Blue ROI Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Unfortunately a case of 'what if' tonight. Would ye have been confident going to the bernabeu? I'd be fearful that we would have been overawed playing real away. Given the controversy after the bayern Munich match I would have expected something similar to happen us. I would have taken losing a quarter final before a semi final. Getting to the last 4 and just missing out it would have been tougher. Looking forward to tonight's game now. Is it a case of now or never for atletico?
Wymsey Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Ndidi > Bale Morgan > Benzema Drinkwater > Ronaldo Would've been a piece of cake...
Ashley Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Just because Atletico got them in the draw doesn't mean we would have.

I'm glad someone else sees sense, we'd have had a 33.3% chance of getting them but people seem to think because the team that knocked you out drew them so you would've.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 After narrow defeats in Sevilla and Madrid it would have been nice to get a rare victory on Spanish turf over the Policia.

As per 'if we had beaten millwall we would have got spurs' - it's just nonsensical. If we had got through it's unlikely we would have won at West Brom sat so would be looking rather nervously over our shoulders .......... a 16.5% chance that we would be about to get our heads kicked in by the Madrid plod

Harry - LCFC Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Not as interested now we're out but my hopes for tonight are: - Atletico get a draw, I'm on their side now we're out - At least one Spanish police officer stubs his toe

Is it a case of now or never for atletico? We probably wouldn't of got Real BUT..... Personally i would of loved to of got to the semis.. It would of been an extra memory that couldn't of been taken away by anyone. I would of been especially encouraged by the 2nd leg being at home.... and i am so sure, in both legs, the plays would of split their own blood in their efforts - their commitment would of been there for sure.. But that then begs the question... Would they have left enough in the tank to deal with the final few games and would they of been just as focused as they were for the West Brom game?
nigelbee Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Shall we just pretend Atletico are Leicester...for 2 nights only? (and maybe also a day in Cardiff) errr maybe not!

Xen Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Would've been a decent draw for us imo. Juve would have completely nullified us. We would have lost without having much to shout about at all. Monaco and Real would both be tough tests for different reasons, but I think we would have had a chance against both. Atletico - Juve final for me. Not sure who would come out on top there.
Blue ROI Posted 2 May 2017 Author Posted 2 May 2017 Have 2 teams from the same city played against each other in a champions league semi final before?
rn9013 Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 I'm quite looking forward to the match tonight. Obviously would have been better if it was us, but I for one will be cheering on Atletico for the rest of the competition. If only so that we can hopefully say we were knocked out by the winners. We can certainly watch the rest of this seasons champions league with our heads held high.

Blue ROI Posted 2 May 2017 Author Posted 2 May 2017 Early pressure from real. Could have a goal already.
