It was Slimani's first season in Premier.

He had injuries and also went to CAN.

 

If Leicester City FC sells him to another Premier Club you'll regret it.

 

In first season in Sporting CP he was also a bit.. awful.

But he improved a lot. He was coming from a far less competitive league.

 

Portuguese league in not as rich as Premier league, but its a competitive league - with lower pace but in average more skilled players.

 

This season Slimani had to adapt again to a different team and football style, playing against (phisically) stronger defenders and playing on a team that only works on counter attack and Mahrez is the only one above average to make good crosses or passing through a couple defenders and make a good pass to Slimani score - in Sporting he had 2-3 players that could do that, and Sporting plays on attack much more often.

 

It was is first year, I really think he will be much better next season if he stays in Premier league.

I could say really ridiculous is how much money a Premier Clubs receives from TV/Premier league prizes.

Because that not only pevert all the UEFA competitions but also makes impossible for portuguese Clubs [and also other Clubs from small/poor country's] to keep their best players - much higher wagers 'makes' players want to move.

 

Leicester City FC will receive 110 Million pounds this season. Thats +/- 125 M €. From TV/prize alone... Then you also have advertising, tickets, etc.

Sporting CP, Benfica and Porto only makes 40M€/season each from tv, and for the next 8-9 seasons that amount will only rise to +/- 50M per season. And these are the top Clubs in Portugal

Then they have an average attendance higher than Leicester (bigger stadium's helps) but tickets are a lot cheaper, so less earnings from tickets too..

 

A 'mid Club' [only 3-4 Clubs - Guimarães, Braga, Marítimo,..] in Portugal makes 4-6 Million € from tv/prizes.

A lower rank/position in Portuguese 'Primeira liga' makes 2-3 Million per season from tv. And that's this season, a couple years ago only made 1-1.5 Million...

 

Yet portuguese teams usually have decent performance in UEFA and produce/teach some of the best players in the world and a lot of players above average:

Figo, Cristiano, Nani, Quaresma, Ricardo Carvalho, Fonte, Cédric, Raphael Guerreiro, Rui Costa, Paulo Sousa, Deco, etc

And not only portuguese: Matic, David Luiz, Ramires, Oblack, Falcão,... 'were made' in Portugal.

 

But I don't think its ridiculous how much money a Premier league Club makes.

 

We don't have so much money, but we make good players.

English Clubs have the money, so they have to pay for our best players.

 

It's not ridiculous, it's fair.

neither ulloa or slimani fit our current 4-4-1-1 system or style of play imo.

 

good fit for the 3-4-1-2 though.

Slim will run riot next year, first year in prem he's done fairly decent, all our players usually take a season to bed in, ignoring the abnormal Kante. Him and vardy could well get 15 league goals each next year, they've both got it in them. DO NOT SELL.

If Slimani doesn't fit our style then I'd love to see his record in the formation you mentioned.. not a bad return this season considering he's been injured and at the afcon

Expected a lot more from him.
Thought he had a decent start.
Hit with some injuries.
Can't seem to run with the ball / shoot from the deck?  Bit odd.

I think we could do much better than him.  
Although, maybe if he started a string of games, rather than coming off the bench, we'd see what he can really do?

Those thinking we should bin Slimani are fuching idiots. The guy can score and has ability. That being said anyone offer £40 million and I'd snap their hands off at the elbow.

Sporting could be willing to let Adrien Silva go, Silva is willing to move for som€ r€ason$.

But Sporting will ask at least 16-17M £ / 18-20M € + Slimani.

I doubt Leicester accepts to pay + let Slimani go, and I'm sure Sporting CP president to sell Adrien Silva will request 30-35 Million € for Silva or 18-20M€ + other player.

 

Sporting CP don't need to make more than 15-20M in transfers. 

If Sporting sells one of the most valued and useful players [Silva, William Carvalho, Patrício,.], will ask enough to cover the budget needs, this way there's no need to sell another good player.

 

And then there's also Slimani willing to come back to Sporting CP.

He likes Sporting and living in Portugal - much more sunny than England :) - but Sporting can't afford the same salary as LCFC pays him.

 

To Slimani be included in Silva transfer, only if Slimani returns on a loan - and LCFC pays at least 1/3 of Slimani salary.

He can make above 30 games/season easily.

Maybe if he's adapted to Premier league and not going to CAN/Africa Cup of Nations help to get to play more often and achieve those better stats

 

That's not going to happen though is it? Waste of money cash in and get rid. Scored a few goals but he's missed more than he's scored.
