Thing about spurs is, they have a great, hard working squad but it's a blessing and a curse at the same time. they don't have that special player. they have dele, the poor man's thomas muller but he isn't a game winner nor can he preduce that moment of magic and that's what's stopping them from winning anything.

They need to look back at our title winning side. We had players with amazing work rate and discipline but many times the side carried riyad for 89 minutes and he rewarded that trust by preducing the goods for that 1 minute.

I'd never thought I'd see the day when the best Danish player over the past decade, in his prime, would not be deemed an instant inclusion in a Leicester side :P

We've come a long way as a club!

Oh **** he's one of my favourite players as well, had a mare there!! lollol

Wow thats a high opinion of our players

If i was picking a team from both squads i would probably go

Lloris

Trippier

Vertonghen

Sanchez

Rose

Dembele

Ndidi

Mahrez

Erikson

Son

Kane

Their players are streets ahead of us

I was on a bit of a rant to be honest lol

It was more that I wouldn't have Trippier here over someone else, not I wouldn't have him over Simpson (I worded it terribly!)

Also forgot about Erikson which is shocking of me lol

But I genuinely wouldn't have Sanchez over Maguire, and i'd put Davies ahead of Danny Rose for sure!

If it makes it any better, I totally forgot about big Harry and went into default Huth/Morgan thinking haha.

I can't really pick between Rose and Davies, but Rose always seems to be making pacey overlapping runs right till the end of games I see. Always loved him on FM from waaay back in the day as well haha,

Care to go onto more detail? I could do with a good laugh.

The most typical Spurs fan, he called up and said he wants to speak about the poor analysis during sports bar yesterday evening. Don't know the presenters names, but I think one is Jason Cundy? Anyway, he presented the show last night and was on the radio this afternoon.

The guy, was really agitated, saying how poor their journalism was by playing a laughing track in the background whilst dissecting spurs performance and pointing out they always make a mockery of Spurs.

At first the presenters where professional, trying to explain that that's the style of the sports bar, it's a less serious take on the matches, a bit more comedy and all the presenters get abuse by their colleagues when their particular team loses and last night was no different

This just wound the guy up more, saying this call is a complaint and just going on and on slagging TalkSport off.

They then just started laughing at him until he ended the call.

Great stuff.

This.

Ive never known such a build up on national radio - 5 live - for a CL game. It started the day before ffs.

Its as if it were England in the ****ing World Cup.

Ludicrously favoured amd hyped, yet our exploits last season betters theirs this with 10% of the fanfare.

It's nauseating. The guff people spouted after the away leg was hilarious as well. "Best result for an English side in Europe in years", "genuine CL contenders" etc... because they came back to draw at a pretty depleted Juventus.

I've never known a side to get such adulation for such little achievement.

It's them being a London club, having a lot of England players in their side (note Eric Dier not even having his name mentioned when he played Salah in one on one, imagine if that was David Luiz) and possibly most of all, being judged with smaller expectations. Could you imagine the media reaction if Arsenal drew 2-2 away at Juventus and lost 1-2 at home after being 1 up, and Spurs had won 0-2 at Milan? Arsenal would be absolutely blasted and Spurs would be rimmed endlessly.

Chiellini was tryng to be nice about it too. Haha. W@nkers.

Read an article saying psg looking for new manager and ofncourse pocchetino and conte high on the list

With big clubs like psg and most likely real coming after a manager its going to be hard to not leave spurs.

Correct.

Since you mention Dier; he is for me the most over rated of players.

No way should he be in playing in the Tottenham side, let alone the England set up. He is a Championship player.

He makes many mistakes, has no pace and is extremely immobile - he’s always walking around the pitch regardless of circumstances.

I can only assume he has got where he is due to his FA family links!

I agree he's massively overrated, but I think it's going a bit far. Like when people on here say our players are league one standard.

Talk of Glenn Murray getting an England call up.

I wanted to laugh this off but then I looked for alternatives but couldn't find anyone. We're desperately short of strikers, there is a reason Solanke and Abraham were in the last squads.

Spurs downfall was / is their game management, same as PSG. That’s where teams like Juventus, Atletico (though not this year) and even Real have the edge. When we won the title we were also great at it and why we could grind out results whereas Spurs had to outplay the opposition. One bad day in the office for key players means dropped points whereas perennial champions have multiple ways to win.

It it will be interesting to see how Man City  do as offensively they are the best in Europe but the Wigan game in the FA cup was a good example of being slightly below par.

Well yeah I am sticking the knife in, so may as well go the whole hog as usual.

There’s not a lot of difference between Championship players and those down the bottom of the PL.

He wouldn’t be out of place at West Brom I don’t think.

My main problem with Dier is that his forehead goes almost entirely over his eyes

That’s it.

He cant see where he’s going; it’s so obvious I can’t believe I didn’t realise before.

Sky Sports News in RIVALRY WEEKEND overdrive. Who is the biggest club? What is your combined 11? Which manager has the best banter?

GET INVOLVED.

I assume they were talking about Man United v Liverpool and not Aston Villa v Wolves.

overhyped.

Man Utd vs Liverpool
Hibs vs Hearts
Rangers vs Celtic
Villa vs Wolves

Forest vs Derby

Yeah they're rivalries but they're known to overhype a lot of the time!

Wouldn't surprise me if they tried to class NYCFC vs LA Galaxy as an 'MLS Derby'.

Tbf Rangers v Celtic, even though the standard of footy is atrocious and both clubs are the absolute bins, is always pretty bloody good entertainment.
