Yes, but someone who gets goals and assist e.g Sigursson. We already have a work horse in Okazaki.

Etebo hasn't done well this season creatively, we need a CM who can carve opportunities, Etebo should really be doing better, especially as he plays in forward roles. Concerned.

2 assists in 24 games played....

According to reports sourced by Owngoalnigeria.com editorial team English Premier League side Leicester City have sent their representative to Portugal to thrash out a deal for Nigerian star Oghenekaro Etebo.

Futbol Gastesi in a post on their official twitter handle says the CD Feirense star is a prime target for Leicester City and Turkish side Fenerbahce who are both looking to strengthen their team in this window.

While Etebo is more inclined to moving to Leicester City, the report has it that Fenerbahce have not given up yet on his chase, as they are also in Portugal to convince Feirense to do a deal.

Feirense are opened to the idea of letting the forward leave but their terms and valuation of the man who joined them 18 months ago must be ‎met by interested parties.

A price tag of around 20 million euros has been placed on him by the team, but it is believed he will be allowed to leave for a fee in the region of 10 million euros plus add ons.

Seriously though, another Nigerian? Not that that is a bad thing. Au contraire, could this increase the chances of us getting Kelechi even further? This guy any good? lol

Does anyone think that maybe we're signing these Nigerians (assuming it's true) with an eye to marketing? We signed Okazaki because the owners wanted Asian players, Mahrez and Slimani have made us popular in Algeria and Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa.

No. Although it does sound like our scouts welcome suggestions from current players regarding which players they feel are worth looking at, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. By all accounts Nigerian fans rate Etebo at a similar level to Ndidi. And we need a backup to Ndidi as if he gets injured atm we're completely screwed, and Etebo will do a similar role although I think he's more box-to-box/attacking than Ndidi. From a good source too - Owngoalnigeria is like the John Percy of Nigerian players when they get info from their own sources (although I don't think that's the case here, it sounds like they might have picked it up from Twitter). It's interesting how we've basically turned into a squad with a dual British / African core, I hope that doesn't cause 'cliques'.

I'm a Nigeria fan and I don't rate Etebo as high as Ndidi. Ndidi has world class potential. Etebo is a livewire, but his four goals in one game at the Olympics skewed the picture. Maybe he'll come good, but I don't see enough creativity in him and from someone likened to Lampard I fail to see his end product.

Iheanacho, Kelechi Nwakali, Victor Osimhen, Ifeanyi Matthew or even Isaac Success (who has struggled with injuries for 2-3 years now) are all players with a higher end game than Etebo.

So, not such a great success then?

Agree. I'd definitely be more willing to join a company/team if I already knew someone there. And our scouts know this will help them when recruiting. The fact it may increase our reputation in another country is more a happy side effect that in the main reason imo.
