Someone comes in for Vardy and I think he will go. Simple as that.

The wages he's on here for a player of his age makes that unlikely.

I can't believe that some people think that Vardy will leave, no club will pay over a £100K a week in wages for him, he's settled here and will go on to "bang em in" for us but way too much of a gamble for any other club. There'll be departures but Vardy won't be one of them.

We have to have shakey or a real top guy, no good replacing with a run oft he mill manager who has has failed elsewhere.

IF we cant get a top man let shakey have a go,

Swopping shakey with Hodgson, Moyes etc would be just stupid, because we know where we would end up with the likes of them

I would offer simone 10 million you get 3 years for a slimani

Agree with you 100%. Think it's going to have to be someone new as a manager because it's going to be the busiest summer for a while with Mahrez likely to go and others potentially leaving such as Kasper, as well as high levels of improvement to the squad. I think we do need to adapt the way we play because we've just been figured out, maybe not wholesale changes but slight adaptations. The club needs a bigger name also if it wants to progress into a club that regularly gets into Europe which our owners want.

This summer is massive for us as we all know.

It will define if we push on towards European  places next season or if we slip back down into a relegation battle.

Other teams will also be looking for managers, Watford and possibly southampton, so the owners need to ensure we get the right person.

I like shakespeare alot and hes done a great job keeping us up when we looked down and also the champs league.

However, we cannot underestimate how big a job this will be. We need a total overhaul of players and tactics. We know we cant keep playing like we have for the past 2 years as teams are aware of our threats.

Our best players may get poached and our lesser players need to be moved on.

So the new manager (be it shakey  or someone else) needs to

1. Persuade our stars to stay.

2. Clear out the deadwood.

3. Sign at least 5-6 new top players.

4. Think up a new way of us playing so we dont just rely on long balls to vardy.

5. Build a squad capable of challenging in the top 7.

Not an easy task!

Nice contribution! I was of the understanding this was a forum where people could discuss football and discuss Leicester City. If you dont like what someone else writes, no need to be a cock about it!

We have to sign players who will challenge the current first teamers for a starting spot.

That was where we went wrong last summer. None of the signings were any better than those we had already.

I think we need competition in nearly every position personally.

RB..we need someone to challenge Simpson

CB.... for sure

Centre Midfield... I think we are pretty much ok when Drinkwater/Ndidi start. The jury is out on Mendy cos he's just not played enough. But we do need a playmaker.

Strikers...do we keep Slim, or not? I'm unsure. If we sell him, we need that second, quality striker.

To kick on in any meaningful way, we need to recruit possibly 3 or 4 quality players.

We need at least 2 x CB 1 x RB 1 x CM and 1 x CF and that's before we lose any players so if Mahrez and Kasper go we need 2 more obviously

we will see

probably will be a new manager aswell?

It's easy to say that but who are these players, are they available and would they come here?

Well if other clubs can then so can we. As existing champions, it should have been even more achievable last season. Last summers recruitment was appalling.

I've stated already two players I'd like to see at City. Maguire and Robertson from Hull. Both perfectly realistic I would imagine.

Ndidi is a talent but thats it. We have decent players for the wings with Albrighton and Gray but we will need some competition for them 2. In the middle, like you say, its dire. We know there is a good player in Drinkwater but he has been so poor this season. We need 2 top quality centre mids and 2 top quality centre backs and then build up from there

Since he joined us he has been luke warm one season and magnificent the next - expect him to be player of the season in 12 months time.

we need to significantly strengthen the defence in the summer and maybe another central midfielder as well a player that can link the midfield and attack

I just hope after the last transfer window it's not going to be a cruel, cruel summer

Usually coincides with us winning a league as well .

I don't think it's so much the 100k a week, but more the duration. Wasn't it for 4 or 5 years, so 3 or 4 years left.

I'm probably too optimistic but I really hope Josh Gordon steps up.

Obviously Mahrez is a big ask to replace: One of Musa, Lawrence and Gray would need to step up.

Kasper is the main leaving player that worries me to be honest.

The two I think / hope will step up into the first team squad are Barnes and Lawrence...

I really hope they get a chance to show what they can do and are not ignored such as Kapustka and Gray to some degree.

We're not very good at bringing on our young prospects and it would be great to see that policy change,  whether that be with Shakey in charge or someone else.

Agree.

No one seems to know much about Lawrence but many still seem to voice the opinion that he should be shipped out. Never understood why. Surely he should be given a chance.

Vardy isn't going anywhere. He's a 30 year old who's game is built on pace, and he's well paid for his service. No club is going to gamble on him working in their system. If he was going to go, he would have left last year.

Mahrez is as good as gone IMO if we get the right offer, but given the season he had, I am not sure if one will come in. Had he lit the world on fire this season, I could see the real madrid, barcelona's, etc. coming for him. But are we really gonna sell him for less than our valuation of him just because he wants to leave and might have been told by Ranieri that he could go in the summer? After all, he's under contract on a long term deal. I can't see him pulling a Payet.

The fact that Gray didn't get a start towards the end of the season, even when we were safe in place of Marhez who should have been benched, for me was weak management by Shakespeare.

Still can't get my head around that one. Gray is turning into the new Kramaric. Looks talented but being given no extended run in the side to prove himself.

Get off your high horse mate. This is an internet forum where people can discuss football and Leicester City. My opinion was that you're not bringing anything new to that discussion and I decided to make the point in a humorous manner, tongue-in-cheek... it could have been a lot worse.

There's always the ignore button.

Can see a minimum of six players coming in this summer. At least three of those players will have to come in and be able to challenge to get into the starting XI. I think we need a right-back to challenge Simpson, a backup goalkeeper if Schmeichel stays (two goalkeepers if he leaves), a centre back, a centre mid, an attacking midfielder, a creative midfielder and a young striker as like an understudy to Vardy. We're not necessarily going to be able to address everything in one window, but that would be ideal.
