Hammo Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Serves Atletico right for not wearing their proper kit. Brilliant display by Real. Ronaldo is a genius. Love watching Toni Kroos play. Effortless control and quick, positive accurate passing. I wish we had a player like that in our team!

Guest Col city fan Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 I did say I saw Atletico as the 'easiest' team we could have drawn in the quarters. They are solid and fantastically well organized but are no match for Real. I doubt we'd have beaten them but just a little bit more of a real go at them...and who knows.
Dr The Singh Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 The gulf between the top Europe teams and premium teams is huge. We can cope with the spurs, arses, chelscums and man Shitties, but I would hate to think what real would do to us....
EnglishOxide Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 Meh. Sol Bamba monstered Ronaldo in that pre season friendly a few years ago. I'm sure we would have smashed 'em.
treer Posted 2 May 2017 Posted 2 May 2017 perhaps the gods are with us Quarter finalists, as good as we are at the moment, we went out on an high, gave it everything, on the night not a player could be faulted. If we had won, and played against ronnie ron tonight, maybe just maybe we could have been another Arsenal, ie embarasment tro the PL In hindsight, I am quite happy to have gone out on such a great high, without the adventure being sullied with a resounding defeat.

Yes man, dont tell me about possession , control and pass , it epitimozed what leicester lack I really suffers when watching albrighton and okazaki playing and have to endure the 90 min they are on the pitch a torture You can fellow the game by ignoring them and focusing on the hope of a good result at the end of it Happy to have avoided in the group stage big teams bcz real madrid would have scored 7-8 goals to make your winning the title looked grey Life is good leicester have reached the QF in CL with good performnces and wth the world football respect Next season next story because leicester got some decent experience
The whole world smiles Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Each game of football played is completely different you cannot apply the logic that just because Real beat Athletico in one game we will automatically have been hammered by them. Real have lost to Celta Vigo, Valencia and Sevilla (who we beat over two legs) in the last few months. They might have took us a bit lighter than there same city rivals. They might have had a man send off, vardy might have got an early away goal and we held on till half time. Who knows what would have happened, nothing is pre written.

Think I'd rather have got through to the semi finals and got hammered. All ifs and buts though.
Japanfox Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Because they sang and cheered Leicester off the pitch. I'm rooting for Aletico ?

That's fvckin nuts!!! The interesting stat is only one of them was done when he was playing at man u Says a lot about the quality of la liga
filbertway Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 It would have been brutal viewing if we had made it through and had to play Monaco or Real. Juve wouldn't have been so bad as they're probably similar to Atletico in that they'd happily preserve a small lead.
st albans fox Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Just saw a table showing our final take from the CL to be 78m euros home gate receipts to be added to that aswell which will be at least 5 million profit.

Nice! We just need to find some agents representing African players to blow it on now.

He bangs them in at every level. Athletico would beat most, if not all, PL sides and Ronaldo scored a hatrick against them in the semi finals of a major competition. Unreal.

MC Prussian Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 IF we had drawn Real, I don't know how we would've done, it's all hypothetical mumbo-jumbo. In terms of quality up front, they're a million lightyears ahead, mainly thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo. I doubt we'd have stopped him, he's collecting hat-tricks like crazy and the result over two legs would've probably been much worse than our total score against Atlético. However, I would've fancied our chances against Monaco on the counter. Juve? Similar to Atlético Madrid. Imagine Huth/Morgan/Benalouane against Dybala & Higuain... No chance. And their back four is hideously good. Alex Sandro, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lichtsteiner/Alves... And Buffon in goal, no way.
Chico1958 Posted 3 May 2017 Posted 3 May 2017 Thank God we went out with our heads held high in QFs Shakespeares tactic perfect
Blue ROI Posted 3 May 2017 Author Posted 3 May 2017 Juve started off very well in the other semi final but M'bappe just forced a good save from Buffon. Monaco are a strange club. Around 18,000 capacity stadium and hardly any atmosphere there at all tonight.
Blue ROI Posted 3 May 2017 Author Posted 3 May 2017 1-0 juve. Great team goal and finish by higuain. 29 minutes gone.

Genuinely think we'd be through to the SF if we had drawn either Dortmund or Monaco. I had Athletico 5/8
