17/18 Expectations and Predictions

To be honest I think it's as disastrous to get relegated from here anyway. It's not just the fact we're that many clear of Swansea but there's another five teams they're gunning at before us.

Then again this is Leicester. We don't deal in the usual way.

I'm not being pessimistic but I don't want to let my guard down in the last 20 seconds of a boxing match that we're easily winning on points.

If we lose to Watford and Swansea win the evening match then we could be in the position of expecting Swansea to beat Sunderland (a) and West Brom (h) to finish on 41pts. We could easily lose our next two games against Man City and Tottenham and needing a result against Bournemouth.

I'd just like us to guarantee safety ASAP as the downside to finishing 18th is astronomical to the upside of finishing 8th which is why I won't see a point against Watford as a particularity bad result.

I see what you're getting at but to be honest I think regardless we should win on Saturday. Games like this have been our bread & butter since coming up. The great escape was largely produced on games like it.

I predict a resounding 3-0 win and that to be that.

I hope top ten is the aim next season, and in the coming seasons. Try to qualify for Europe.

Add some genuine creativity and unpredictability (without losing any industry or energy) to central midfield, keep our best players, confirm Shakespeare, never stop working, and the sky's the limit.

Feels impossible to predict, and will hugely depend on pre season, who is the manager, and transfers.

We could finish anywhere in the league from 1st to 20th!

I hope we can push on for a europa spot and keep building the club commercially and in terms of the squad.

All this talk about competing with Everton, as far as I can see Lukaku is off this summer and without him they're nowhere near our standard so behind the big 6 spenders I don't see why 7th isn't out of the question and without European competition/distraction, a couple of decent signings and some luck/avoiding injuries I don't see why finishing top 5-7 is anything but acceptable

Man City

Chelsea

Man Utd

Spurs

Us: 6th

18 - Swansea

19 - Crystal Palace

20 - Burnley

League Cup: Man City

FA Cup: Leicester

Think next season is the one we go for the FA Cup, none of this playing reserves in it shite. Dont think we'll be in a relegation scrap or quite close enough to the champions league spots.

Reading will go up because literally nobody outside Reading wants it to happen. We all know how it works.

As for expectations, a better first half of the season, top 6-8 finish and decent cup runs.

As for predictions, impossible to say.

I don't think the manger is a big decision, given our experience with the owners, I think they will give him the job.

That said, he needs a really big number 2, oooooh pardon. His assistant needs to be sewn up and bought in ready to go as soon as everybody ends their holidays.

Could they keep Shakey and bring in a new Director of Football?

We all know which areas of the squad need investment, let's hope we have a good summer there.

I think we'd all like to see a genuine alternative to the 4-4-2 set up we use.

I'm not saying we ditch 4-4-2, just have another system to set up against teams where we need it and have the players understand it. This seasons attempts were utterly embarrassing for such an experienced team.

At least two of the promoted sides will struggle and get relegated and Swansea and Burnley look set for tough seasons. depending on how Leicester start the season we will either finish in the top six or six to tenth! but I hope for much better. expect Chelski and Man city to battle it out for the title and Liverpool to drop out of the top four!
