Premier League, 2017-2018 Season Thread

Recommended Posts

Quoted from their statement.

" The Club is convinced the appointment of Silva was the right one and had it not been for the unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival for his services we would have continued to prosper under his leadership. "

I don't really see how the club could have such a downturn just because Everton tried to get Silva, unless he said something which peed off the players backstage. Probably should have accepted the money Everton where going to give in compensation.

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry with all these short-sighted managerial appointments and sackings this season in particular.

Granted, Watford under Silva were on a poor run of results as of late, but they're still in the Top Ten and this season sees a lot of mid-table teams getting hammered due to the attacking prowess of Manchester City, Spurs, United, Liverpool and Arsenal...

What’s Superhorns thinking of this, I think I’d be gutted personally.

Well he didn't really want to be here and had a few pops at the board - mind you the Pozzos probably look a bit silly not taking the money when Everton came now.

Suspect there is more to this than a few iffy results.

Wow.

Has it all gone wrong since the Everton rumour?

Quote on the Watford site pretty well alludes to this:

" The Club is convinced the appointment of Silva was the right one and had it not been for the unwarranted approach by a Premier League rival for his services we would have continued to prosper under his leadership. "

Think the trouble is the players lost faith in him and so did the board.

Mind you thought they might stick with him till the summer..

When was the last time you had a manager that was there for more than one season? Zola?

Not knocking it, it seems to be working !

Reading Watford fans reaction on social media many think Silva is arrogant and so far up his own arse. Many are happy to see the back of him.

1 win in 11

4 points off relegation

Another team in free fall just like us last season, yet you have stupid away fans shocked by the decision and failing to see the bigger picture as usual.

No doubt they'll go with a random appointment now though.

Annoying all the same - Everton acting like they own the league as usual by publicly leaking their interest . Same with Walsh. Well that worked out well and now they've got fat Sams blend of champagne football to console them - deluded

Yes - the last manager who we were sad to lose was Jokanovic now at Fulham who got us up.

Really what we need is a decent medical team and about 6 new players!

Certainly off the field the Pozzos have bern excellent for us with a new stand and improved facilities but yes it does seem like chaos on it!

Quite how we aren't in the bottom 3-5 is a miracle!!

Another manager we’ve got sacked although the writing was on the wall it seems. Strange by Watford to bring up the Everton approach as a reason. Have no idea who they could bring in?

Rowett? Pearson?

Heard the Granada boss might be being lined up for it
