Sharpe's Fox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Since Shakey took over he's looked like Zidane but were bobbins before then
Webbo Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Simpson has been our most consistent player all season. I'm struggling to think of a bad match he's had.
Xen Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Kasper, then Simpson, then Albrighton. Simpson is the only outfield player who didn't seem to get worse in the first half of the season. If anything, he improved from last year. He's unspectacular and I wouldn't be surprised if he ends his career without another MotM award, but he's as solid and reliable as they come.

Saxondale Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Agree with OP. He's been great. He was nothing short of superb today and the goal was so well deserved. Ridiculous that he's never got in the England squad. He's too good for that shite,
Lovejoy Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 He was pony before Shakey was appointed. Taking nothing away from his form since February, but that's not the whole season.
RGFox Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Agree with most the above. Since Shaky, he's improved considerably. Terrific all round performance. That nutmeg on the sideline and cross field pass in 1st galf was sublime. MOTM today though over the season it's likely to Kasper and Simpson for consistency.
Corky Posted 6 May 2017 Posted 6 May 2017 Schmeichel's been the only one all season who had performed to an acceptable then excellent standard. His early Champions League displays were tremendous and it showed when he was injured how much of a presence he is.
CyprusFox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 The most underrated player in the premiership IMO. No one to touch him for motm yesterday and gets my vote for pots. Who was the villa manager that let him go?

Bazly Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 I don't think its a coincidence that the form improved soon after Ndidi arrived. He is shaping up to be a midfield beast so hopefully he will be our star player next season. For this though, it has to be Kasper. Albrighton still hasn't got a clue how to whip in a cross, most of his crosses are lobbed so high the birdlife is in danger. He needs to take some coaching from Fuchs on how to do it properly.

He did and even Shakespeare had his arms out after that goal to say wtf was that, never seen that before? Maybe he has been taking lessons from Fuchs already and we can look forward to a lot more displays of shooting and crossing brilliance.

los dedos Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 Only 27 so in the next couple of seasons he will be hitting his prime!
Stadt Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 He was just about the worst player in the team for most of the season, there's no chance he should be player of the season. Since Shakey's been in charge he's been fantastic though.
foxy boxing Posted 8 May 2017 Posted 8 May 2017 Albrighton has done well but Kasper is by far head and shoulders the player of the season and it will be scandalous if anyone other then him gets it! other players Like Ndidi and of course Mahrez but Kasper has been sensational and is regarded now as a world class keeper

shen Posted 8 May 2017 Posted 8 May 2017 No chance. He's had a resurgence since Shakespeare took over, but I'm afraid it's recent form that's clouding it for the OP. Kasper has been consistently good all season and has been pivotal quite a few times, most obviously in the big CL games so there isn't a contest to be honest. The best of the rest could arguably go to any of Albrighton, Simpson, Ndidi or Vardy and I would argue the latter has been the biggest reason we've shot up the league and I personally think he played to a reasonable standard even under Ranieri this season. Even in this resurgence Albrighton has had a few indifferent games, but he's also had his best games for us in that space of time!
Koke Posted 8 May 2017 Posted 8 May 2017 Is it just me who sees parallels between Albrighton and Milner? Both are hard workers who gets overshadowed by better players in their team, but neither complain and will play in any position when asked. Both are also not rated very much by opposition fans, as they are seen as "average"
