ThurmastonFox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 Watching back on match of the day I noticed large clusters of empty seats. Didn't see them while at the game but wonder if this is the sign that the plastics are melting away...

Bilo Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 The club should really have given Watfinese a smaller allocation. Pure Championship following.

Staffs Fox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 When I heard the attendance yesterday I did chuckle, no way was there 31,000! Watford had at least 1000 empty and we had big pockets of seats available, I said to the guy next to me I thought it'd be below 30,000 for the first time in years!
Karljohn Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 The club still count season ticket holder seats whether they are sat in or not. Same as Arsenal the other week, clearly nowhere near 59000 at the Emirates.

No way on this planet was there over 30,000 at that game ... I think the guy who counts them had been on the piss all day.

marrigton Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 lots of pockets of empty seats for a while now we have noticed. fingers crossed me n the lad can finally secure season tickets this year.
Fox92 Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 People seemed to leave early. A lot near me missed Albrighton's goal. Family Stand emptied really quick for some reason.
Ian Nacho Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 To be expected when we're playing a nothing game against Watford when the plastics don't want to come.
Bayfox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 There was an exceptionally large amount of 3s and 4s everywhere yesterday. But as mentioned before the attendance always includes all season ticket holders for accounting purposes as i understand it. Be interesting to see the renewal take up for next season.

I reckon at least a thousand City fans missed Albrighton goal. Streaming out they were. WHY! I feckin despair.

I'm with you on that. Never understood this ridiculous 'beat the traffic' malarkey. If that's more important to you, why go to the game in the first place? They were filling the aisles where I sit yesterday a good three or four minutes before the end. Insane. Missing one of our best counterattacking goals of the season serves them bloody right. PS if you were one of those early leavers, could you please explain yourself as I just don't get it.
ithuriel Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 It was something of a nothing game and we noticed in the pub before the game it was quite empty compared to most every other game this season and the patches of empty seats at the ground was noticeable too. Was a little surprised at the early leaving considering this was not an evening or midweek game but then again this game really was not a classic and was easily forgettable.

Was a dead end of season game. Poor atmosphere, I was frozen and wanted a beer.

Have never, ever understood people rushing to get out before the game has even ended. It only takes 2 mins to get out even after the whistle has blown.

lifted*fox Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 seemed to be a lot of random people sat near us instead of the usual STHs.
I blame Wellens Posted 7 May 2017 Posted 7 May 2017 Poor atmosphere empty seats 1000s leave early who cares? they will be the same supporters who won't be here in 3 or 4 years time if we are in the championship. Fans stay with the club forever. Supporters don't. I stayed to the end to see the best set of players this club has ever seen and maybe will ever see. You will miss it when they've gone. Thought Vardy's effort was exceptional considering he could have been 'on the beach'.

I`m guessing that Watford insisted on their full allocation, which they will have had to pay us for, despite all their no show fans. So given that we count season ticket holders as being there when they are not, i assume that we counted the thousand or so no show Watford fans too.

Tbf I was on the stairs at the time but still witnessed the goal, my mate had work and wanted to get out slightly early but we knew about 2 and a half of the three had been played. I'm with you though, we never tend to leave early and can't understand why people would
