Can't see Shakey wanting to stay on as assistant again.

why not? tbh a part of me gets the feeling he'd rather be assistant than manager.

Vardys gaff up for sale. Doesn't need a bigger house.

Make of that what you will.

What you on about? The house in Melton?

He's just moved to a new house in Lincolnshire.

Didn't someone say he's looking at houses in Lincoln? So he's staying pretty local.

I thought he'd moved to Oakham or something? Apparently he's moving to Lincolnshire according to the Mercury based on the fact they heard a rumour and decided the advertising dollars won't generate themselves.

I like how they felt the need to qualify this. They mean they walked in three times, max, then decided they weren't that keen on pork pies anyway.

After last season the thought of losing any of our players was a real concern. This season there's probably 4 or 5 at most I'd be saddened to see leave. Other than that I don't really care who leaves.

Vardy (we must keep him!)

Kasper

Ndidi

Albrighton

Chilwell

That's it for me

Can see a minimum of six players coming in this summer. At least three of those players will have to come in and be able to challenge to get into the starting XI. I think we need a right-back to challenge Simpson, a backup goalkeeper if Schmeichel stays (two goalkeepers if he leaves), a centre back, a centre mid, an attacking midfielder, a creative midfielder and a young striker as like an understudy to Vardy. We're not necessarily going to be able to address everything in one window, but that would be ideal.

I honestly think we're beyond that. Regardless of how difficult/costly the process will be we really require at least 3 players to be match day 11 regulars rather than challengers for a position.

It's clear that any disruption to the first 11 results in a massive drop in the liklihood of a positive result or even a positive performance.

The good performances this season have been the anomaly. With the exception of the first 5 games under CS, we haven't strung anything together at all and whilst our defeats under CS haven't had the same feeling of utter despair in comparison with the latter defeats under Ranieri, they have had the same worrying traits. The slow starts, the habit of conceding early, the inability to string passes together or retain possession, the rather one dimensional hoofball that can be all too present, the proclivity to concede goals in clusters.

An example of the dirth of options currently available is the situation with Mahrez. I'm not here to bash Riyad, there's enough people seemingly happy to do that, but his form, like the team, has slumped this year yet there's no one good enough/trusted enough to oust him from the matchday 11. That is an appalling situation for the premier league champions to be in. The same can be said for almost all of them. Where are the positions where it's a 50/50 call as to who plays when everyone's fit? Unfortunately, the first 11 still picks itself even after such a hugely disappointing league campaign. Given that we 've struggled this season, it's a huge task to overhaul the squad when each of the players is another season older, especially the defence.

Whether CS gets the nod or whether it's a new name to lead us forward, I think they have a big job on their hands and they will need to hit the ground running.

Agree.

No one seems to know much about Lawrence but many still seem to voice the opinion that he should be shipped out. Never understood why. Surely he should be given a chance.

Agree

It's a little like people saying Matty James is not good enough for this team now.

They have never seen him in a title winning side. But the rest of the players stepped up and managed to win the league.

We'll we might find out today.

If anybody bothered to read the article it clearly says that he wants more privacy as everyone knows where he lives from the title party being there.

It's a premier league winning England striker. His pictures are all over the net and in daily papers. Where ever he lives word will get round.

People did not discover his address because of a video taken in his kitchen.

players that don't fit our style of play:

benalouane, king, amartey, mendy, musa, kapustka, gray, slimani, ulloa

That's a lot of ability and achievement summararily dismissed. Can't imagine you've had much to do with coaching or management yourself. I'd be ensuring improved replacements before I was rubbishing anyone and certainly ability of that kind. Let's not think ourselves a force in Europe or even the Premiership before we can back it up.

The fact that Gray didn't get a start towards the end of the season, even when we were safe in place of Marhez who should have been benched, for me was weak management by Shakespeare.

Perhaps Shakespeare knew more about the situation than you.

I do think we need to freshen things up. We don't want players living on past glories, we need a few hungry lads with something to prove.

Last summer was a disgrace, and I was worried before this season even started. I'm hoping that by August I'm optimistic we have a team that can move us towards those European places.

Need a new head of recruitment.

Silmani, Musa, Mendy, Amartey, Hernandez, Inler, Kapuska, Wague have all been disasters in one way or another. Even Gray barely gets in the team. Limping through the end of the last game with a back three of Simpson, Amartey, and Fuchs, and Andy King in midfield is shocking given the money we have spent.

Kante and Ndidi have been the only decent signings since Pearson left.

What about Fuchs?

The fact remains that Marhez on performance, wasn't deserved of a place in the team, certainly for a full game for weeks now. We have had the apologists saying that due to his abilities, he can change a game at any moment. ...but he didn't and wouldn't whilst he's so bone idol, so for me, with him, there was not much of a situation to know about. With Gray in fairness I do concede you may have a valid  point in relation to things like attitude off the pitch as only the management would know those sort of things and not the likes of me. However if it was that bad, surely he wouldn't even be on the bench. Gray has his faults but they look the sort that could be ironed out with game time and experience possibly . If not at least you know. Either way it had to be worth a try when lazy boy couldn't be bothered to turn up. Even Was in the last game for 10 minutes rather than Marhez. Either way, I'll nail my colours to the mast in saying that it looks like the team needs a semi rebuild and I don't feel Shakespeare is the man to do it.  I'm not necessarily right, just my opinion. If he is made manager I'd wish him the very best of luck and hope that I'm very wrong.

The wages he's on here for a player of his age makes that unlikely.

Depends who comes in think he would only consider CL, possibly if Liverpool or Spurs came in he'd consider it, having said that I think he also likes being the main man, an that wouldn't be the case at either of them.

For me we only need to improve in 3 area provided we keep everyone...

Someone to help Vardy who's good at football when he has it, not just when he doesn't (Sorry Shinji and Slimani)

A more creative midfield option than Drinky and Ndidi

A young centre back who is somewhere between Benalouane and Huth's confidence on the ball - a.k.a - Not hoofing it into row z every time someones near him, but also not trying Cruyff turns on the edge of his own box.

Why would Albrighton leave? Chilwell might wanna play more, but wouldn't get in a top 7 club, so may as well stay.

What if Mahrez had it written into his contract he gets to start every game and it was the only way we would have kept him.
