midfield.
goose2010 Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 Tom Cairney for me from Fulham one of the best players in the championship and could definitely set up to the prem.

I think he is better and although I can't stand Jose these days, I think he probably has a point on Shaw. He always looks out of shape and not sure Spurs would be keen to replace Rose with that. I do think Shaw will be on his way in the summer though, but you can see what Jose is doing and trying to give him a kick up the arse!

Man City need the defenders so makes sense and with Spurs and their strict wage structure, I can see Rose wanting to double his pay and leave. Wonder how much Shaw is on at Man U. Mourinho has a habit of stock piling players though at the cost of the club, so Shaw could potentially go out on loan or be frozen out for a year Schweinsteiger esq.

Don't think he would have the energy to play as a number 10/ACM in our current 4-4-1-1 system but he is an amazing talent, even at his age. If there was a way of incorporating a player with his ability, then it could offer a new dimension to our play. At the moment, we rely on flair from Mahrez and Gray, both out wide and it would be great to have some of that in the centre too, but I think ultimately we will be looking for an ACM or no.10 that also can match the workrate we are known for, so that would perhaps rule out a player like Carzola at his age and with his style.
TheHitman™ Posted 3 April 2017 Posted 3 April 2017 This one might be out of left field but Sardar Azmoun from FK Rostov. 22 year old Iran International with 16 goals in 24 games for his national team. Scored against Bayern in the Champions League, and a very good technical player that can play as a striker, second striker, #10 or on the wings. He would also be cheaper than a lot of options out there. He would be a good long term replacement for Okazaki.

I'd prefer Gray if we keep Slimani but get Deeney in if we are going to lose bother Simani and Ulloa as we will need a physical striker who can hold the ball up and give us a different option to Vardy. Andre Gray seems like a much more like for like for Vardy than Musa has been, and if we continue to play this way, then we really do need a Vardy type striker.

Think that's probably a fair assessment. Anybody coming into the No.10 role would have to match Okazaki's work rate as Vardy and Mahrez play noticeabley alongside Shinji because his leg work frees up more space for them. That may be beyond Cazorla and he also doesn't have to do it at Arsenal because of their more possession based style and extra quality going forward.

Don't know for how much longer Fuchs will stay at LCFC. He's always made it quite clear he wants to move to the US sooner than later because of his family in New York. We do definitely need another left-back (and right-back also) in the near future.

Grewks Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Seen some rumours about Shaqiri leaving Stoke for around £12 million. Surely worth a gamble if we can mould him? Great option out wide and as a 'more technical' number 10.
TJB-fox Posted 4 April 2017 Posted 4 April 2017 Would be mad to go for another left back to replace Fuchs when he eventually retires. We have a quality ,modern, ready made replacement in Chilwell who very much deserves a shot now let alone in a few years when Fuchs has gone. Has brilliant potential and would hate to see him replaced by someone like Shaw

Great option out wide and as a 'more technical' number 10. Rather injury-prone in recent years (usually thigh problems - look at their size!) and I don't particularly like his attitude. Only there for the big games, otherwise can be sulky and/or greedy. Avoid if possible - just look at the amount of clubs he's gone through in the space of three, four years.
