Ranieri 'Ready to return to management'

How can anybody slag Ranieri off?! Unbelievable how some fans treat him. The man deserves nothing but respect, regardless of what happened this season.

He lost a lot of that respect when some of the behind-the-scenes stories came out about him threatening players and not letting them see their wives. That is unforgiveable for me personally.

People actively want him to fail? Seriously?

He's gone, we're improving, things are looking brighter than two months ago. Hoping our title winning manager fails in his next job is poor. Honestly, some cannot accept he was in charge for it, can they?

He did his best to dismantle in the space of 6 months a set up which been built over a number of years and had taken us to the top of the PL.

That, combined with his arrogance and pandering for sympathy ever since being sacked has made it hard for me to admire the man any more.

I think the main reason is not because people are being vindictive against Ranieri, but because it currently seems that pundits and randomers will never stop tearing into our players and club as snakes until he does fail somewhere else. It's been 2 months and still comment sections are still filled with stuff like "so glad they're out, if the players hadn't sacked their greatest manager ever they would have won the CL, karma is a bitch"

Some poorly judged comments on here imo. The guy was at the helm when we won the PL against all odds. Ok, he may have inherited a good set up but he had sense to keep and make the necessary tactical and personnel changes to make it happen. He also won us the tag of everyone's favourites which helped in the final run-in.

The club made the right decision in sacking him when they did but that should not detract from last season and his role. That does not denigrate anything that Shakey or Steve Walsh did.

Show the guy some respect. He made mistakes and paid the price this season. But he should be revered like all of them for last season's unforgettable achievement.

The majority of true Leicester fans will cherish the year that Ranieri was at the helm of our club and steered us to the title. Just remember that day versus Everton. Nothing that is said or done since will change that. A legend.

It's interesting how an alternative narrative is emerging among some non-Leicester fans where Shakespeare was the mastermind behind everything and Claudio was a mere media-friendly puppet! We know that narrative's going too far the other way, but I still like it better than the players backstabbing betrayal narrative.

Not going far enough. Cambiasso was the mastermind behind it all.

I think Watford will be his most likely way back into the Premier League.

Not a bad team for him either, as they play a similar way to us and have a good spirit.

I have doubts how well he could perform at a club, without the solid foundation we had in place and the momentum from the year before.

I also think that if he does go to another Prem club and fail, then many of those attributing our title win mostly to him, will start to doubt that, so part of me hopes he doesn't come back and either retires or gets a job in another league. I don't want to see him struggling again and being sacked.

Having said that, I wish him nothing but the best of luck and hope he does well wherever he ends up.

Shouldn't this be in the general football and sport section?

Sure, he mentioned us, but that bit could be discussed in another thread (the "the 'do they mean us?' thread" or the "monday night football" thread).

And that's Ranieri's fault?

Some people just like acting like twelve year old girls on the internet. There seem to be a few in this thread.

It's all still a bit raw at the moment. Give it a few years and I'm sure he'll regain his rightful place as a Leicester legend with most, if not all the fans.

If he does get any offers I hope he does well.  I feel he's been a bit unfair, disrespectful even, in specific snippets taken from interviews recently but he was nothing less than a mad, loveable gentleman while he was here and that's how we should remember him as far as Claudio and Leicester are concerned.

That said I would be being dishonest if I claimed that absolutely no part of me would appreciate seeing him fail at another club what with the vindication it would provide our owners and players but that's the bitter, selfish, cvnty part of me that I keep locked away when I'm not trying to provide full disclosure in the interest of fairness.  I would certainly never abuse the man and if I ever met him he'd receive nothing but appreciation for what he helped us achieve in his time here.

Genuinely curious to see how he will fare in another PL's club. Wouldn't recommend it to him, but if he's set on then good luck to him.

You'd have to be a proper weird little fvcker to call Claudio Ranieri pathetic and actively hope he fails elsewhere wouldn't you

I still dont understand why nobody is asking him about the Ulloa deadline day debacle.  I'm curious to know his take on it.

There must be questions that have to be avoided if you want someone to come to your show.

I think he will fail wherever he goes. That's not being vindictive, it's looking at his past record and recent comments that nothing's been learnt or any reason for a change in his approach. The man is an island. I am the reason for success. I gave them this knowledge blah blah. He has had this attitude throughout his career, see Ray Wilkins comments after his sacking regarding his time at Chelsea. I would suggest it has been the main reason as to why people laughed him into the seat here when he was first appointed.

Personally, couldn't care less what he does from now onwards. I didn't feel "safe" with him as manager of Leicester as his long term plans/belief, simply did not suit us. We are and always will be better off without him.

He was with us for one season, how are they his players playing 'his' system ? Seriously losing respect for him. The media love in has got him believing he won the league himself
